Furniture Shopping

Last night juston and I went to RC Willey to look at furniture. It was seriously one of the best dates ever! It was so fun. We just window shopped. We walked around, sat on couches and chairs, asked lots of questions and pretended we were actually going to buy. Seriously, so fun. These pictures are the pieces I really wish we could get but never will.... Ha

Swimming

Wednesday was Ryker's first birthday.  So naturally his mom wanted to do lots of fun things - which meant inviting his best friend Jackson! :)  We went over after preschool to let them swim in their little kiddie pool.  It was so fun.  The boys both love water and splashing all around.  They were laughing and laughing splashing each other.  Jackson did discover the rocks and just wanted to play with them instead of his toys/water.  That was fun trying to keep him out of.  It makes me a little sad we didn't get a pool and do that more while it was so hot.  Oh well.  I am so glad we have such good neighbors/friends that we can go do fun things with.  It sure makes the days with Jackson easier/better.  Neither of us like to be cooped up all day.  Fun day :)

Park

A few weeks ago we decided to have a little park night with our friends.  We had dinner before, went to the park, came home and put the boys to bed and had dessert.  It was a great night.  At the park we mostly just pushed the boys on the swing and went down the slides two times.  Jackson loves the swings though so it was a lot of fun.  I'm excited for this cooler weather so hopefully we can go to the park a little bit more.

Bath Time

For dinner tonight we went to our neighbors house for tacos.  We made the boys quesadillas and avocados.  When they were done they were, of course, super messy.  So we just stripped them down and threw them in the tub.  They had so much fun.  We were soaked by the end and they were happy as could be.

Messy Boy

Jackson has NO problem getting messy while he eats.  He gets ridiculously messy almost every day.  He loves smearing the food all over himself - such a weirdo!  These pictures are from when he had some roasted red pepper pasta and the others are avacado.  He loved them both :)

Fun Day

Today was a busy, fun day. We went to juston's work party for a little while. It was at a park and today was hot. Plus we forgot the diaper bag. Needless to say we didn't last long. We did have fun while we were there though. We had cotton candy (which crazy baby didn't like!), fed Jackson some snow cone to cool off, and played on the swings. It was fun. I also thought it was fun to get to know some of justons coworkers a little more.

When we got home I went over to my neighbor's house (aka my awesome friend Nitosha) to help set up for her son's first birthday party. It turned out really cute. I decorated the cake for her last night. It was fun to do that again. The party was fun. He got lots of toys that him and Jackson will have tons of fun with I'm sure. :) afterwards we cleaned up, the boys fixed their leaky sink, and just hung out.

It was a somewhat crazy day. But it was fun so that's all that matters :)

iPhones

We finally got them today! I am loving it. I haven't gotten to play with it a ton yet because today was so busy. But it's really nice. I finally feel like I'm up to date with something ;) I think my favorite feature so far is the speed. Everything is so much faster than my old dinosaur. It makes using my phone so much easier.

Well, I'm sure there will be plenty more blogs coming from this phone. Night everyone!

Jackson Learning to Walk

Jackson has been figuring out how to walk for the last few weeks.  I think most of it is because his friend across the street (2 weeks older) has been figuring out how to walk.  He really loves this walker toy.  He used to get so frustrated when he would run into things because he didn't know how to turn or go backwards.  He has slowly figured out that obstacle and has much more fun with it now.  Just today he has started standing without having something to pull up on.  He is walking a lot more.  He just gets too excited, claps, and falls down.  I am excited he's walking, but not excited about the climbing that will follow. Ha.

So, the videos don't seem to want to upload.  And I can't figure out how to delete them.  Sorry.

Girls Camp

Right after we moved into the house I was able to go to Girls Camp with our stake as one of the craft ladies.  I will admit, I was a little stressed out going.  We had a lot going on (we were in the middle of getting moved in, the preschool set up, etc).  It was hard to take a week off and go to camp.  I am so glad I did.  It was so nice to get away and just enjoy the simple things in life.  There wasn't cell phone service so I didn't ever get on the internet or text or anything else I waste time doing on my phone.  I loved it.  I spent time talking with my mom and the other leaders and just enjoying the beautiful mountains.  I think I really needed that break from life.  I did miss my boys a ton while I was gone.  It was the first time I had ever left Jackson.  That was hard.  I think it made me a better wife and mom when I got back though.  I am so glad I was able to go.

Dakota taught about sanitation - this was her handout

One of the crafts was 1st year necklaces.  They had to paint the beads and one girl decided it was easier/faster to do it like this instead of with a paint brush

The awesome cake to celebrate 100 years of Girls Camp

An awesome picture of my mom :)

Everyone at the craft/service day

The craft we made.  They turned out really cute.

Jackson Update

It's been quite a while since I've done an update about this cute boy.  I'm so sad I skipped 10 months - picture and everything - altogether.  It seems like so much has changed since 9 months.  He seems so much bigger all the time! Jackson, would you PLEASE stop growing so fast.

I think this stage is probably my favorite.  I love that he knows who Juston and I are.  We are still his favorite people.  He is mobile, but not too mobile.  He can play independently but still wants my attention.  I just love everything about his age right now.  I think I can honestly say there is nothing I am thinking "oh I can't wait until he can do....."  I am purely just enjoying this age.  I love it.  So really Jackson, just stay this age forever ok? :)

So what is Jackson up to these days?
- Standing on his own like a champ
- Taking lots of steps when prompted (he doesn't really just walk on his own.  We stand him up and he will walk)
- No longer doing his "lizard" crawl.  He will do it every once in a while.  Mostly he just does a normal crawl everywhere.  He is very fast!
- Has a Leap Frog toy cell phone that is his favorite.  He will play with it for a good 15 minutes at a time (which for him is a really long time)
- Loves to take things out of containers and put them back again
- He loves to play with balls.  He loves to push them around, eat them, chase after them, etc.
- Still has his really loud high pitched scream.  He does it when he wants attention or is frustrated.
- Only has two teeth (bottom front).  We have been working on the top two for about two weeks now.  It is getting ridiculous.
- We are finally working on a schedule with him (now that our lives have a little more routine).  It is helping a lot.
- Does a really funny "cheese" face.  He does it especially well at dinner, and even better at dinner when we pull out the camera.
- He has his first friend, Ryker.  They are two weeks apart and live across the street from us.  At first Jackson was shy and let Ryker do whatever he wanted (steal toys, eat all the snacks, etc).  But now Jackson is learning to stand his ground.  It is pretty fun to watch them interact.  I also like that they know who each other are and get excited to see each other.
- We found the first food he doesn't like.  Eggs.  One day I decided to scramble up an egg to feed to him.  He loved it and ate it super fast.  The next day (or a few days later, I don't remember) Karen made one for him and he would not eat it.  He would stick it in his mouth, spit it out, and throw it over the side of his chair.  We waited a few days and tried again.  After one bite he just started putting it behind him like he was hiding it or something.  It was surprising to find something he doesn't like.  So far everything else we have given him he has eaten like a champ.  I think I can handle one thing he's picky about.
- He had his first poop in the tub a few weeks ago.  We will give him a bath in our shower and then let him just play in the empty tub while we get ready for the day.  On this day I was sitting on the floor facing him but couldn't see into the tub.  Juston was getting ready and we were just talking.  All of a sudden Jackson held up something brown.  I freaked out, held his hands out, and made Juston clean it up.  Great moment I know. Ha.

Well, I think that's pretty much an overload of Jackson right now.  He is so much fun and we are loving being his parents!  Now if only he would learn to sleep in. ;) Ha.

It's Been TOO Long

Wow - Life has been a bit crazy the past month or so.  I definitely need to do a few catching up posts.  So much has happened that I can't possibly try to justify a short little post to cover it all.  In the last month and a half we have: bought a house.  Painted, tiled, and moved into said house (I feel like that makes it seem like we hardly did anything.  But it was seriously so much work).  Transformed a garage into a preschool.  Started a preschool.  Saw my brother and new sister go through the temple and be sealed in the temple.  Ummmmm, I'm sure there is a ton more.  It has been a BUSY month.  It won't get any less busy for quite some time either.  I keep holding on to the hope that maybe, just MAYBE in January things will slow down a little.  Coming up we have: Jamen's open house, Juston's work BBQ, Jamen's open house, Jackson's first birthday, my birthday, Juston's birthday, siblings birthdays, the holidays......LOTS.  Whew.  Hope we can make it. :)
