Inner Realm

 she discovered

with her mind silent

body still

heart open

her inner universe

opens to her

~

I used Arches 140 HP paper

It was nice to paint on,

but the paper buckled. I will need to flatten it, which is fine.

I do prefer paper that does not buckle.

InkTober

Before the realm of earth, her kin lives as orbs on another realm.
She visits with them daily.
~

For years I have been joining Inktober

it is a wonderful inspiration for me to do daily art

here I am joining in again.

Round and round and round she goes.
Meditation for her prose.
Walking on the colorful stones.
The labyrinth brings her to her inner star.

~

Slowly I hope to catch up with posting them all here.

Thank you for your visit.

Lovely autumn to you!

Honey Bee

last night I took an art night class
there were maybe 15 of us
sip and paint

It was lovely having the guidance of Jenna
each painting looked different
even though she guided us to paint a bee
add honeycomb
then flowers
each painting, all unique

i love that
each personality shines through

Watercolor Chart

I used 3 tubes of paint
one yellow
one red
one blue
all Daniel Smith

I taped down cheap washi tape from the dollar store
(use good tape! It kept peeling off)
the squares are about 3/4" with thin tape between

I labeled my colors along the top
and
one side
next began mixing colors

then the color mixing began
painting in the squares

Above is the finished piece before I peeled the tape off.

It might have taken a couple of hours.

I find the amount of colors
144 amazingly beautiful
and
thrilling to consider they came from three
primary colors!

Now I have a chart to choose colors from
as well
an idea as to how to make them again>

Thank you The Watercolour Academy for showing me how to go
about this!

(Emma offers these lessons free!)

New Paper

recently Lynne Hoppe shared a watercolor paper
made in Italy
100% cotton
that is new to me

I like it
soft and feels very cottony
took the paint wonderfully

(but roughs up if one needs to erase pencil lines,
so I will attempt to not need to erase ;-))

(I am not sure what I think of this little landscape)

She paints Her world beautiful ~

she paints her world beautiful

her paintbrush much like a witch's broom
and
a fairie's wand

breathes magic into the stones
mushrooms and home of her life
as she births them
with
color

~

A while ago I bought a mini palette from Stephanie Law
I found it hard choosing the 37 colors

finally I took all my colors
made swatches
which I could lay out and ponder which one's I use/like most
(a project I wanted to do for choosing colors for paintings)

I have since placed these color squares in plastic coin sleeves
blues on one page, browns the next and so on
so nice and orderly ;-)

amazing how even doing these squares satisfied my art craving

the palette is shy of 3" across
tiny
tiny
tiny
I used it on this painting
and
I was delighted that it worked quite well

it will be wonderful for hikes and traveling

Foraging

a peaceful quiet life
~

most years I do a little bear painting

often of a bear
wandering the land
eating flowers
(because they do eat flowers, so do I)

I think also there is something about:
life in balance in these scenes
because nature seems to know "life in balance" naturally

~
wishing you a day that feels 'in balance'

Resting Within

sometimes
painting a Buddha resting in peaceful silence
inspires deep peace in me
~

morning visitor:

I was away for a while and could not post on blogger (no matter how I tried to from my iPad).
I also no longer receive my comments from you in an email, which I had set up to do all these many years.
Are you also having these complications with blogger?

DC: Pink Horse

they stand in their dignity
that is the only stance they know

in their stance they are given strength
and
power
to be who they are

perhaps it is that simple
at times:

stand tall
breathe true
feel who you are
be

29 Faces

listening
to the light
~

I have been enjoying adding to this chart
i start with one color as rich and pure as i can get it
make the first square
then dipping my brush in a tiny bit of water and if need be,
more color
then
make the second square and so on
diluting each square

i was surprised
to find that many of the colors when quite diluted
become a color that can be used for skin

these are all Daniel Smith Watercolors
I love their paints

this little face
does not excite me
but it is fun to see that i used mostly the same color on her
Quinacridone Sienna

i love how diverse one color can be!

SOC: purple purple and yellow

not sure where this drawing came from
had a slightly different piece in mind
fun how art has a life of it's own
inspiring you each step of the way

purple purple and yellow are this weeks Summer of Color prompts

here is one of our local summer bunnies:
in winter they turn white
