Disclaimer

Ron Paul is claiming that a newsletter called, variously, the Ron Paul Political Report or Ron Paul Freedom Report or Ron Paul Survival Report (!), written in the first-person to suggest it's he himself writing, and published by Ron Paul & Associates, is not necessarily reflective of his views, and, indeed, was ghostwritten by others for several decades before he noticed what was being written in his name.

He admits to, at most, "moral responsibility" for not paying more careful attention to what was written his his name for over 20 years.

I would like to take this moment to also say that this blog, called Ace of Spades HQ, is not necessarily reflective of any of my views. Indeed, I barely read this blog at all and I don't really pay much attention even when I'm the one writing it. (Actually, you've all seen the evidence of that already.)

Bear in mind there are numerous cobloggers here, none of whom were selected to post here based on any notion of sharing my basic outlook in any way. They were all chosen randomly, so nothing they write can be laid at my feet. Some, like LauraW., have been writing here for years, but I've never once read one of her posts so if she's writing something that would bring discredit upon me, I'm entirely ignorant of that fact.

Friends inform me she's big on cats. If I had to venture a guess, I'd hazard that she also writes a lot about cleaning, gardening, shoes and menses. But that would only be a "guesstimation."

Furthermore, even posts with the byline "Ace" are not necessarily written by me. Someone else sometimes will post under my name. I never bother checking to see what he's writing, ever, not once, never ever ever. Nor do I ever correct him or disown posts he has falsely attributed to me. So I cannot be held responsible for any of these posts, either, should you find them objectionable.

Objectionable posts written by this unnamed ghostwriter may include, but are not limited to, posts containing the following terms:

* "money-changing schmatta merchants"

* "international bankers who may or may not indulge in occasional hemoglobin-based baking"

* "drooling retards" and/or "typical liberals"

* "shiftless darkies" or "the Swarthy Menace"

* "cock-smoking, cornhole-poking boy-buggering pervert-pederasts"

and

* "Helen Thomas"

I will not say precisely who is to blame for such posts. I don't think it's fair to point fingers at this late date, given my long negligence regarding this practice, and name who it is, exactly, falsely writing under my name.

However, his name rhymes with Mabriel Galor.

The important thing to bear in mind is that I am not responsible for a single offensive word written on a blog I started and have contributed to for years and which runs under my name (psuedonym though it may be).

I now demand that Andrew Sullivan apologize to me for all the various charges he's made against me over the years. As he accepts Ron Paul's explanation, surely he must accept mine.

I heartily accept his apology in advance, so certain am I that he will demonstrate his trademark intellectual consistency and offer me such an apology in the coming seconds.
