First a bit of old news. Here are my clover blocks pieced and ready to back and bind. I'm going to use a scrappy green binding. I was thinking about doing a scrappy green border, but when I had it on the design wall, it seemed to detract from the clover too much. I really love this quilt. I'd never set anything on point before so it was a bit of a challenge for me. I have a few clover left over that I plan to turn into a spring wallhanging. Thank you everyone who helped make this beautiful quilt top.
And for a bit of new....here are some curved rail blocks for this month. I love batiks and have three more put aside that hopefully I will have time to sew...but for now...here are 6 blocks for me.
And also....my violets are packed and ready to go to the post office in the morning to start their trip way down south.
That's it for now....

Block Lotto Inspirations
Just thought I'd share a few photos ...
First, a quilt top made from my modern clover winnings. I love how it turned out, and it is on the top of my pile to quilt and finish! Thanks so much to everyone who sent me blocks!
These next two are charity quilts. I had these great panels, but I wanted to make the quilts a bit bigger. The block lotto checkerboard blocks were perfect to add some interest to the top and bottom. Thanks, Sophie, for all the interesting blocks you choose!
Thanks for the inspiration,
Wendy F

Here's the top, mostly done. A colorful batik strip border followed by another black one are in planning, but I thought you might like to see it this far along.

April 2011 Recap
In April, 50 quilters made 372 Modern Clover blocks–enough for eight winners: Coralie, Janet, Kate, Laura Maree, Susan, Wilma and Wendy. Four newbies joined us this month: Heather, Marie, Tina and Toni.
Congratulations again to the winners and welcome to the first timers. Even though there was no "newbie luck' in the drawing today, I hope you will stick around and play some more.
Here's the list of the blocks we made:

April Clover Winner
I, too, would like to congratulate all the April winners. I am delighted but more than a little surprised that I was a winner this month since I'm a newer member and this is my second win. I usually don't win anything, so I'm amazed by this lucky streak. I thank you all in advance for the lovely blocks I'm sure to receive.
Happy Quilting!

April Winners
I would like to congratulate all of our winners for April. I have been fortunate enough to win the blocks several times since I have joined, and that is unusual for me. I consider all of you my lucky quilt angels, and I do hope that the good fortune you all generate extends to your lives and your families lives. Bless you all, and thank you.
Good luck to all who take part in the May block lotto.
Thank you Sophie for your continued work to keep block lotto running smoothly.

Fingers crossed?
I've just sent the list of names for the drawing today to Mary Jane. If you are in it to win it today, it's time to cross your fingers and toes ;-)
There were a lot of donated chances which I spread among the 4 newbies and 19 quilters who have not yet won a set of lotto blocks.
Rho's last minute pair of blocks, pushed us over the number needed for EIGHT WINNERS. Thanks, Rho!

6 Clover Blocks
In just under the wire. For some reason (life probably) I thought these were never going to get done. They aren't difficult. I think I was just distracted or something. I ended up with twice as many "petals" as I needed and half as many leaves (and no more of the cream fabric) and when I thought I was done this afternoon two of them had leaves upside down. Argh! Anyway, here are my six. Good luck to everyone in this months drawing.

Three Modern Clover by June
![]() |
If I were lucky enough to win the blocks I would use the on point setting idea from Lyn Brown. |
Once I found my 3.5 square ruler and my 6.5 inch rectangle ruler, these blocks were easy to get together.
Thanks again for the clear directions, Sophie!
