Feast day of the Blessed Mother

This morning the kids woke to this treat on the kitchen table.
September 8th is the feast day of the Blessed Mother. The birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary has been
celebrated as a universal liturgical feast at least from the sixth century. Although the actual date of Mary’s birth isn’t known, it is recognized on September 8th, and the celebration of the Immaculate Conception was fixed on December 8th. The date corresponding to nine months before the celebration of her Nativity. The two feasts commemorating Mary's conception and her birth can be seen as forming a kind of bridge between the Old Testament and the New Testament. With the conception and birth of the Blessed Virgin, God completed the new Ark. Mary is the Ark of the Covenant. As the Ark held the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament. Mary the Ark holds Jesus the covenant in the New Testament. We have so many reasons to celebrate and honor Mary the mother of Christ our Lord.
It saddens me to hear the disrespect she is given, along with the disrespect many Christians that honor her are given. The confusion of Catholics worshiping Mary have gone on for years.
Catholics worship one God in three persons {The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.}
God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
We honor Mary the mother of Jesus Christ. The mother of the heavens. She carried Christ in her womb. She loved and cared for him, her child. She watched him suffer and die on the cross for our sins.
Even in the prayer Hail Mary, we are honoring her. Recognizing her as Christ mother.
When the angel Gabriel came to Mary he said ( Luke 1,28) "Hail full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women" When Mary went to visit St. Elizabeth (the mother of St. John The Baptist and cousin of Mary), Elizabeth said  (Luke 1:42), "and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus", .
I want to end this post with lyrics from a Christmas song, I heard only a few years ago.
~Mary Did You Know~
Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will one day walk on water?
That your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
That your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, Will soon deliver you
Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
That your baby boy will calm a storm with His hand?
That your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little boy
You've kissed the face of God
Mary, did you know?
The blind will see
The deaf will hear
And the dead will live again
The lame will leap
The dumb will speak
The praises of the Lamb
Mary, did you know
That your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
That your baby boy will one day rules the nations?
That your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding
Is the Great I Am
