Review:
We were fortunate enough to receive a "Ultimate Camp Pack" to review...
We chose one of the new designs for Princess. It is called "Whimsical Love Story", with Princessy themed icons (crowns, castles, frog princes, and more) that suit her to a "T".  They are bright and colourful! She set out to label her things. These labels went on everything from her recital costumes, sun hat, water bottles, and the bag tags have yet to find a home but will soon I am sure of that. I really like the bag tags and will most likely go on her travel bags for summer trip to Grampie and Nana's.

They are secured by a ball chain and link that you close with pliers for tightened closure.
The clothing labels (Press n' Stick®) are my favourite by far in the "Ultimate Camp Pack" because they stay on the clothes through the washer and dryer (yes we did try it). And trying to remove them off clothing is not an easy deed at all. in fact it is quite a struggle to remove them, so I gave up for fear of destroying the clothing.

And the same goes for the shoe labels... they are amazing and stay where they are put, gripping the surface with an incredible strength.

I have to say that the adhesive backing on the labels are very very sticky, when you are applying them, which is great and makes them a trustworthy product. The labels make me feel confident that the items will return with her. The labels stay where you put them, making each item like a boomerang and they will be sure to come back to us everyday.

To be honest, the price point of the "Ultimate Camp Pack" is very reasonable and we will most likely be ordering some for the Monkey as he is to begin his own educational journey this September. Lovable Labels Back To School Review and Giveaway!!!

Well.... where has the summer gone??? It is back to school time for us here in Canada and many of you readers have had your children start school already!!
It just seemed like yesterday I was dreading the thought of what to do with the kids for the summer, and now the summer is coming to an end. Princess B is starting Senior Kindergarten in September and we have lagged in our summer brain activities, even though I spent over $100 on activity books and downloads and organizing activities for her and the Monkey to do this summer. We did have fun ignoring the need to keep out brains from running on empty from lack of knowledge.
Here is a few pictures of the activity we did do that was Fun-educational for the two of them...

We played a Pirate ABC and Sight Word Scavenger Hunt. I gave Princess B a pile of sight word cards and Monkey a pile of ABC cards then used Monkey's birthday gift at Pirate Ship Water Table filled with foam ABCs and Magnetic letters mixed up and had them run from the kitchen with a card to the Pirate Ship and find either the letter on the card for the Monkey or the sight word for Princess. Princess also had to read the word out loud before searching for it and Monkey had to tell me the letter he was looking for (on his card). It was a blast watching them run to search for the information on their cards. They also had buckets to fill with the letter or letters to match their cards. Monkey loved running back and forth with the letter and asking if he had the right letter match. Princess was a little reluctant in reading the word but I assured her that the word would help her read her books when she learned them which made it more fun!

I found some great resources on Pinterest for sight words and learning to read. One of my new favourite sites to visit, and it became handing for family trip to New Brunswick is Education.com. You will find learning resources and games for every age level from babies to high school. We enjoyed the sight word bingo and the games that centred around trains and ladybugs. If you are in need of some fun resources to get your little learner back into the grind, check them out. They are colourful and fun for all ages!

September is here....Back to School....First day of JK and Pieces of Me Pendant Giveaway

I can't believe it September already!!! Where has the summer gone??? Now that it is September...we all know what this means.... BACK TO SCHOOL!!!
This next week will be the hardest for me because Princess B is starting JK...we decide to enrol her in school rather than me homeschooling her for a different perspective on the world. Here in Ontario, the provincial school system has introduced "play-based learning" and it means a lot less sitting down and more interaction and hands-on learning. I will still work with her at home for about 1-2 hours on her off days (she only goes 2 1/2 hours per day where she is 2 days on one week and 3 days on the following week alternatively). She has been begging me to teach her to read so we will be working on the word families and Dolce sight words. See my printable Word Family sort Mats...which I will be adding more next week, so you can learn along with us. I have been using the tutorial by The Snail's Trail on homemade word family game, made from paint chips (oh how I love paint chips...I have a secret addiction to them....no really I do!) We will also be using some stuff from the blog, The Moffat Girls who have a Ready2Read  and other printables to help with learning.
I have been having bouts of insomnia as result of my anxiousness for Princess B going to school. One night all I could think of was someone trying to abduct her...which lead to a huge discussion about "Stranger Danger" and different scenarios.
How did you approach the issue of "Stranger Danger" with your kids???
It is an important issue but how did you explain it? We discussed different instances where someone might approach her when she is in a certain setting...not that she'll be out of my sight but at school it is different...1 teacher to 20 some kids....what if is I all I can say.

Our Review: We were given the opportunity to try all three applications out from CIBN. We are using the application on a MAC. What I really liked was the fact that if a wrong colour was chosen the paint tube of the correct number/ colour would jump until you chose it. It was very easy to use and user friendly. Princess loved the "Princess" application while Monkey, still a little to young to know the right way like the animals and vehicles, especially the trains. Princess loved searching for the numbers and finding them then choosing the colours to use for each picture. It was a big hit on too levels, the colouring book applications but also the fact that they were able to use Mama's computer. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Princess identify the numbers and colours, a huge help to gauge her progress in homeschooling. She loved asking me what colour she should choose next and then finding it. We started identifying in numerical order but this soon became a free for all. Princess loved choosing the colours herself the best. I liked the idea that the music and celebrations at the completion of the picture to be its own reward, making Princess feel important. Here are some screen shots from the applications...
