Silver Mirrors and Jewelry
~ two of my favorite things ~

Most of you know that I have tons of mirrors and that I also sell mirrors
here on eBay.
I love the way they reflect light, make rooms appear larger, and add romance.

Love the special silver accents on this one ......
~ original silver metal FLEUR clips ~

I am currently offering this unique glittery one here.
AND she is even marked down!!

~ Rare glittery swirls just S*P*A*R*K*L*E in the light! ~

I also love silver rhinestone jewelry
like this miniature tiara,
a gift from my dear friend Lori.

I have made and designed jewelry for over 10 years.
This is a sweet petite angel I made.

I so enjoy seeing everyone's pictures on SILVER SUNDAY. Our sweet hostess Beth of Gypsy Fish Journal has a list of all of today's participants here, so stop by, tell her hi, and make some new friends!

SILVER SUNDAY 4-11-2010

I've been busy polishing my silver again and decided it was time to pull it out of the china hutch and display a few of my favorite pieces!

Just in time for SILVER SUNDAY hosted by our wonderful Beth at Gypsy Fish Journals ~ click here to see today's participants ~ you won't believe all the stunning silver that is always shared!

My newest wall grouping

One with the light on.......

I've become pretty good at taking mirror pictures, but picturing silver is even more tricky for me.
It took several shots on a super sun-shiney day to get the right look.
And I DIDN'T use a flash!

My recent estate sale find ~ a gorgeous handpainted ROSES lamp
~ looks like it could be a Limoges ~

Yep, I light candles ~ day OR night!

Most of our silver was gifted to us for our wedding.

The two large trays hubby surprised me with when he "overheard" me saying that I needed some really large ones for a wall I was hoping to someday do!

I love my pink glass tree toppers and blinged out ornie ~ and Yes, they stay out year-round ~ usually in our bedroom.

Love the braided trim at the top of the old lampshade. Wish I knew the correct name for it.

My silver water pitcher with pink roses gets moved around quite often.

It and the footed cake stand are two of my very favorite silver pieces.

I added a silver multi-mirrored stand for added height at one end

and my silver glittered WISH word.

I chose to add one of my vintage wedding shawls for some extra texture and interest.

The pink glass toppers and ornie all came from HomeGoods right before Christmas.

I had put off doing this project for fear that it wouldn't turn out right or that my walls would have holes in them resembling Swiss Cheese, but I shouldn't have worried. I simply gathered up all the silver I had that either had special meaning to me or was extremely decorative around the edges, measured my wall space, laid out a similar size rectangle on the floor and started playing around with the silver til I got it in a pleasing pattern for me. It helps to add different shapes, round, rectangular, oval, large and small. I even added one small round silverplated coaster to help fill in one small space.

It is easier if you start with your middle larger pieces and work out from there when hanging. And don't forget to draw a diagram of how you want it all to look, as I found out the hard way that what I lay on the floor MIGHT just get picked up by a well-meaning hubby while I'm gone. (Now if I could teach him to just pick up his shoes.....) I did run to a favorite antique mall and pick up two smaller oval trays to round out the mix. In all, I used 15 pieces, which might be a bit much for some rooms, but luckily we have 20 ft. ceilings in our room, so I could even add more........just kidding, honey!!
