Washi tape dp tutorial

Hi all!  Remember when I mentioned I'd be posting a tutorial on how I made the striped dp on my Gus Mantastic card that you can see HERE?  Well, here ya go!  This was SO EASY that I hesitate to call it a tutorial!  I bought this paper tape, aka washi tape, at Target in the office supply section.  They come in a pack of 4 rolls (different designs but same color scheme) for $4.  I hadn't used it before but was curious because it's become so popular.  All I did was take a piece of plain white cardstock and started lining up the tape.  Now because it's PAPER tape, you can reposition it and it won't tear the paper!  It took me minutes to line up the lines {my sporadic OCD kicked in!}.  Here's how it looked when I started...

And here's how it looked when I was done covering the paper.  You can either cut off the excess but I chose to just wrap around the other side of the cardstock.

And here's another pic of the finished card.  Yes, I used a corner rounder on my "washi dp" and it worked just fine!

I hope I've inspired you to try paper tape!  Thanks for stopping by!

For my second card, I've used Gus Mantastic!  Oh, this guy cracks me up every time!  Couldn't resist this sentiment!  Totally different card than the other one, huh?  I was going for a more bold, beachy vibe.  And that cool striped dp???  I made it with washi tape!!!  Be on the look out for a tutorial!  ;)  And yes, his nose looks white because I thought he'd look cool with that lifeguard "suncreen" nose look, lol!

TS Monday - 3D projects

Hiiiii! How's everyone?! By the time you're reading this, hopefully I'm well on my way to recouping from our middle son's baseball tournament! Getting up at 5:45 am for a baseball game on a Sunday just isn't right... {we had to get up that early to allow him time to get ready, eat and get to the field 45 min. before game time... yea, good times} On to my project...
The Totally Stampalicious challenge this week is a 3D project. I HAD to make this Christmas Shopping List Holder after I saw THIS POST by the mega talented, Jessie Rone. So fun and sooo easy! Before you ask, don't you love my wonky stitching?! Yep, totally on purpose... again! The straight stitching on the bottom layer is faux {let's be real, folks...} I decided to use the newly released Margaret December because she kind of looks how I'm going to feel after all the Christmas shopping I need to do, ha! She's colored with copics and has accents of silver gel pen. I popped her up on a nestie and added some bling. The sentiment is included with her set. Did I mention we have a TOTALLY awesome sale going on that involves FREE STAMPS?!?!? Read all about it HERE...

On the inside left is more dp and a pocket to hold your receipts. On the right is a notepad for all those naughty and nice lists. :)

Thanks for taking a peek and be sure to check out what the rest of the crew has for you! {links are on the right--->}

TS Monday - Anything goes!

Hi and Happy Monday (let's pretend, ok?!)! This week's challenge on the Totally Stampalicious Blog is Anything Goes! I decided to ink up Deacon Elf. He could NOT be cuter!!!! I originally meant to use some newer dp but I had a pack of some Basic Grey oldies but goodies sitting around and I realized they matched him better. Probably better than this photo shows. ;) He's up on pop dots and was colored with copics. I used a gold spica pen to color in parts of the gifts. Lots of layering and a little bling in the border dienamic finish it up.

Yay for another Christmas card done! Thanks for stopping by and do NOT forget to take a peek at what the rest of the dt has for you - some yummy eye candy, fo' sho'!!!! Just click HERE...

Have a great week!

Trio of Christmas cards

Hi all! I wanted to share this little set of 4x4 Christmas cards I made using new stamps from the latest Totally Stampalicious! release. Can you say ADORABLE?! I used the same layout for all of them, used different border dienamics and highlighted the with some bling. All images were colored with copics. I also added some pearl Smooch to the white parts of all the hats for extra shimmer.

And close ups of each:

TS Monday - Happy Halloween and a SPECIAL!

Hi all! Our challenge this week is Halloween! So before you head out with the kiddos to get some candy, ink up those Halloween stamps one more time. You can make a card for your Halloween party hostess or get ahead for next year! Halloween cards can be so fun especially when you have a fun gal like Witch Brawd from Totally Stampalicious! I just love this sentiment that goes with her! And let me make something very clear... I am not a seamstress. Not even when it comes to cards! Goodness, do you see that wonky stitching?! I meant to do that {that's my story and I'm sticking to it!}!!!

She's colored with copics and is up on pop dots. Her hat and that greenish dp (from Authentique, I believe, or is it Echo Park?) match very well IRL. I anchored the green and orange with a bit of black and kraft. The sentiment is up on pop dots, as well, and I added two big brads to one side.
And speaking of treats...

Let Us 'Treat' You Right!
We have a brand new promotion designed to reward you for your AWESOME taste in stamps!

Bright birthday boy

Hello, for the third day in a row! It's funny how much stamping time you can get in when you're stuck at home because you discovered a leak in your garage! Yes, we finally got some MUCH needed rain in these parts and low and behold, we had a leak coming from the ceiling, down the inside of the wall and making a puddle in one corner of the garage. FUN. Not. But thank GOD for warranties - it's all getting fixed!
Anyway, I decided to make a bright birthday boy card using the Sweet Birthday Kids set from Totally Stampalicious! I colored him up over a week ago and found this week's sketch challenge on SCS perfect for him! I don't have enough kid birthday cards on hand, so now at least I have this one in my stash!

I love the fun rounded edges! I added some piercing, metal bling and popped this cutie up on pop dots for the finishing touches.
As always, thanks for stopping by!

TS Monday - Thanksgiving!

Hi! Happy Monday! Time for another Totally Stampalicious! Monday challenge. Now, it's not quite time for Thanksgiving, at least not in the U.S. but Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends in Canada! So this week's challenge is to make a thank you card. I used Desiree Lollipop ~ CUTE!!!~ and one of the sentiments from the same set. "You're so sweet" is another way to say "thank you", I think, so I went with it! The sketch is from this week's SC on SCS. She's colored with copics. I added some bling and popped some layers up on pop dots. The sentiment was cut out with a dienamic.

Lately, I've been using the leftover dp from the card front on the inside so it cuts down on my scrap pile. Can I get an Amen for less scraps?! :)

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the dt has cooked up for you!

TS Monday - embossing

Hi! This weeks' Totally Stampalicious! challenge is to add some embossing, wet or dry, to your creation. I took the easy way and went with dry embossing on the tilted dp layer. After I embossed it, I sanded the embossed areas so it would stand out a little more. This is the sketch from last week's SC on Splitcoast. Sweet little Storybook Elizabeth worked perfectly with this sketch! The sentiment is from the Sweet Birthday Kids Bugaboo set from TS. And yes, I did that dotted background around Elizabeth again - it's so easy and such a fun look!

I apologize for the late post - drove over an hour to hit up a not so local scrapbook store and got some yummy new dp! Yay!!! Be on the look out... :)

Halloween Fairy Ava

Hi and welcome to another TS Monday challenge! This time, we're winging it! Yep, we're looking for anything with wings. I decided to use Fairy Ava but went for a Halloween theme. Her dress and socks are paper pieced, used copics for the rest of her. This is my first attempt at a dotted background, reminds me of pointilism (sp?) in art class during my senior year of high school. I did it around her and in the corners of the nestie. Then I sponged around it and the sentiment with cocoa ink. There are black stickles on her antennae and diamond stickles on her wings.

I added a flourish around the sentiment using an MFT dienamic. The black strip, which you can't see much of, is a negative piece leftover from a different dienamic. Gotta love using scraps!
Thanks for taking a peek! Stop by and visit the rest of the TS gals to see what cuteness they've created!

TS sneak peek - day 2

Hi again! Let me introduce you to Storybook Elizabeth by artist Sylvia Zet! What a doll! I colored her with copics and sponged around her with pretty in pink. She's also up on pop dots. The sentiment is one of three from the set. I also sponged around it and popped it up on pop dots. The sketch is from this week's Mojo Monday. I don't usually color "blonde hair" on my images, so I thought I'd give it a try. Whatcha think? Added a pink bow that I made using my bow easy and some brads to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the DT made -->links are on the right side bar.

Off to my high schooler's open house! Ack!

TS Monday - challenge and a SNEAK PEEK!

Happy Monday! Yes, it's a HAPPY Monday because we have a new challenge AND a sneak peek! That's right! Totally Stampalicious is releasing 5 NEW STAMP SETS this Thursday at our Blog Hop! First though, this week's challenge is to make a birthday card for a child. Easy, right?! Well, when you're using a cutie pie stamp like this one, yes, it is easy! Here's a peek at Fairy Ava. She's one of the new Bugaboo stamps that will be released this Thursday. A-DOR-able! I colored her with copics then cut her out. I used the newest sketch from CPS. The two little clouds are part of this sweet little stamp, so when it came to cutting out the sentiment, I thought I'd use another cloud. It's an MFT dienamic. I added the black outline so that it matched the little clouds, then popped it up on a pop dot. Lots of sponging on the MME Blush dp and some faux stitching top it all off.

Are YOU stampalicious???

Because I AM TOTALLY STAMPALICIOUS!! That's right! I am now a part of the Totally Stampalicious design team! WAHOO!!! Our challenge for today is Anything Goes! Can't get any easier than that?!! I decided to color in one of the Cute Turtles - how adorable! The sentiment is also from this set. The sketch is this month's SFYTT. Had to bust out the trusty ol' corner rounder. I kept it fairly clean and simple but dressed it up with some piercing, a button and twine.

Now, go check out all of the dt blogs (link is above and on the side bar) and get inky!
