A RIDE TO ROCHEPORT

Yesterday was a misty day and
it seemed like it might rain.....
a good day even so to go for a ride:

The tiny town of Rocheport
is about 12 miles away with
a population of under 300.
There are quite a few Bed
and Breakfasts there.

This picture is terrible as you can
even see my camera flash from our
car but I loved the exterior:

I always enjoy a stop at this
little antique shop called
"Behind the Times":

A NEW VENTURE AT MIDWAY ANTIQUE MALL AND FLEA MARKET

After a year and a half of settling in
after moving from Colorado to
Missouri, the inevitable has happened and
we have rented an 8 x 11 stall
at Midway Antique Mall and Flea Market.
It has over 400 dealers and is right  beside
I-70 on the west side of Columbia.

Since I love to sew and craft,  I will
be making things for my booth to sell
there and of course my passion for
vintage English teatime wares will be
in abundance!  Of course I know
 this might not be everyone's
"cup of tea" and that won't hurt
 my feelings -
I will just shut it down!

This place is on a long road that winds up a hill with potholes everywhere and you wonder who the world would go here. You arrive at the top to find the parking lot with lots of cars and when you go inside people are paying for things - always a good sign!
I just thought I'd give you a sneak peak here!

Just because I love something is no guarantee that someone
else will - I sure know that!  This
was a little dresser I decoupaged:

The top of the dresser above - hopefully
someone will love it for their nursery!

LOVE MY "WHERE I CREATE ROOM" and OTHER TRIVIA

I have been sewing tea cozies
lately which I will be selling
on my Etsy Page and also
in a booth with other things
at a local antique/flea market.

I know I already shared
my "Where I Create Room"
and realize it isn't about pretty
because it is a workroom.

About 8 weeks ago,  I started baking
 cookies for "Granny's House" which
is a Christian Ministry for
lower income children here
in Columbia.  This is what my
kitchen table looks like on
Friday's - 72 cookies:

Of course I needed to bake a pie too!

This photo is not from yesterday's
 pie but I
did make this yesterday.

If you would like the recipe:  Here
Do you love to bake too?

A FALL QUILT AND TABLE SETTING

Hello dear blogging friends!

Yesterday I was at an auction and got
this lovely quilt which I later washed
and hung on the pony wall by the stairs.
I thought it was nice for fall.

I then went down to the tea room and
set up a little fall table to share.

Because.....as I was opening bag
#2 of 255 pieces of Halloween candy,
 I suddenly remembered I had
a post to do for today.

There were so many kids out
for Trick or Treat and they
were all well behaved and
said "thank you"!

My husband and I have been so busy -
we thought we might get bored in
retirement but .....no such thing!

Thank you for coming back after my
computer hard drive crisis!

FALL MUMS AND CHANGE

Dear Blogging Friends:
thank you for bearing with
me as I return to blog land after
a hard drive crash.....but not in a car!

So I give you this bouquet!  I think I need a
bouquet myself considering all the "new stuff"
I have to learn!  Yesterday I went out in the
garden and grabbed what I could find for my vase.

I have to confess here that I hate learning
new things - well at least in the computer
"tech" field.  This disease of not wanting to
learn new things gets much worse as
one ages..... not that I am ancient.
You see,
I was spoiled using Picasa for collages and
watermarking my pictures.  Not anymore.  I see
Picasa is no more so now I have to use a
new format which I have to learn.

Back to my garden blooms - this is
the weird assortment of what I found
 still surviving our cool nights.

The mums I rooted on the side
 of our house
got huge this fall!

As you can see the leaves are just starting to turn
but with so little rain this summer I think there
won't be a lot of color.

I hope you can join me next week for tea
related "Friends Sharing Tea" blog party on Wednesday.
