News from sewing
We've had everything from minus 10 to plus 10 degrees with sunshine recently... so much so that I even went on a little bike ride here... on the street... and on the sewing machine. I'm delighted with this little doily.
I also used selvedges and sewed a bag entirely out of selvedges. It's a lot of fun choosing the right combination.
Unfortunately we don't have skiing weather, but the sun often shines, so there are many tours outside... ... including cleaning vegetables from the farmer, savoy cabbage and chard.
The whole family went on a trip to Liberec to see the exhibition by Neo Rauch and Rosa Loy. It was so wonderful that I went back again a week later with my girlfriend.
Since I don't know if I'm allowed to show pictures of the exhibition here, there is only this cake from the cafe of the Museum of Fine Arts in Liberec.
We all enjoyed it... very. You can find pictures online.
With these hiking pictures I greet you all near and far.
See you soon Viola
Me gusta esos trabajos artesanos, que has hecho con esmero.
AntwortenLöschenUn abrazo.
You've had nice variety in your weather. We been in a deep freeze.
AntwortenLöschenAs always, Viola, you have been busy, both physically and creatively, enjoying life to the fullest. I will show the bag made from selvedges to Miriam. She will appreciate it and understand how it was all put together. Keep on having fun! Hugs - David
AntwortenLöschenI like how you are making the most of every moment no matter what the weather! I also like how you use your creativity to make that bag so the pieces of material do not go to waste!
AntwortenLöschenYou sure are filling the cold winter months with lots of activity. I like the bag you made.
AntwortenLöschenI like the bag you made from salvages, so cute. I can tell you enjoy the winter weather. That cake looks so rich and delicious, I would have to had a cup of coffee with my slice.
AntwortenLöschenThe snow looks very inviting - while we melt in summer temperatures. The cake looks delicious. Very clever with the selvedges....I really must do something with my collection.
AntwortenLöschenLovely post! Have a nice new week!
Some lovely pictures online of the exhibition Viola and that cake looks delicious! Two lovely makes - the bicycle mat is lovely and the selvedge bag very smart. xx
AntwortenLöschenThat cake....yum!! You have been busy doing fun things. Of, I really like the bag!
AntwortenLöschenHi I really enjoyed your post-great stitching projects, good food pretty winter photos too-here is a link to my first bag finish https://hummingbirdwoodlandstudio.blogspot.com/2025/01/new-furnace-woes-and-slow-stitch-bag.html If you would like one let me know-I am making these with my hand dyed fabrics and sharing them
AntwortenLöschenI had to google Neo Rauch and Rosa Loy. Looks like an interesting exhibit!
AntwortenLöschenI LOVE the striped bag you made! You are so talented and do so many interesting things. :)
The doily and bag are delightful, and I'm loving the photos of the snowy landscapes. Temperatures have been up and down like a yo-yo here, but it has been mainly grey with hardly any sunshine.
AntwortenLöschenI too had to google Neo Rauch and Rosa Loy, but the exhibition sounds like my cup of tea! Thank you for sharing! xxx
How clever to put the bicycle in the quilt!!
AntwortenLöschenNot much up and down with the temperature here lately, just DOWN.
Love how you did the purse. Great job! Love the photos, as always.

Så flink du er til å sy! Nydelige arbeider!
Truly beautiful sceneries
AntwortenLöschenYou have been sewing lovely pretties while winter winters away outside, Viola. That cake looks delish. How wonderful to see the exhibition by Neo Rauch and Rosa Loy twice.
AntwortenLöschenI always love your handwork! The photos with the snow and the sunny heaven are beautiful. You have a natural life and you are creating small miracles.
AntwortenLöschenMany greetings from the green-white Bavarian Forest to you!
Love your cute doily and bag! So pretty. Beautiful winter scenery too. That cake looks yummy. I had to google the painters. The exhibition looks interesting, glad you were able to go twice.
AntwortenLöschenYou have about as much snow as we do, but we have had very cold temperatures. I very much like that bicycle piece. I like how you have the bike going up. I hope you have a great new week. hugs-Erika

AntwortenLöschenI love all your beautiful sewing creations. Good to see a little of your stunning countryside . Very cold in your corner. B x
Love your selvedge bag and the doily is beautiful.
AntwortenLöschenHappy Monday!
Great use of scraps. Your bag looks really cute. Now I want a piece of that tasty looking cake.
AntwortenLöschenI love your bag and how you used the scraps. You are so very clever and talented. That street scene sure looks cold! But very pretty. I suspect you are fine showing photos, so long as they allow you to take them. Blogger doesn't care, it would only be a matter of the museum caring and since they allow photos, my guess is they would actually appreciate the share -- good promotion for their exhibits! Thanks for coming by this weekend!
AntwortenLöscheneine schöne Tasche hast du genäht
AntwortenLöschenReste verwertet ;)
lecker gekocht auch
und eine tolle Ausstellung besucht
aber besonders gefallen mir die Winterbilder
liebe Grüße
Rosi
You are an artist of sewing, photography and cooking.
Fun photos! You have more snow than we have in Minnesota, at this time. We've been short on snow this winter. I love your hand bag!!! So cute! And the coasters are fun, too! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Fijne week!
Lieve groet van Willy
The photos of the snow is so pretty! How sweet the little bike doily is! Your purse is delightful! I love all of the strips of fabric you chose.
AntwortenLöschenlovely photos....always! Your doily and purse are both so wonderful. You are so creative!
AntwortenLöschenSuch great photos! I love how the bike is going up the hill in your sewing project! So clever! It has been pretty cold where I am too. Lots of snow! I have been wanting to have a privacy fence put in our backyard but I will probably have to wait for it all to melt a little. The snow where you are looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing!!!
AntwortenLöschenI do like the bicycle on your sewing :)
AntwortenLöschenThose vegetables look good, and lovely photographs of the snow.
Enjoy these last days of January ... it's gone by so quickly.
All the best Jan

Besos.
AntwortenLöschenBeautiful photos, Viola. I love the snowy fields. And how clever to use the selvedges for that bag. It will be useful, I'm sure. Enjoy these last January days.
Amicalement
Hélène
It sounds like you’ve been keeping busy with such lovely activities! A bike ride, sewing, and even making a bag from selvedges—what a creative way to reuse fabric! It must have been quite fun choosing the right combinations for the bag. I’m also glad to hear you’ve had some sunny days for outdoor tours, even if skiing weather is still elusive. Visiting the Neo Rauch and Rosa Loy exhibition must have been inspiring, especially getting to go back for a second visit! It’s so nice to see you making the most of everything, from crafting to exploring.
