Autumn Birthday Card

Hello there

It was my daughters birthday last thursday so I'm sharing the card I made for her. She is so not a girly girl and really does NOT do pink and frilly so when she told me she loved the green card I smooshed I knew I had to use it.  And what better for a September birthday than autumn colours.

Green background paper smooshed with TH Shabby Shutters and Mowed lawn Distress Inks with a touch of Inca Gold
Leaves are smooshed with TH Fired Brick and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks and a quick squirt of gold shimmer spray.

Less is More # 90

Good Morning All!

Yuk! A really foggy, damp and miserable day today, and freezing too so I`ll make this a quick one ( must get some proper heating in the loft).

It`s theme week at Simply Less is More and this time the theme is AUTUMN.
Apart from the cold it has to be my favourite time of the year. I adore autumnal colours, the greens, golds, oranges and reds and tend to use them througout the year especially in home decor.
Anyway, onto my card.

Like Chrissie, I am in awe of Birgit`s
designs. Unfortunately I haven`t got her flair for design but I have stolen borrowed a design element that she uses with the frame.
I started with a 5x5 card base in white linen card and masked off a square in the centre.
I stamped the sunflower from Flourishes, then made a mask before inking the square with Versacolor Sand, Marigold, Orange and Magenta inks.
I removed the masks and coloured the Sunflower with Promarkers.
The frame is made using two nested square dies and raised on foam pads.
The sentiment is computer generated.
It`s my SiL`s birthday this week so I`ve taken advantage of the challenge to make her card.

This week has simply flown by, I really don`t know where the time has gone. I`ve had the beginnings of a cold hanging about for days which still hasn`t come to anything and I`ve been really tired. Hopefully this next week will see things improving and make more of an effort to get around to see you all.

CR84FN Challenge # 39

Hi All!
Do you ever design a card in your head and it looks perfect but when you actually get down to making it, some how it just isn`t the same? That`s exactly what happened with this card for this fortnights cr84fn challenge. I think it`s because I made the flowers too big and, because I haven`t had time to change them, the whole design has been altered to fit.Still I`m relatively pleased with the result.
I so love this time of the year and it really has to be because of the gorgeous earthy colours we get.So with the inspiration for this fortnight being as they are I simply had to join in.
Brown textured card from Papermill shop (before it closed) made into 15cm square card.
A strip of corrugated kraft card overhanging slightly with gardeners string wrapped around.
The flowers are made from tissue paper cut with a scallop nestie and scrunched.
The sentiment is from Papertrey Autumn Abundance set cut out with a tag punch.

That`s it from me for now, thanks for popping in...Lynne xxx

The Play Date Cafe Challenge # 100

Hi all, happy sunday.
It`s been ages since I had the time to play in the Play Date Cafe Challenge but seeing as it`s their 100th challenge and looking at these gorgeous colours in the inspiration piccy, how could I not play.
All my fave colours in one go,heaven.
I`ve kept it really clean and simple with lots of white space to really show off the bright autumn colours.
I ran a panel of card through the cuttlebug using the Birds and Swirls EF then matted it onto a piece of orange card and trimmed it so there was a very thin border.
The sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a neste labels 4 die. I cut another label in the orange card and cut it in half, then placed the sentiment label on top leaving an orange border at the sides.
The flowers are hand rolled from a Marianne designs Die and the leaves are punched. And that`s it, easy peasy.
Right, back to the ironing (sigh)

Autumn card

I told you in my last post that I love this time of year. Not only is it a bit cooler than the summers we have had just lately ( when it hasn`t rained that is ) but the changing colours on the trees are beautiful. Not only that but orange is my favourite colour so I think Autumn was created just for me lol. Which brings me to the card I made to celebrate the season. In this country we don`t celebrate enough I don`t think, our friends across the pond seem to embrace every thing and celebrate it so I thought I`d put it right ( in my loft at least).
The backing paper is from shabby princess and the stamp is by Hero Arts
I`m not sure about stamping orange onto orange card for the sentiment but it looks good when the light catches it.
The sentiment stamp is Anita`s.
