About Me

My photo
Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom
I have been crafting since May 2008, when in desperation to find an unusual birthday card for my Mum, I gave up looking in the shops and decided to have a go at making my own. I soon realised that crafting is addictive and I haven't brought a card since. In 2011 I completed my certificate in papercrafting as a result of the work I did as part of the course I started entering challenges on line and in magazines. I applied for design teams and also started making samples for Ooh La La Creations for their shows on Create and Craft. I have now completed my Diploma in professional crafting and most recently been runner up in the Papercrafter of the Year 2013 a competition run by Papercraft essentials magazine, I don't have a particular style I like to use elements from lots of styles and techniques, although I do love all things vintage. In 2014 I started to move more towards scrapbooking to take care of the huge family archive of photographs that were stored in my attic. I have continued cardmaking and Scrapbooking through 2015 and 2016 but have also become interested in off the page projects. I hope to be able focus on these in the future.

Lets Celebrate at Fab n Funky

Hello it's time for the first DT card for Fab n Funky Challenges for 2014 and the theme for this weeks challenge is Let's Celebrate. We are sponsored by this week by

I used their Friends don't let Friends wine alone 2 stamp which you can purchase here

I coloured the stamp using spectrum Noir markers. The background was in my stash and I added a large gold 50 to this which I had embossed  one of my work colleagues turns 50 in march so this will be a fun card for her as I have already been asked to make the card from our group to her. I die cut the bunting using Tattered Lace Bunting Alphabet cutting it from black card then sticking it to gold card and trimming each piece individually before adding to the top of the card.

Fab n Funky Halloween

Good morning everyone,

Big THANK YOU from all of us for playing along. If you want to know if you were one of our lucky winners, then please check the Fab n Funky Challenge blog

Now on to this weeks challenge and the theme is

Halloween

Our sponsor this week

Bugaboo Stamps

We had some great images to work with and I chose Silhouette - Happy Halloween Cat from bugaboo stamps to make a really simple easel card.

I printed the image onto white card stock and then coloured it using a Bright Orange Promarker, to add a mottled effect to teh background I coloured over some of the areas at random several times to get a deeper tone.

I then printed the image again and fussy cut the cat to give a bit of dimension to the card. Finally I added some bats spiders and a pumpkin from some Halloween confetti I had left over from last year.

The stopper on the card is a piece of spider web paper that I had left over from another project.

You can Stick it at Fab n Funky

Good Morning everyone,

It's time for another challenge  at Fab 'n Funky. Thank you to all that joined us in last week's challenge, what wonderfully summery projects you shared with us and over 100 entries too. To see if you were chosen as the winner pop over to the challenge blog and take a look.

This week it's Ciska's turn to choose the theme and I've chosen:

"You Can Stick It" or Use Stickers or Peel Offs on your project (anything that sticks on its own really)

Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo, who provided us with some great images.

I used their Paisley Elephant design to make my card with an Indian feel to it.

I started by adding black peel off paisley shapes to my white base card and colouring some of designs with a gold marker pen. The backing paper is from My Craft Studio Magical Mystical Metallics CD Rom and I matted this onto gold and red mirror card and trimmed to leave a narrow border. I printed the elephant onto super smooth card stock and filled in some for the pattern using a gold marker pen. matted him onto gold then red mirror card and added the peel off corners and borders.

I printed the sentiment on the computer and chose a font that had a slight Sanskrit look to the letter shapes. I then added the dancing Krishna peel off to red mirror card and fussy cut around the  edges and added them to the card. finishing of with some black gems.

Six Down Eighteen to go.

This week at Through The Purple Haze Challenge Blog they are playing Bingo, There is also a face off challenge between the DT members with a vote for the favourite DT card. My vote is cast and my lips are sealed as to who I have chosen.

Here is my Entry for this weeks Bingo Challenge I chose three papers, pearls and ribbon, from the Bingo grid provided.

The papers are all from the Pastel Preludes CD from My craft studio, which I bought a few weeks ago. I cut them into hexagons using a sizzix die and my bigshot and assembled the patchwork onto pale pink card which was then trimmed to leave a border. This was mounted onto a lovely pale coloured kraft card that I bought recently.

I wrapped the panel in a pretty pale pink organza ribbon and added a Bow in the same ribbon and a double bow in the pink satin ribbons. I visited my dad's a few weeks ago and there is a haberdashers in the town where he lives where they sell off the ends of their ribbon reels for a few pence, I always visit and stock up on ribbon when I am there because it is such good value. I added two pearl pins to the bow and stuck the whole panel to a 6x6 base card.

The image is a beautiful digi stamp from Bugaboo from their Beautiful Blocks range  and I used My Craft Studio to change the print colour from black to a sepia tome and then coloured the flowers using Spectrum Noirs PP2, PP3 and PP4. The stamp panel was then mounted on the pale pink card and more of the pale kraft card. Before I added 4 tiny pearls to the corners.
