Work in Progress

I made a paisley....now it is going to be part of a corporate entity.

Don't think this counts as a craft tip, but I am learning that the photogenic quality of the model (thank you, Faith) does not compensate for the operator's deliberately limiting her knowledge about equipment. As in, read the manual for the camera. As with most creatives, this falls for me into the area of following the recipe and is met with much resistance and agonizing.

But photos are not clay, or felt...

Prophecy

My sister is here and we are off to Pt. Reyes for a couple of days, looking for seashells and sea weed...See you later this week.

Some of us prefer to vent.

New t-shirt on redbubble......several sources for the idea (Thanks, C, for the email). Seems to be another in my series of animals with unusual things coming out their mouths.

TFE suggests an alternate lion in his comment, you can see Parsley on youtube.

The Unexpected (Where Paisley comes from)

At the Farmer's Market, I was surprised by these greens - apparently they come in more colors than one would think.

More unexpected sightings:

On Via Negativa, a close reading of nature reveals something hiding in plain sight.

On Cobalt Violet, an over-exposed photograph is transformed into a visual meditation on light as wave and particle.

On Three Little Cameras, some odd visitors to Zagreb.

On Aleph and Elsewhere, deserted connections to the earth.

On New First Unexpected, the perils of cynicism.

On My Delineated Life, philosophy from the krazy/wise cat.

Woohoo! This just in: Timothy Winkler's "Arcade" was selected as one of the winners in the New Yorker's Eustace Tilley cover contest. I don't think he was expecting that!

Let me know in comments if you have posted about anything surprising in your environment recently and I will add it to the links.

Paisley Lion

I was watching Pandaemonium, about Coleridge and Wordsworth, which has a wonderful visual dramatization of "Frost at Midnight", I started with frost, then proceeded to the fractals of this ancestral paisley shawl which turned into the paisley lion below. It's a t-shirt, but redbubble doesn't have this exact shade of green
Would be nice to have all terrors turn into flowers and feathers...
