DD March 2012

Hello Hello

Time for this month's Duel between the Darlings and Divas ~ and Terry and I are hosting this month! Yea! Terry had this month's idea - to create a masculine card for the guys in our life :) I had so much fun putting this kit together!

For the kit, I picked out an image and sentiment from "Hey, Man!" which is by A*Muse Art Stamps. I hadn't used this set yet, so it fit the theme perfectly. :) The patterned paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle. I picked it out because of the masculine colors, and the texture was so cool! I so need to go back and get more for *my* stash.

The rest of the kit had brown felt, brads, Ribbon Slide, Spiral Clip, 3 different ribbons, and PTI Buttons. I went with a lot of browns and metals to help along the masculine feel. :)

And of course my shout-out would had to go to the #1 guy in my life, my Dad. We have the most awesome relationship.  Both of my parents have always been there for me, which I am so grateful for! This is my favorite picture of us, from a Badger Basketball game a few years ago.

Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy your Sunday. :) Hugs ! LJ

Happy Birthday Tavi!

Today is Tavi Pearl's 3rd Birthday.....Woo-Hoo! This is the card I made for her which I gave to her Saturday at her Birthday party. We had such a fun time! All supplies except card stock are from October Afternoon. Their flower sacks are so much fun!

It's hard to believe this little blessing in my life is THREE years old already ~ where does the time go? .....I still remember the very day she was born:

Her first birthday.......

Her second birthday (this taken the morning of)

And every little moment in between......

Thank you for going down memory lane with me today......... Hugs ~ LJ

Duelng Diva's #4

Good Morning!

It's time for this month's round of Dueling Divas. This month's hostess is Barbara Lynn, and the theme is "Thankfulness and Gratitude". Barb chose a beautiful whipper snapper image and sentiment for this month's challenge. She also included multiple embellishments, many of which are on my card, and some beautiful DP from Basic Grey (Indian Summer Collection).

Fall is a wonderful time of seasons, and my favorite seasons, I love the changing leaves, and the peaceful times before the winter days ahead allow me to reflect on things I am most thankful for, such as my health, my family & friends, and for the Lord above who is always watching over me and ones that I love. My life would not be the same without the many blessings I have been given, and for that I am very thankful not only during the fall season, but 12 months a year.

I also decorated the inside o the card which is shown below:

I hope you enjoyed my post for today, Please check out the other Darling Diva's as well,

Judy is next on the list

CHA Chicago

Home from the CHA SuperShow in Chicago (yesterday actually) and had a great time with my mom who came along.  We have not done many mother/daughter trips together and this past long weekend just enforced even more how much I love to spend time with her. It was a perfect "girls trip", including plenty of retail therapy!

Above is a card I created today with some of my goodies I came home with, the stamps are from Papertrey Ink (Four of a Kind - Limited CHA Only Release). I used Terracotta Tile (PTI), SU! Old Olive, and GKD Chocolate Kisses for my color combination - which I am quickly falling in love with. The size of the floral image (which is two stamps, the leaves are separate from the flowers) is a whopping 4.0 X 4.25. So the card base is 5.5X5.5 square.

I couldn't possibly create this post without a CHA picture of my mom and I ~ we had so much fun together. We both love stamps and paper so CHA Chicago was the perfect summer trip for us!
