Non Tradish Christmas Sugar!

I finally got around to getting sticky again in
and this time the fabulous Marlene provided the sketch
with the added prompt to use 'Zig Zags'
Again i've used the ever so lovely sugar nellie 'Peace Angel' by Diane Duda coloured with my lyra crayons and a water brush.
The papers are a mix of BG and CC with an embossed snowflake panel and some corrugated card.. all of which i distressed the edges and inked with aged mahogany DI.
This also fits in with
Papertake Weekly 'Christmas Crackers'
Creative Card Crew 'Favourite Things'
{my sugar nellie stamps}
Allsorts 'Christmas carol or song title'
{Angels from the realms of glory!}
Thanks for looking

Be Thankful!

I fell in the Sugar Bowl again...but rather then climb out i decided to stay sticky and join in the fun...
This time round the fab sketch is by Judy.. with the added prompt to 'Be Thankful' {seeings as our American chums are celebrating thanksgiving}
This card came out nothing like i planned... It was one of those cards that at the start you cant seem to find the right paper .. you find what you think will work, and it doesn't! .. it nearly goes in the bin your so fed up .. then from nowhere it all seems to come together perfectly.

And seeing as it is a thankful card...

I would just like to take the opportunity to say a massive thank you to each and ever person that takes the time to come visit my blog.. listen to my waffle and view my work {especially the one's who come back again!}, no matter how often.. each and every comment is read and appreciated very much, It really makes this whole blogging lark worth while.. it also helps me to grow and develop my creativity and to strive to make better cards.

An al'white' card!

It's just as well The Sugar Bowl is fortnightly or else I'd of been pretty late with my entry..
I finally managed to find a bit of time this week to do a spot of the old crafting...
...where are the days flying off too i do wonder!
Kathy provided the fab sketch with the added prompt to use 'Lace'
Colour Create had 'all white' as the chosen colour this time round.. or should that be non colour!
This was actually harder than i thought, trying to think of ways to make the white 'pop' so i had to add a teeny tiny bit of colour just to define the edges or else it would of looked pants! Hope it still counts!
...
I was going to leave the image very bare, put a slight wash of antique linen distress ink over the entire thing.. but it looked too bare so i used a couple of my lightest copic colours over the top and it turned out really pretty i think... i may just have to colour in this way again as i really like the muted tones.
I finished by adding a coat of my new rock candy crackle paint to the image {although the pic doesn't really show it very well} i also added some of the rock candy stickles to the snowflake and that too looks very subtle but very cool.
This card also fits in with the Creative Card Crew theme this week which is 'snowflakes'
& Winter Wonderland which has an 'open theme'
Thanks for taking the time to stop by...

Sugar Bowl & Sunday Stamper

Sugar Bowl time again and this week the sketch is by Tiets with the added prompt of 'Christmas'
Also my friend Hels has a new Sunday Stamper Challenge today which is 'Circles'
I finally got around to cutting up some of my 12x12 MemoryStor® papers, i took one of each designs {which was goodness knows how many as there were 300 papers in the pack} and cut them into 6x6, i ended up with a nice 2 and a 1/2 inch pile of lush little papers.. so decided to use some on this card!
I coloured my Gorjuss with copics and added a bit of glitz to her dress, and to ted,
with my clear spica. I mounted them onto a label nestie die-cut, I also cut a mini label for the wording {which was from a 99p clear stamp set}. Some pretty flowers and holly leaves, a bit of lace and a couple of christmas lights from my stash put the finishing touches to the card.
Thanks for visiting.. Come back again soon x

The Sugar Bowl #20

It's time again for my most favourite challenge, and this time Gayle has provided The Sugar Bowl with yet another cracker of a sketch with the added prompt to use 'Paper Piecing'
...
Time is certainly slipping away fast so i decided to crack on and get yet another christmas card out the way.. i hadn't had a chance to ink all my new mangas so this adorable Mistletoe kiss was just begging to be used.
I was happerly colouring with my copics and almost forgot about the paper piecing but remembered in the nick of time and managed to find a couple of scraps to piece the outfits there both wearing! And keeping with the kiss theme the papers are the new eskimo kisses pad by basic grey.

Pink & Brown

are all limited production stamps for the
It's a girl thing Fundraiser

I decided 'Pure of Heart' would be the ideal stamp to use on my card.

As always i coloured with my copics, papers are a mix of DCWV and BG.
Other stamps i used were BG swirls and text by Innovate from the Friendship plate.
I am really pleased with how this turned out, i can see this becoming a new favourite stamp :)

The Sugar Bowl #17

Just managing to fit this one in, i tried to post it before i went away but my photo upload was not having any of it but it seems to be ok now so here finally is my entry for The Sugar Bowl, sketch courtesy of Judy with the added promp to use your own homemade flowers.

I thought i'd try the circle flowers i keep seeing on everyones blogs and figured that they went quite well with a boy theme card, i used the fabby manga boy {i adore these stamps} and played some more with my sewing machine stitching practically all the papers i used.
Normal service hasn't quite returned as i still have my best friends upcoming wedding to attend but i should be back blogging regularly after that!!! well thats what i'm hoping anyways lol

TSB #14

Oh yay, its that time again over at The Sugar Bowl
A fab new sketch, this time by Gayle
with the prompt to use
Ribbons and/or Bows
Not only that but you have the chance to win the amazingly fantastic "I NEED THEM ALL" new Manga stamps.. they're awesome!
...
So here is my take on the sketch...
As you can see i rotated it 90 degrees as it fit in better with how i saw the card looking in my head. Finally, i got to ink up this fab gorjuss from set 3, isn't she cute, coloured her with.. yep you guessed it.. my copics! apart from her skirt which i paper pieced to match the background papers which were all from MME, i used my Slice to cut the shapes and wording,
and finished with an assortment of ribbons/bows and a couple of paper roses.
Thanks for coming to see me and my cards, your welcome back any time

The Sugar Bowl #13

LUCKY for me!

as my mojo has returned with full strenght today. YAY!
As usual the Sugar Bowl sketch {this time by Lilian} is FAB and the "must include" which i've remembered this time is to use the colour KRAFT {or brown & cream} somewhere on the card. I had to remember this time as there is a chance to win the 3rd set of 6 Gorjuss Girls and i SOOOOOO NEED these!!

This is the sketch...
And this is my take on it..
I needed to make up a couple of fathers day cards and as i have hardly any cute boy stamps the super SN Owl i got free with this months CS mag was perfect!
I just love owls and this has to be one of the cutest i've seen, i coloured them with copics.
I used "kraft" corragated card here there and well everywhere including making the flowers from it!
I also used some natural string, sandpaper and even the letter tiles were "kraft" coloured.
All in all i'm really happy with this card,
but i best be quick and get it posted or it will be late!
Thanks for visiting xx Come back soon

The Sugar Bowl #12

Right now before you say anything i know... i know.. this isn't Blue and Green {although there is the tiniest bit of green on the stem of the flower if that counts lol}... being the muppet that i am and so eager to get a card done in time for this challenge {new one tomorrow i believe} i totally forgot about the colour scheme... what a plank i am.. but its done now and figured as it took me all night and half of this morning to do i would share it anyways lol
This was the awesome sketch i had to follow

And here is my take on it...

I coloured my fav "Guardian Angel" gorjuss image using watercolour pencils, first time i've tryed these and i quite like the effect you get although like my other colouring in i'll need more practice.
I used cuttlebug embossed card, CI paper, ribbon and acetate to follow the layout, and embellished with wired beads, gems and flowers.

Here's hoping i can get things right on the next one!!
Thanks for dropping by x

Sugar Bowl #11

Yay... i've been playing in the SB again.. and this time the lovely Kathy has produced a fabby sketch
And the prompt was to use Pearls

Just practicing the black and white colouring again on the image gave the whole card a bit of a goth/punk feel so i carried it on using black and pink card and papers, some yummy black lace and gorjuss black mullberry paper roses.
Apart from the fact i think the black pearl headband looks a tad like a monobrow on the image i like how this turned out!
xx Hugz & Thanks for stopping by xx

Materials used: Patterned card, Vellum, Lace, Cuttlebug die cut wordding.
Gorjuss girl {set2} Promarkers, Black and pearl string beads.
Mullberry roses, Prima flowers, Metal corner.

Sugar Bowl #10

I've had a sweet tooth again, could be something to do with the sweet sweet challenge blog The Sugar Bowl
Not only do i get to use my fav stamps but they have decided to move forward as a sketch challenge, WOO HOO I'm in challenge heaven.
This time round the fab Marlene has provided a super sketch and there is also a prompt....to use buttons!
This is the sketch...

And this is what I've done with it..

I just got myself the Greys set of promarkers after seeing the fab black and white work of Kim Costello in this months Craft Stamper.
Totally inspired i thought i'd give it a try... well mines not quite as good but i think with a bit of practice i could get better.. i'll be trying anyway LOL
I used a cuttlebug embossing folder to create the agapanthus bloom{wish}.
The embossed side i was going to use, i completely fluffed up so turned it over, rubbed it with some black soot distress ink and hay presto its usable again debossed!
I stamped the long blooms {stampendous} in the background and stamped the single bloom {also stampendous} twice onto white card, cutting it to give the edge texture and for it to stand out more, and added a button for the centre which i attached with shiny black thread.
I ribbon used is a fluffy ric rak by papermania and i added a few more smaller buttons to the ends of the embossed blooms for effect. Last but not least i finished with a diecut "hello friend" which is in black core'dinations paper, sanded back to reveal a very pale shade of pink {which isn't showing on the photo}

Sugar Bowl #8 - Tiets Sketch #2

Well this is my very first time playing along in The Sugar Bowl and to be honest it was a bit of a challenge.. i haven't quite mastered the art of combining lots of different patterned papers and making it look good, i feel there is definatly a fine line between WOW and OMG yuck lol.. i'm hoping that mine comes under the first lol

Anyhow here it is my attempt at this great sketch by Tiets

I coloured one of my FAB gorjuss girls using copics,
used a selection of random scraps of paper i had in my box,
and created the wording using my around the block label maker.
I finished with a smirk brad that i wrapped some black funky fibre around.

Thanks for stopping by.... and please leave a comment it makes my day.
