Vintage Walk & Challenge #73 "Stress it"

Friday, and time for another new release and challenge over at A Day for Daisies. This weeks new release is a vintage one, so for our challenge we want to see distress on your cards.

I used the image 'vintage walk' and did my favorite technique which is paper piecing and then I took my distress inks and some water and dipped my tag into it several times to get that distressed look.

Merry MM#68

Monday and that means that Lesley over at Always Playing with Paper has a new Merry Monday sketch for all of us.

I used papers and ephemera from October Afternoon on my card. Not sure why, but this sketch gave me a little bit of a hard time and I ended up creating two cards before I was happy with this one.

Mechanical Paper Dolls - A Day for Daisies

This weeks new release over at A Day for Daisies is one of my favorites that Tammy has done. She has created several sets of Mechanical Paper Dolls with costumes and wings. 

I had so much fun dressing up and putting together the dolls that I just had to create two of them. I paper pieced their outfits. These have endless possibilities. I added magnets to the backs of mine and they can go on the fridge or on a file cabinet in your craft area.

I am happy to report that I am once more caught up with Project Life. When my computer died I didn't have access to my photos for a few days so it put me behind.

summer fun

A quick layout to share with you that I created for this months Scrapbook sketch challenge over at Artful Delight.

I used a picture of my two sweet great-nephews Adrian aka ACE and his little brother Ryder. Paper and chipboard are by Echo Park from the Lori Whitlock collection 'a perfect summer'. The base piece of paper is by Crate Paper from the Pier Collection, thickers by American Crafts. 

Here is a closer look at the elements I used. I sewed 3 circles in white thread around the photo to replace the piece of card stock shown in the sketch. I am thinking I should have used a black or a navy blue thread so it would pop more.

Twas the night before... MM#67

Okay, Lesley has come up with a great sketch for us to use for this weeks Merry Monday challenge. I found the sketch to be a little bit of a challenge this week as well.

I hand cut top layer of my card and then used my score-buddy to draw in the lines, which I covered up with the ribbon in the end.

ADFD ~ Nature Challenge

Last week over at A Day for Daisies we released the June Club Kit and there are some amazing animal images.

This week for our challenge we want to see "Nature" on your cards.

I used the 'soft hen' image and added some feathers to my card.

I don't think I ever told Tammy but I am in love with "funky chickens and roosters" and have them in my kitchen. I have been a fan of them ever since I was a little girl. My Grandma Williams had a fabulous collection of them throughout her house.

This week Lesley over at Always Playing with Paper has a great sketch for us to use for our  Merry Monday challenge.

I have to admit that I cheated just a little and used fishtail banners to replace the pointed ends on the sketch.

I think my card this week looks a little masculine so it will probably be going to my brother and his girlfriend.

Project Life ~ Week 22

I can't believe it is Thursday and time for another look at my Project Life layouts. It has been grey and rainy here in Minnesota so I had a hard time getting photos this week.

Here is a look at Side One. 

Lots of photos this week and almost thought about doing an insert so I could include more, but decided against it. I just created a few layouts with multiple photos like the one in the lower right hand corner has 3 different photos of things going on in my craftroom this week.

Lots more photos on this layout too and even a couple of 4x6 photos with overlays on them. Decided to get a couple of photos of my two guys in their normal spots during the day. Joe at the TV and Justin on the computer.

I have a card to share with you along with a new challenge over at By Lori Designs. Our challenge theme for the next two weeks is "for daddy".

For my card I used Peddle Pusher Birdhouse Brian. He is one of my all time favorite images and use it whenever I can. With Fathers Day almost here I thought it would be perfect for this challenge.

celebrate YOU ~ SD#5

A new challenge started over at the Scribbles Designs challenge blog and this is my first time playing along as a guest designer.

The theme this month is 'celebrate Mom or a special woman with flowers and to kick off the challenge Sandy is offering a wonderful flower image on the blog. All she ask is that you do not post the image on your blog.

I used the free image on my card today.

I used some of my favorite stickers to create the sentiment a few scraps of paper from my stash and added some glossy accent to the roses after I colored them with Copic Markers.

just because

Have you ever bought an entire stamp set for just one image? 

That is exactly what happened here. I love this little boy with the balloon and was willing to spend way too much just for the image. I did pass on the rest of the set to a friends little girl after I carefully cut this one out of the set.

It will be great for some birthday cards that I need to make for a couple of my little nephews.
