This beautiful Gretsch Guitar features twin DynaSonic single-coil pickups, Bigsby B3G vibrato tailpiece, gold-plated Gretsch Synchro-Sonic bridge, and vintage hump-block fretboard markers. Certainly alien text to me but it sure spells a splendid piece of musical equipment as the reviews show. The guitar is finished in mahogany stain with Cadillac Green top.

Unfortunately, this item doesn't ship to Malaysia but if you are in the United States or elsewhere looking for great workmanship and a great sound to match, do check it out here --> http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gretsch-Guitars/G6128TCG-Duo-Jet-Cadillac-Green-1273888004477.gc

ART Tube MP Studio Mic Preamp

If you are in the market for a tube preamp, for starters you may want to check out the Art Tube MP Studio Mic Preamp .

Like everything else in the market, there are good reviews and not-so-good reviews. From what I've read about this tube preamp, I can't help but believe that the pros outweigh the cons where this Tube MP Studio Mic Preamp is concerned.

Here's one example:

The beauty of this preamp is it's simplicity. It does ONLY what it claims. It takes what goes in and brings it up to a higher level for the following device to do its job easier. It can push an amp into distortion or increase its dynamic range. It will not safe the world, but it will amplify it without coloring it. if your signal is dirty, noisy, i.e. not pristine, it will not correct it. It will how ever make you aware that you need to clean up whatever you are using to cause the issue. It WILL make a bad signal sound worse and a good signal sound louder.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

There you have it. Happy shopping!

Fender Mustang

These days, the term "Fender Mustang" no longer just refers to those solid body electric guitars first introduced in 1964 and recently reissued.

Fender Mustang is also the term given to a newer line of guitar amplifiers, loaded with modern features like built-in amp and effects modeling, USB connectivity, and Fender's FUSE software for editing, storing and swapping your effects and presets through your computer.

In the 1990s, the Mustang attained cult status largely as a result of its use by a number of alternative rock bands.
Kurt Cobain of Nirvana fame was one among others who used a Fender. The 2012 Fender Mustang (Kurt Cobain Artist Edition) comes in Fiesta Red, Sonic Blue and Dark Lake Placid Blue with competition stripes.

Both the guitars and the electronic equipment and gadgets are produced by Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.

Tubas and Brass Instruments

I learned something new the other day about tubas. The image here is of a tuba. I guess you already knew that especially if you are into jazz music. The reason I say that is because tubas are consistently used in jazz music.

There are different tubas available in the market for various types of performances for example, concert tubas are designed with the tubing wrapped so that the player can hold the tuba in his lap.

Helicon tubas wrap around the body and are used for marching along with sousaphones, which are incidentally named after John Philip Sousa.

On recording tubas, the bell points forward instead of upwards. These models were popularized in the early days of recorded music as they could more easily direct their sound to the recording instrument. The length of the tuba determines the fundamental pitch.

Now you know too..
