Perfectly Clear Fall Colors Layout

Hello again friends what a beautiful fall we are having in Nashville, Tennessee this year (minus the drought), which made the Creating Made Easy November Kit all the more fun (as it is usually!) this time.
I have a fun layout today that is completely clear Fall Colors Acrylic Layout using the November Kit.
If you would like to create this layout, I have step by step instructions.
  • Using patterned paper from the November Kit (Creating Made Easy) punch out several 1" leaves using any fall leaf punch (I used one from my stash or a cutting machine would work as well).
  • Peel off the protective film from the Clear Scraps 12X12 acrylic sheet (only the front for now).
  • Trim out 12X7" piece of patterned paper as shown in photo.
  • Adhere 12X7" paper to front of acrylic using Beacon adhesives.
  • Trim out 4X6 matte using patterned paper from the kit.
  • Adhere matting to paper as shown, add photo (trimmed to size).
  • Take paper punched leaves, adhere them down right had side.
  • Take buttons(from stash or previous kits) and place them as shown amidst paper punched leaves.
  • Add FALL COLORS sticker from the November Kit sticker sheet.
  • Take gold 3/4" ribbon (from stash) and adhere under photo matting.
  • Take "But I think I love Fall Most Of All" sticker and stick to a leftover scrap of patterned paper.
  • Trim around stick leaving a 1/4"  edge.
  • Using pop dots, add sticker on right hand side of photo as shown.
  • Adhere a couple buttons to the left hand side of the ribbon.
  • Using StazOn ink (from stash) or paint would work as well, and edge entire layout.
  • Remove protective film from the back of the layout.

Such a fun and easy layout when you break it down piece by piece, and I love acrylic layouts in my books, they are so unique and creative.
You could replace any of the stickers or sentiments wither choice from this packed kit!

Halloween SHAKERS!!

Happy Monday friends, today I have my first couple of projects from the fabulous Creating Made Easy October 2016 Kit!

I decided to make these two Clear Scraps Shakers and share just how I created them!
For the Bat Shaker I used Gesso from my stash, spreading it onto the chipboard base and basically using it as adhesive to adhere the next layer.

After thatI spread Gesso on the top layer piece, and set aside both pieces to dry.

Then I took heavy duty foil and punches out stars and moons (it sharpens your punches as well) to create the "floating" pieces in the Shaker.

Right before the base Gesso dried I put two foil moons as the "eyes" and pressed them in lightly.
I waited for everything to dry added the foil stars and adhered the acrylic and top layer on, after gluing some ribbon in between the layers for a hanger. Before I added the acrylic I hand painted some spider webs onto the front using paint and a very small brush.

Now for the Ghost Shaker I used Modeling paste from my stash with glitter (while wet) for the top layer.

I adhered patterned paper from the kit to the base of the Ghost Shaker.

After everything dried, I adhered a ribbon in between the layers, added the sequins from the kit, then adhered the other layers.

Such a fun idea, these Clear Scraps Shakers!
Happy Crafty Monday my friends,

Today Life Is Good Custom Album

Hey there friends, Happy Tuesday.
I have been doing so many photoshoots lately I decided to use one to
create a mini album using the Creating Made Easy May 2016 Kit this time!
It was fun to use the pics from the shoot to create an album.
I cannot wait to take my boys out and get pics this weekend.
I am dying over these Webster's pages papers and sticker embellishments.
On this mini a filled in the pages with patterned paper and took scraps to make
contrast edging.
Also on the front of each page I used gold metallic paint around the edges.
There were a couple pages I wanted the matting to be larger so I painted the entire page,
then used a large matting that overlapped the chipboard pages of the
Clear Scraps Tabby Album from the kit.
Even the fun vine ribbon was included in the kit, it is a beautiful scrapbook kit this month
and perfect for not only scrapbooking but mixed media as well.
Grab yours while they are available, only 29.99!

LIVE Desktop Plaque Craft

Hello Monday and help friends!
Have you seen the Creating Made Easy May 2016 Kit? I mean it is drop dead gorgeous! Such a combo of colors and style, I am in love!
Included in the kit is the Clear Scraps LIVE Expression with is so fun, plus some gorgeous Webster's Pages papers and stickers that you'll love as much as I do.
For this desktop sign I made (To remind myself to LIVE and breathe) I painted the back of the LIVE Expression with paint so the front would be nice and glossy. Then I put pearls all over the front using a Pearl Pen.
After I allowed everything to dry, I trimmed out pattered papers that was all included in the kit and made it the perfect desktop size.
Using Beacon Zip Dry adhesive I adhered the Clear Scraps LIVE Expression to the paper dotting it where the pearl dots are to perfectly conceal the adhesive.
I also added some stickers form the May 2016  kit that were fun sentiments. I then took a heavy duty card stock, folded it lengthwise and adhered half to the back so it would stand tall on my craft desk.
I am willing to bet this Creating Made Easy May Kit flies off the shelf, between the Mini Album, and perfectly adorable papers, it's going to go quick so grab yours now!
Here is a link to the details in the kit and it's only 29.99 including USA shipping.
Happy Monday and happy crafting friends!!

Thanks for staying with me through the divorce and my crafting less! I love you all.

Pet Love Photography

Morning friends, I wanted to share this project today
because my son who is now 13 is really showing his eye for
photography and he loves to snap pets. He is 100% an animal lover
and I know he sees things I do not.
He took these pictures at my friends house while we were
visiting one day. I sent them to my email and had them printed.
After looking at the I decided to make a project with them as well.
The first thing I reached for was a Clear Scraps Clipboard.
Not everyone has scrapbooks, so these make incredible gifts for
the person who loves art but doesn't have a scrapbook.
I left it clear because I like the effect and I used the 12" Arrow Heart Mascil from
Clear Scaps on the back with some teal Krylon spray paint to create the hearts
I used some Jillibean Soup papers and stickers I got on clearance for the rest.
Such a fun heartfelt project to create with my son.
He sees that I respect his work and I can share with our friend.
Hope your Wednesday is beautiful friends.
Much love- Pinky

Neon Rainbow Tag? Yes Please!

Hey there again! THREE days in a row, I am getting my crafty groove back! :)

This is my tag for March using the new Clear Scraps Tag Album & Tag Box Set from the 2016 CHA Release!
I was really feeling the rainbow, neon vibe so I decided to experiment and make a very colorful tag for the month.
For this take I used four different alcohol inks which I dropped onto the back of the tag from the Tag Album after removing the protective film. Then I allow it to dry.I tamped it with a dabber to spread it all out.
After it dried completely I used a very light yellow spray paint (Krylon) to paint over and make it more opaque.
You will never guess what I used for the Clear Scraps Butterfly Mixers?! I used nail polish, yes regular old nail polish. They were sitting by my craft table the I thought the colors would go so well, so I removed the protective film from the backs of the butterflies, then I coated each one in nail polish and set it aside to dry while I created the stamped sentiment.
Now I tried to stamp on the tag directly but the color wasn't as bright as I wanted, so I used nail polish remover and removed the stamped image and stamped it on paper. Then distressed it with StazOn green inks.
I used a vivid green ribbon for the top after everything tried up nicely and yes it takes some time, but it was worth it, changing techniques.
I hope you enjoyed my project today, it was a fun experiment!
Have a wonderful Thursday friends...

Cheese Grater Jewelry Holder POPPED!

Hello two days in a row blogging! She is back! :)
I have a project today that really is for any DIYer or crafter who likes to make things as gifts or for themselves. I have seen these Cheese Grater Jewelry holders forever it seems and I really wanted t personalize one for myself. But I wanted it to POP!
So why not add some Clear Scraps goodness to make it an amazing gift.
Of course you can use any cheese grater, new or old, they are quite inexpensive in fact. I took some spray paints and one of my favorite Clear Scraps Mascils/Stencils, the 6" Groovy Hearts Mascil. Really the 6" stencils fit perfectly on the grater itself making an easy decorating area.
Once you paint the entire grater, you set the 6" Groovy Hearts mascil on the grater, and use several paints to make it pop with graduated colors. It's easy to place and if you need it held down you can use a glue dot, but I did not need one to create mine. I wanted a pretty base color so I chose teal.
Because you will be using a metal friendly spray paint, I do suggest a sealer and 24 hours dry time before using or it can be slightly sticky. I believe it is because the paint is a bit thicker with a primer built into the paint before you use it. Also be sure to clean the grater with alcohol a well.
There are so many Clear Scraps Mascil/stencil designs you really an customize it to any style you like, and the Doily Mascil would make it more vintage style!
I am thinking of making these for  gifts during the holidays, really they would make a fun customized gift you could add a name to as well.
I hope you enjoyed my project today, it's definitely a great one for kids or anyone who love DIY!
Have a great and crafty hump day friends!!

ALL the crafts ALL the time!

Happy HUMP DAY friends,
yes I have another craft today, this one is an adorable
MINI Acrylic Clipboard Dry Erase Board!
If you love adult coloring, her are ways to apply the coloring
to your every day crafting! :)
I colored all these butterflies and put them on using solvent base adhesive.
And instead of using patterned paper behind the clipboard? I actually
took spray adhesive, placed a 4X6 card behind the Clear Scraps clipboard.
Added glitter after spraying the adhesive on.
I allowed it to dry fully, then I spray painted the back of the clipboard with
light pink Krylon spray paint!

How fun is that? I loved making it. You can buy the kit here and the
new MINI Clear Scraps Acrylic Clipboards are so tiny and cute and
make fantastic crafts!! I love them.

What are you working on this week?
Have you tried Krylon paints on your projects? Man they are fun.

Have a beautifully crafty day my friends. :)
