Hello!
It's another sweltering day here in Brisbane. Autumn was supposed to start four weeks ago. It hasn't arrived yet... I did hear on the radio that we will have "lovely Autumn weather" over the next week with average temps sitting at 28 degrees celcius (82.5F). Average of 28???? That's not COOL in any sense of the word! So we'll hit Easter break and jump into the pool to cool off, lol!
Here I am, ignoring the hot and humid evening, to bring you my contribution to the latest Fusion Challenge, where we have the most irresistible yellow cupcake on offer. :-) I turned the sketch upside down to create a fusion card.
I used SU! Create a Cupcake stamps and punch. I used PTI spiral notebook die and MFT paperclip die. Papers are SU!
Mmmm! Yellow, grey, and white! A beautiful colour combination with a cupcake inspiration added into the mix. So much fun!
Thanks for visiting!

CASE Study #170 and some cockatoos
Hello!
I didn't want to miss CASE Study this week. The inspiration is a delicious-looking cupcake! So I sat down quickly before bed tonight to make a card. My card does have sparkles, gold, and glitter, but it didn't photograph well.
A relatively literal interpretation of the inspiration photo.
Thank-you for coming to visit!

I also thought I'd join in at CAS-ual Fridays (Let It Snow)
and Addicted to CAS (Snowflakes)
Before I go, I thought I'd share some cockatoos. I took my daughter for her first horse-riding lesson last week-end, and at the pony club I found a flock of cockatoos feasting on some sort of tree seeds. I adore cockatoos. They are very noisy, but they are very beautiful! This group were about 10 birds together. Gorgeous!Thank-you for coming to visit!

A pocketful of candles (CQC181 and CTS20)
Hello!
Today it is hot. I'm wondering when Autumn will decide to arrive. I'm about to melt! I keep looking at those beautiful snowy Spring photos from everyone in the USA and Europe, who are wondering when the heat will arrive, and I think we should swap!
Today I bring you this card.
I made the card in response to two challenges. ColourQ #181
and CAS(E) This Sketch #20
Last night I attended my daughter's Swim Club Presentation Night. It was the end of the competitive swim season for the kids who aren't going on to the Nationals. They were presented their trophies by the Olympic Swimmers from our club. We have ten of them, yes TEN Olympic swimmers in our one club. Our little kids are blessed to have such amazingly talented team mates swimming alongside them. The end of the competitive season doesn't mean an end to swim training. They get the month of April off, but then it is back into the pool all the way through Winter until the comp season starts up again in Spring.
This photo is my daughter collecting her Club Night trophy from Mitch Larkin (who is one of her favourite swimmers).
Thanks for coming to visit me!
Oh, I meant to mention, if you would like to follow me on Facebook, I have set up a page for Amusing Michelle. I haven't quite figured out exactly what I'm doing there yet. I'm definitely sharing cards, but I hope to make it something a little more than that... feel free to come along for the journey while I work it all out. :-)

Happy 4th Birthday, my darling!
Hello!
Today is my littlest girl's 4th birthday. I have been thinking about this card for weeks. My little girl is VERY particular, and I've been trying to figure out how to interpret her requests for her card so that she loves the outcome. Yesterday she added to the list of requests that she wanted a cake on her card and that she wanted to "see it from the bottom". With that unreasonable and impossible request in my mind, I decided to just go ahead and make a card with cupcakes, LOL!
The colour scheme today I have taken from The Play Date Cafe Challenge #96:
I don't have that pale mint colour, so I had to dig deep into my card stash to find something similar; and because I had to dip into my stash for much of this card, I am entering it into the Just Add Ink Challenge #82 this week, which calls on us to "use something from our stash"! I had to dig so deep that I can't even remember what the coral patterned paper is - maybe from SU Raspberry Tart?
The card I made has four cupcakes for the fourth birthday. I used SU Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla, and Sage Shadow. I used the Build a Cupcake punch and the Create a Cupcake stamp set. The other patterned paper is Pebbles Happy Go Lucky Carefree.
The photo is terrible. It was taken very early this morning, and we have a very, very dull day outside. Even sitting right beside the window, there was barely any light.
The good news is that my little girl loves her cupcake card, even though it uses green and she doesn't like green because "green isn't in a real rainbow", LOL. I think the card passed muster because the big sister gave the little sister a rainbow skirt as a present, and she was distracted by how BEAUTIFUL her new skirt was.
What do you think?

Happy Birthday!
Hello!
First of all, a little excitement here in my little patch of the world. I received my first ever official recognition in a challenge! Woo hoo! I received an Honorable Mention in the Top Picks for this card at Just Add Ink 75. Yay! And now on to the reason for my post. . .
Do you suffer from anxiety when you have to make a birthday card for your stamping friends? I do! And especially when it is a birthday card for the person who has taught me just about every techinque I know! This is why last week-end I couldn't get anything much created. I had my ideas but they wouldn't translate to paper, and then the birthday crept closer and closer, so yesterday I bit the bullet and sat down to create. And I'm pretty happy with the outcome, so happy that I made a second version for my sister's birthday tomorrow. And you know what? It takes 2 hours to make the first prototype, and 15 minutes to do the subsequent ones. . . why don't I make multiples more often? LOL!

Eggplant...Fuschia...Orangesicle
When I finished making the first card, I decided that I hadn't captured Fuschia in the equation, so my second attempt is the challenge entry:
This card is a Joy Fold card that I found in the Just Add Ink Fancy Folding Challenge a little while ago. I'm still working through the inspiration I found there, it was awesome! I took my instructions from Chantell (thanks for the clear instructions!) and more inspiration also from Susan, whose beautiful card surpasses mine totally, so I'll just have to keep working on improving this one!
It opens up like this:
And inside is:
My other card is this one:
Well, techniques used included bleach stamping (did you know that if you water down your bleach you get a different effect? common sense, but I discovered this along the way), thumping, rock'n'rolling, shimmer mist, colouring stamps with markers (or stamping spots when you don't have the marker!), and probably others I haven't listed, LOL! I think I tried to squeeze every technique into one card.
Colours used (which surprised the socks off me that they worked together): All SU - Pure Plum, Perfect Plum, More Mustard (pretending to be orangesicle here), Pink Passion (on the challenge entry for fuschia).
So, what do you think?

Cupcakes
The other day, I received my latest stamping treasures. It has taken me a week to find any time to play with them. But today was the day. Nothing spectacular yet, I was just playing around with colours and seeing how the stamps and the punch worked together before moving on to something a bit more exciting. Since it has been a long, long time since my last post, I am sharing my experiments with you as a little wave HELLO.
On another note, I can't resist sharing this little Easter gift I received from my very talented friend, Manda. I love this idea, the base is already keeping my pens safe at my desk. The "flowers" are sitting in the fridge away from ants. :-)
I hope to be back soon to show you some more cupcake creations!
