Your patience is finally being rewarded!

Last week I said that I'd share more of the cards I created for my upcoming "Favorite's Cards - Shapes" class at Collective Journeys - and the day has finally come!  Let's take a look!

Hot Air Balloon Card

Hey Cupcake Card

A BIG Thanks Card

So that's the rest of them.  The class is this Saturday at 10:30 at Collective Journey's - give them a call to sign up 909.793.2200 - I think there's still spots left!

And remember to check over at the Page's blog - I just started showing the latest DT projects - I think you'll be very inspired.

I'll be back later this week with something delicious to share!

Happy July Fourth Weekend!

Hello!

I am so happy that it's a 4 day weekend in our household... 4 days off together... sigh.  It's a great thing.  We're also taking a little overnight trip on the 4th to San Diego so we can go to... drum roll please... Legoland!  Whoot whoot!  Adam has no idea what legoland is, but he knows that it's exciting!  We also get to watch fireworks from the beach, which is always so amazing.  Anyways, I wanted to show you a little of what I've been working on lately... just in case you're taking advantage of this long weekend to get some crafting done!

For the Page's DT challenge this month we were supposed to work with a grid design.  So, here's my layout:
I did a pumpkin patch/Halloween page... I know, it's a little strange in June but it's what worked!  So, I painted my background and then sewed on a grid with my sewing machine.  I then added wallet sized photos of the two cutest little pumpkin hunters EVER!  I cut from MM Toil and Trouble Halloween paper the "Double Double Toil and Trouble" little poem and used it as my title.  Here's a few close-ups.

I used little miscellaneous doo-dads on the rest of the squares... transparencies, buttons, patterned paper, work stickers... this is a great way to use scraps!

Here's a card that I created with the same grid concept.  This was a super quick card - took me about 10 minutes.  Take a look.

I punched out a few scallop circles and glued them down, evenly spaced.  If my sewing machine hadn't have been put away, I'd have sewn down the centers of each scallop circle.  I added a punched star with button on one of the circle, then a little tab at the top and a Pink Paislee Soiree number stamp on the top.  When I figure out who gets this card for their birthday, I'll put clear dew drops over the number of the birthday!

If you want to see more of the challenge, head on over to www.pagesfromtheheart.blogspot.com.

And, here's 2 cards that I'm going to be teaching in July's card class at Collective Journey.  Call them and sign up if you're interested - 909.793.2200.  The class date is July 16th, 10:30-1:00.

AND

Have you guessed the theme?  It's a shaped card class.  We'll be creating 5 cards that all are different shapes - it was fun creating these cards because once you have a shaped card, making it cute is pretty easy!

I'll share more of the cards from the class next week, or you can stop into Collective Journey's to see the samples.

And one more picture to share!  Phew - this is a long post!  My BFF (19 years and counting) was in town from KY for a few days and our kids got to play together... there's not much that I like better than watching our kids play together.

Hope everyone has a great and safe 4th!

Finally! Paper projects to share!

Hello, everyone!  Thanks for being so patient - if you follow me because you  like my papercrafting, you've probably been a little bored lately with all of the sewing talk... and lack of any talk!  But, I've been making up for all of the time spent sewing by working with my normals... Kutz, Paper and Scissors (not to mention glue, distress ink, ribbons)!

I have a card class coming up this Saturday at Collective Journey - here's what we'll be making!
Do you remember that one?  It's one of my favorites and it was supposed to be in last months class that had to be cancelled, so I was happy to bring it back this month!

My Mustache Macho Man card is sure to please... well... it pleases me anyways!  I still want to sew on the top of the mustaches but that'll have to wait till after the class because I'm not lugging my sewing machine around!

My Dad's a classic, maybe you someone else that this card would be great for?  And Dad, if you ever check my blog, I don't mean classic as in old, but timeless and solid and good and you'll never go out of style in my opinion.

Does this card look familiar?  It should, but just different paper and theme.  Still very cute, though!

A cute little Thank You card to have on hand - I have to say thank you A LOT!  Thank goodness I don't have any "I'm Sorry" cards, or I'd have to admit when I was wrong!

This one is probably my favorite that I created for this class - I love the MyMindsEye Americana paper and how it lends itself for a more vintage look - mixed with the Tim Holtz dress form, button and thread spool, it's perfect!

That's it for today!  I'll share close ups of these cards next week along with some tips, but I have to save some of my knowledge for the class!

Later, alligators!

Let's share..

Hello!  Happy Monday!

I hope that everyone had a great weekend!  I know I did, it was kind of a "dream" weekend for me, meaning I loved every single day of it!

Friday I had a "Girls Night" with one of my BFF's... we had pedi's (my feet are still sighing with relief), did a little craft shopping, went to dinner and ended our night with a little chocolate covered cheesecake from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and totally unsuitable "girl talk"!

Saturday we hung out around the house, I worked on projects for the Kissui Craft Fair and we picked paint for our house.  I hate to iron, but for some reason, ironing fabric that you're going to make fun stuff with doesn't bother me like ironing shirts does!

Yesterday was a great day at Page's National Scrapbook Day crop!  I was, hmmm, working(?) it, but basically got to sit, chat with some great ladies and work on my own projects!  Don't worry, I'll share very soon!  And don't forget to check out Page's blog, where you'll see what Michelle created for our Design Team - she's awesome and totally inspiring!

But, I was looking at my past posts and it's been soo long since I've posted a paper craft that I was more than a little shocked!  I've had these cards waiting to be displayed for over a month!  What was I thinking?

Butterfly Shape Card

I love this card!  I used my Silhouette SD to create the Butterfly shape of the card and cue the patterned paper for the butterfly.  All the patterned paper is October Afternoon's 5&Dime paper - which I LOVE!  The flower is a yo-yo flower that I made just by scoring, folding and flattening.  It's a very simple, quick card but has a ton of cuteness because of the shape and the paper!

And here's another card - I do love a good mustache...

This card is made with Crate paper's Toy Shoppe line - I can't get enough of it!  I love the vintage feel that it has while being super cool.  I die cut the mustaches from my LifeStyle Crafts Mustache Cookie Cutter dies.  The "Macho" are October Afternoon stickers.  I can't decide if this card is for Papa or Alan for Father's Day, they both have pretty amazing mustaches...

I'll see you tomorrow where I'll be sharing a project that I did for the Page's DT!

Some fun news!

Well, today is April 1st which means that the deadline for the Pages From the Heart Design Team submissions closed last night!  And, I am happy to report that I had quite a few submissions up until 11:58 pm last night!  Phew, you ladies have given me a lot to look at and review, so thank you so much for applying!  We'll be getting in touch with our new team next week and do the official announcement later in the month!

And, if you check out the Glitz Blog, you'll see one of my projects on today's blog!  Yay!  I was so excited to get an email from Glitz asking to use the Tag/Treat bag combo that I created for Marches Favorite's Cards Class!  Please check it out - click here to be taken to it!

This week was super busy for me, I got back into town on Tuesday and immediately registered Adam for preschool (super excited and still taken a little aback that he's ready for this next step!) and then we went to Disneyland with my nephew and his little sister who were in town from TN and NV!  I promise to share what I worked on this last weekend away tomorrow, I'm pretty happy with it!

IF you haven't signed up for my April Favorites Cards class at Collective Journey's, there's still room!  Please call 909-793-2200 to sign up, the class date is April 3rd, 12:30 pm and the cost is $25.  Here's the cards that we'll be creating in the class.

Well, it's time to play outside in our little swimming pool - it's a hot one today!  I think it's in the 90's - yuck!

See you all soon!

Happy St. Patricks!

I made green eggs today.  I was then told that a little someone wanted yellow eggs... green eggs looked gross.  I then tried green milk - again, I was told that milk is supposed to be either white or brown.  Hmm, I can only imagine what he would've done if he'd found the pot of gold!  Probably sent it back because it didn't have chocolate in it!  Crazy little lovie.

I wanted to share a card that I made recently.  It's a sweet baby card, it's based on the baby card that I created for the baby shower that was lost in the Desktop crash of 2011 - I've decided that it deserved a title!

It's a card with both Girls Paperie paper and a little October Afternoon.  Can you see the little flag?  Above the flower?  Flags are pretty cool right now!

Hope everyone had plenty of green food to last them another year!

A productive kind of day...

although, I did have to explain to my little guy why we couldn't go to the park, or Disneyland everyday... he said it's not very much fun being "sponsisisibul".  I couldn't agree more, smart boy.  But, we went to Target, had a Jamba Juice for a treat, then went onto Collective Journey's 'cause Mama needs some new paper!  Crate Paper, that is!  And I plan to spend the weekend cutting and playing with it!  Yay!  I even finished a banner using Graphic45's Once Upon a Springtime so that I could concentrate on Toy Box, or Emma's Shoppe, I might even take a stroll through the Neighborhood... lots of fun with an awesome paper company!

I'm also hoping to actually do a little bit of sewing - my machine is starting to collect dust and I have a few ideas swimming in my head of projects for my little guy and my sweet nephew.

And last, here's ANOTHER card - I know, I feel like all I do anymore is cards!

{Spring is in the Air Card removed for Publication!}

For this card I used The Girls Paperie paper.  I also used a large scallop punch, small circle punches (to create the scallops), a label punch, a bird cage stamp and a butterfly embossing/die cutting die.  I know it's hard to tell, but I stamped the bird cage on a transparency with black staz-on ink, then I cut it out and glued it to the label.
This card is coming up in my April "Favorites" Cards class at Collective Journeys, so please call and sign up!

Happy Friday night!  Hope you get to sleep in tomorrow!  I know that's my goal!

A little bit of pretty

is what I'm in the mood to share tonight...

Aren't these silhouettes adorable?  This is a Hero Art's cling stamp, and I've been ohh-ing and aww-ing over it for a few months... so, I decided to buy it to use in a class - everyones happy!  At least, I'm happy!  This card is super simple, just a lot of layers, an easy fold/pleat technique and pretty, soft paper.

And a pretty card using Echo Parks new line - Springtime.

The stamp is actually a Unity Stamp from Echo park... or is it an Echo Park Stamp from Unity?  I dunno... but, I know that I love the 2-seater bicycle!  It's from their Valentine line - which was awesome and vintag-ie and a little bit Parisian...

Both of these cards will be in my March Favorite Cards class at Collective Journeys.

I don't have any classes this weekend... I'm planning to squeeze in some time to work on a springtime banner using Graphic45's Once Upon a Springtime and hopefully a little "me" time to play with the new Crate Paper lines - they just came in at CJ's and I can hardly wait!  I've been trying to get down there all week!
Hope you have some crafty goodness planned for the weekend!

Another preview...

Here's another card sample from "My Favorite Cards" class at Collective Journeys.

{Ships Ahoy Card}

This paper line is October Afternoon's Seaside - which I love!  I think this line is super fun... it's beachy, Americana, boyish, babyish... I think it really has something for everyone!  The only thing that needs to be added is the sentiment, I'm thinking a banner coming off the star???  The LifeStyle Crafts banner???  Hmmm - I'll sleep on that...

And on that note, I'm exhausted today!  Had a little kicky visitor climb into bed around 5 am this morning, and for some reason, having little toes curl into my back and then a swift elbow to my face and my pillow stolen didn't lull me back to sleep...

I'm gonna veg in front of horrible reality TV, shower and then hit the hay!
Hope your night is whatever you need it to be!

It's been bugging me..

all day... wondering why I wasn't able to add my pictures to my last blog post...

So, since the LOML and I are waiting for Hal (LOML named our broke-as-a-joke desktop) to update before we go to bed, I thought I'd give it one more try.

Yay, Blogger did it!

Here's a sample of a fun card that is coming up in my Favorites class at Collective Journey's this month.

{Stampn' Up stamps, Girls Paperie paper, Cuttlebug dot embosser}

{Close-up - love the pink/white twine!}

Yes, it's a coffee filter that I stamped on and then punched and then inked and sprayed - I wanted it to look like a pattern piece... I'm pretty happy with it!  And talk about a good use of scraps!

I'm at Pages tomorrow... I think that I have 1 spot!  Stop by and see me!  And don't forget, submit your work for the Design Team!  Try us, you'll like us!
