Willow knows she's different from other girls, and not just because she loves tinkering with cars. Willow has a gift.
She can look into the future and know people's dreams and hopes, their sorrows and regrets, just by touching them.
She has no idea where this power comes from. But the assassin, Alex, does.

Gorgeous, mysterious Alex knows more about Willow than Willow herself does. He knows that her powers link to dark and dangerous forces, and that he's one of the few humans left who can fight them.

When Alex finds himself falling in love with his sworn enemy, he discovers that nothing is as it seems, least of all good and evil.

A Review for Angel Fever (Angel #3) by L.A Weatherly

Angel Fever (Angel, #3)Posted by Donna

In the devastated remains of the world, millions of people live in "refugee" camps provided by the angels who have all but enslaved humanity.

As this angelic stranglehold tightens, Willow and Alex are recruiting and training new Angel Killers while struggling to hold ground on the celestial battlefield. But Willow continues to have feelings for Seb, and her love and resolve are tested as a shattering revelation sends Alex on a separate journey.

Now that the final battle versus the angels is about to begin-and the fate of the world hangs in the balance-each of them must face the consequences of their own choices.

Will love endure? Will the human race survive?

The Review: "God, Willow. I seriously don't know what I ever did to deserve you." I stretched up onto my tiptoes to kiss his lips. "Whatever is it, I'm glad you did it."

My journey with this series started way back in 2010 and since then, I've been utterly and completely hooked. Now with the arrival of the third and final instalment, I'm left astonished by how truly amazing this series is.

After the mind-blowing events in Angel Fire, Willow, Alex, Seb and the gang are trying to pick up the pieces and work out their next steps. They know they need to continue with the fight against the angel's but, with the world in ruins, it's going to be a even harder journey. Deciding to go into hiding seems like their only choice but, they still need to work hard to achieve the ultimate goal - to destroy all the angels. With the return of someone close to Alex, Alex realises that he needs to go on a journey by himself, which brings some life changing events to Willow. But with the final battle around the corner, Willow needs to take charge and finish thing once and for all - but is she strong enough?

I'm so pleased that Angel Fever was worth the wait - it was amazing, just truly amazing! I was luckily enough to find time to re-read the first two books before I got my hands on the final book, and I'm so glad I did. I never realised how much important information I forget over time, so by the time I started Angel Fever, I knew exactly what was going on. L.A Weatherly delivers an unforgettable finale - one that was so emotional that I was on the verge of tears. I thought my days of nearly crying was over after I read Angel Fire, - which was an emotional sequel, but once again L.A knows how to get her readers going.

As a final story, I thought everything was wrapped up perfectly. There wasn't any unanswered questions or little thoughts I had after - which I find I get a lot after reading a final book, but none in this series. It makes me love it that much more, and that the ending was so perfect. The final battle was just so good too, it was sitting on the edge of your seat good - I was such a huge bundle of nerves.

Willow and Alex have really come a long way. I wasn't sure what was in store for them this time around but again, it was nothing like I expected. I was so invested in their relationship that I felt every emotion that they were feeling, and times, it was completely heart-breaking, but then so beautiful at other times. Willow and Alex are just perfect together - no matter their ups and downs.

In all, Angel Fever is one of the most beautiful and satisfying conclusions I've read in a long time, and this series will forever remain a favourite of mine. It's definitely a keeper, and if you haven't picked it up yet - then what are you waiting for?

UK Appreciation Month - L.A Weatherly; Guest Post + Int Giveaway

So, we're on the final days of our UK Appreciation Month and we have one of Donna's favourite authors...L.A Weatherly, author of Angel and Angelfire.

L.A. WeatherlyI was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas – and when I was twenty-seven, I fell in love with an Englishman and moved here. I didn’t have any trepidation about moving to the UK; I’d visited England for six months when I was eighteen and felt like an old hand at this English-stuff. I was sure that I wouldn’t have any culture shock.
Ha.
Forget the obvious things, like different spellings for words and driving on the wrong side of the road – those are easy. The real challenges come when you go grocery shopping and realize that not only do you not know the metric system, so that you have no idea how much ground beef to buy, there also isn’t any ground beef – at least not by that name. And what the blippety-bleep is a ‘courgette’?
I spent my first few years here in a daze. Slowly, though, I became fluent in English (rather than American – they are not the same!) and started to feel at home. And then I wrote my first children’s novel, Child X. Set in England. With an English main character who’s thirteen, in her first year of secondary school.
OK, back to culture shock.
GCSE. “A” levels. Sixth form college instead of high school. Argh, it’s another different language! With no children of my own from whom to vicariously experience it all, I begged a local school to let me observe their classes and stood in the back manically scribbling notes. (“Are you an inspector, miss?”)
That was more than ten years ago. I got the book done and don’t think I made any obvious howlers – but even now, I still feel a little out of my depth writing about contemporary UK children. So when I wrote my first YA novel, Angel, it was a relief to embrace the US setting and plunge back into good ol’ American English.
But by then it was too late. The transformation had become complete. A note came from my US copyeditor: “Do you mind if we change this word? It sounds really English…”

Angel (Angel, #1)Angel:

Angels are all around us: beautiful, awe-inspiring, irresistible.

Ordinary mortals yearn to catch a glimpse of one of these stunning beings and thousands flock to The Church of Angels to feel their healing touch.

But what if their potent magnetism isn't what it seems?

Willow knows she's different from other girls. And not just because she loves tinkering around with cars.
Willow has a gift. She can look into people's futures, know their dreams, their hopes and their regrets, just by touching them. But she has no idea where she gets this power from.

Until she meets Alex…
Alex is one of the few who know the truth about angels. He knows Willow's secret and is on a mission to stop her.
The dark forces within Willow make her dangerous – and irresistible.
In spite of himself, Alex finds he is falling in love with his sworn enemy.

The Blurb from Goodreads: This is the thrilling second chapter in the electrifying "Angel Trilogy". Angels will never be seen in the same way again. Gorgeous, charismatic Alex has the courage and skill of a trained Angel Killer. Unique, dazzling Willow has the beauty and power that comes with being half-angel. As the power of the malevolent Church of Angels grows, now it's up to Alex and Willow to train a new team of Angel Killers. Willow soon finds her half-angel identity met with hostility by some of the other AKs, while privately, she must wrestle with the knowledge that her father, Raziel, is a depraved, evil angel. However, while life in the AK training camp is tough, at least Alex and Willow are together. But when Alex discovers that the death of his brother and fellow Angel-Killer, Jake, was linked to a secret CIA mission to defeat the angels, he is forced to leave the camp to complete his brother's work... without Willow. Alex promised Willow he would never leave her, but with the fate of the human race at stake, destiny has ruled that Alex and Willow must be parted once more...

The Review: "Willow, things feel more uncertain than ever now," he said finally. "But I love you. For as long as I live - if that's fifty years from now, or just next week - I'll love you."
>
Let me tell you, Angel Fire was mind-blowing, spine-tingling absolutely brilliant. L.A Weatherly blew me away with her first novel ‘Angel’ and she’s done it again and left my utterly speechless.
<
We’re back with Willow and Alex once again, their more in love than ever and have high spirits on their journey to try and find more Angel Killers to stop the Angels. On their journey Willow has a premonition that they should head to Mexico because she feels something dangerous is about to happen. What Willow doesn’t except is to start dreaming of a mysterious young boy, who for someone reason she doesn’t want to live without.

When Willow and Alex finally arrive in Mexico, they manage to catch up with some AK’s and start training them. However, the other AK’s aren’t as welcoming to Willow as she’d like. So when Seb finally arrives; the mystery boy from her dreams, she finally feels like she has someone she can relate too.  But will the arrival of Seb stir trouble for Willow and Alex’s relationship? And on top of everything else, the AK’s prepare for a battle that could cost everyone their lives.

Wow!  How do I even try to put in words how much I loved this book? Honestly, I don’t even think I’d do it any justice because it is absolutely fantastic. When I found out Angel Fire was just over 700 pages long, I was shocked. I don’t ever recall reading a book that long and yeah I’ll admit I had my doubts about it. But boy was I wrong. Every single page of that book was meant to be in there and without it I don’t think it would have been the same. I loved it that much that I devoured it within three days and didn’t even want to put it down. So a huge well done to L.A Weatherly!

The story from start to finish was full of intense and action packed scenes and even when we got to the quieter parts of the book, it was still full of incredible emotions that you can’t help but love this book.  The love and heartache that went into the story is very much real and you feel it through-out and especially for our characters, Willow and Alex. There lives are getting more dangerous by the minute and there not getting any easier but still they try to do the best they can and they try to look to the future even though it looks pretty bleak. I love both of them and I’m a huge fan of their relationship but I have to say, I think Seb was a fantastic addition to the story. I know people are thinking ‘Oh no, another love triangle’ but honestly, read this book before you judge it. Yes, the love triangle is a major factor to the back part of the book but it felt like it belonged their. It didn’t feel forced because of Willow and Seb’s situation and even though there were a few heart-breaking and tear-jerking scenes….this is what made this book and for that….I loved this book even more.

The story is heading in a fantastic direction for book three and I honestly can’t even see the outcome. You just never know what to expect and October 2012 can’t come quick enough.  Now I’ve got a long and painful wait for book three but I know it will be well worth it, because L.A Weatherly totally raised the bar with Angel Fire and I know she will give us a spectacular final.

A huge thank you to Usborne Publishing for giving me this fantastic opportunity to review this book.
