A New Table

Like I really needed a new table but I couldn't pass this one up. I found it yesterday along with an hanging office wall organizer. It took me 45 minutes to get that on the wall only to discover it is crooked. A handy man I am not.

I also found this cute little clown to resell. I thought it was one that someone in Plush Memories was looking for but sadly I was wrong. Its in my Ebay store here

Sold This... Bought That

I bought this vintage record stand about a year ago with every intention of fixing and restaining it. I never got around to it and truth be told, I probably wouldn't. I listed it on a FB garage sale group and within minutes, a few people were interested. The second person picked it up tonight.

sold for $7

I've been looking for something other than a bookshelf to hold Ryker's paperback books. I found the perfect table at the thrift store. I'm not too crazy about the green color, but I love the storage underneath it.

bought for $6.99

I also picked up this bench. It was a spur of the moment buy. I certainly didn't need another one but I couldn't pass it up. I have it for sale for local pick up on my Facebook page here. Please join as I will ship other items provided you pay for postage. I'm only 4 away from 100 members.

Sold This... Bought That

I sold this coffee table last night on craigslist. I don't think the buyer was too familiar with my city because I live on a one way street and when he left, he went the wrong way.

I went to the thrift store that was closing and didn't find anything I wanted. They had a couple of first edition Little Golden books but they were in too bad of shape. We then stopped at St Vinnies and I got this (plus I have some money left over)

The books, garbage can and shoes, I'm keeping. I have big feet and hardly ever find any shoes in my size. I know, I should buy new (my kids get new shoes)

Books for Ryker

and coffee mugs. I swore off buying them but I have a hard time leaving them behind. Except for the owl mug, these were brand new.

I love the Mona Lisa with a beard and mustache

I will be posting the mugs in my ebay store later today. Check out my other mugs here

Thrifted Table

Again, I found nothing at the thrift store worth reselling. I'm getting quite discouraged. I did, however, find another table that works better with my kitchen chairs and space.

The thrift store had been using that table for displaying stuff and today when I saw it moved to the front of the store, I asked if it was for sale. There was no price tag and the manager said it was $6.99. It looks really heavy and since I was walking, I asked if it was light enough to carry. She said yes it is surprisingly light. I bought it and was amazed at how light it was and carried it home.

For now, I put the art table in Robbies room for him to use as a desk.

Table Art and Other Finds

When I saw this table at the thrift store, I thought that looks like the style of painting by Peit Mondrian. I needed a new kitchen table and this one was small enough to fit in my cramped space. When I went to pay for it, the cashier said "You should be able to repaint that." What? and destroy a master piece. Granted, Piet himself didn't paint this table but if you look underneath, you will see this label.

I want to get some vintage wooden folding chairs because my current ones look ridiculous. But then again, what exactly would match this unique piece of art?

A few weeks ago, Van from Thrift Core blogged about making shelves from old board games. You can read her post here. I picked up a couple of games to do this with. (sorry and scrabble)

The Scrabble for Juniors had 2 boards.

The Great Big Book of Bedtime Stories is in bad shape but I couldn't resist getting it. Check out these sweet graphics.

If anyone local (northern WI) is selling wooden folding chairs, please send me an email krzi1@yahoo.com

Thrifty Tuesday Find

Yesterday, my hubby took me over to Goodwill. This hardly ever happens without me asking to go. Plus we had two of our children with us. I'm glad we went because I finally found the kitchen chairs I have been searching for.

Now of course convincing my hubby to purchase another set of chairs is a different story. They were only $3.99 a piece. I told him I could easily sell the other kitchen chairs plus the extra table we had on Facebook. He agreed to get them but he wans't helping me take them to the check out. (yeah he can be a brat) I managed to get two into the cart and dragged the other two behind me. I was so happy with myself, I became thrift store blind and did not see how filthy they were. I actually thought they were a beige color until after I cleaned them and they turned white!

Before cleaning:

All nice and clean at my table:

A Clown Car and A Vintage Coffee Table

I saw this awesome coffee table on Friday but I did not have enough money to purchase it. I sold some items on FB this pass weekend and I called my sister up asking if she thought a coffee table would fit in her trunk if she pulled the seats down. A few years ago I had bought a coffee table and it fit in the trunk of my Saturn so I was thinking this one would fit in hers. She thought that it might.

So today we went to go get it. It was still there and I asked her again if she thought it would fit. She wasn't sure but since this one guy was eying it up, I quickly grabbed it figuring we could make it work.

Apparently, my sister owns a clown car. The table would not fit in the trunk. She tried putting it in the back seat. No luck. I told her lets try to put it on an angle. We managed to squeeze it in.

Business Sale/Estate Sale

There is a local flower shop/green house that went out of business a few months ago. They auctioned off most of their stuff and are taking offers on whatever didn't sell. My sister and I decided to check it out. There was also an abandoned house with stuff inside. When we got there, the doors were open but we didn't see anyone. Basically everything inside looked like trash. I felt like we were trespassing or we were in some horror movie and about to get murdered. After about 5 minutes, a lady walked in and began telling us to look around and make offers because everything was about to be bulldozed. There were a few Christmas decorations, a lot of plastic planters, some ribbon stuff and floral decorations. Nothing I was interested in. She told us to go ahead and look in the basement. I wish I had my camera to show you the mess down there. I swear it looked like a landfill. I found a styrofoam Santa and reindeer set but decided to pass. I didn't really need it.

Next, we explored the house. It looked like it hadn't been lived in for years. There was no electricity so some rooms were slightly dark. Probably a good thing because who knows how many creepy crawlers were inside.  I found a box of knick knacks but only bought one thing: a family of skunks

Aren't they cute? The had fur on their tails and head but it was dirty and coming off so I removed it. Since it was so dark in the house, I did not notice momma skunk and one baby skunk had been broken and glued back together. I was hoping to sell them on Ebay but now I won't. I'm only out a buck. My sister found a vintage type writer.

Later in the day, I bought some more Lia Sophia. I swear, I'm going to go broke if I don't start selling this stuff.

I also picked up this end table for $10 off of Facebook.

Facebook Train Table and Other Finds

My Facebook group had some good stuff listed this weekend. Usually it's all taken before I have a chance to comment but I was on my computer when they listed it. The first item I wanted to purchase with the My Little Pony lot but the seller had another person interested before me. That sale fell through and I scored an Interactive Belle Doll.

She is pretty cool but her hair is messed up. You put the accessories into a port in her hand and they will talk to each other. Each dress will tell a different story. You have to plug the dress into her bottom to make her work. Then you either squeeze her left hand to make her talk or plug the items into her right hand.

The next item I found was a Kelly Doll House with a playground set. Apparently the playground set is hard to find and one seller has theirs priced at $350. It is new in the box but I think the seller is dreaming if he thinks anyone will pay that amount. Mine is a little on the high side but I also have best offer and free shipping.

and finally the deal of the week: a Thomas Train Table. It is suppose to go under a bed. I saw it a few days earlier and the seller had it priced at $100 or best offer. I was surprised he accepted my offer of $40. These tables retail for over $200. Plus the seller said he would be willing to drop it off for free.

Since it is an under the bed table, I assumed it would be smaller than a normal table. Nope. It's about the same size except it does not sit as high. I now see why he was so willing to drop it off. He probably thought if I came to his house, I would change my mind. (note to self: ask for dimensions when buying stuff off facebook)

Ryker's New Ride

I sold this skirt on Ebay ($10)

and this bench ($5)

and side table on Facebook. ($5)

and bought this stroller from a friend for $20

It has plenty of storage

and even has a sound system where you can plug your ipod into.

Check out the speakers and the cup holder.

Very good deal for $20. I feel like I robbed my friend though.
