Obama and McCain Exit the Debate
The third debate was a microcosm of the first two. John McCain had his best night, but still was unable to shake the very cool and unflappable Barack Obama. Many Republicans rejoiced over the line, "I'm not Bush".
What I saw was an angry old man, huffing and puffing and making little noises and faces as Obama spoke, as McCain put it, "so eloquently". It is this anger that illustrates how out of touch Sen. McCain is with the mood of the American people. He said three straight times that the people are angry and that he is angry. The American people are frustrated, worried, scared, depressed, and looking for a leader that can speak English (unlike Mr. Bush), and who has the demeanor and presence to inspire confidence and make the people feel secure. Anger is the furthest thing on your mind when you can't afford gas or groceries and/or are facing foreclosure. You don't want to be angry, you want help.
Is John McCain really not George Bush? Let's watch.
