Dusty Attic June Release - Amazing Moments DT Layout

Hi everyone,
Today I am sharing a travel themed layout with a holiday pic from a recent cruise this year for my husbands's 60th birthday, created with June release Dusty Attic chipboard and stencil designs.

"Amazing Moments"

With so many gorgeous new designs, it's difficult to choose which ones to create with!! but I was drawn to the fabulous new travel border and corner chippies as they are the perfect match for the recently released Mintay Papers - Wanderlust Collection.

To create my background I used the new Burlap Stencil design, with modelling paste which I coloured by mixing with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide reinkers in pistachio mixed with a touch of tumbled glass.

Textured embossing powders are a great way to alter your chipboard.  I used Stampendous shabby pink embossing enamel on the Sand Dollars and Starfish to create texture and Emerald Creek Baked Texture embossing powders on the Travel Borders and Corners.

The Chain Rectangles chipboard frame was altered with Ranger Ancient Gold embossing powder, which looks more like a copper brown and a mixture of WOW verdigris and Stampendous White embossing powders for the Amazing Moments mini caption.

Dusty Attic July Mood Board Challenge - Happiness Blooms From Within

Hi everyone,
Today I am sharing my take on this month's beautiful Dusty Attic Mood Board Challenge, created with a few of the fabulous new June release chipboard designs.

I was inspired by the colour palette, as well as the berries and greenery in the birdhouse photo.  Remember you don't necessarily have to use the colour palette, you can be inspired by a particular photo, or an item in one of the photos, that is the wonderful thing about being inspired by a Mood Board... so many possibilities!!
"Happiness Blooms From Within"
I adored the gorgeous colour contrast of aqua, red and white and the berry details in this month's Mood Board and knew I had the perfect papers in my considerable stash...which sometimes comes in handy!!

Loving the new Burlap Stencil!!  I used the stencil with turquoise DecoArt Metallic Lustre paste on my background, which I softened by randomly stamping around the stenciling with Prima script stamp in Vintage Photo distress ink.
The pretty Foliage #3 chipboard pieces were coated with a green ink and Lucky Emerald Antique Brilliance Wax then highlighted with touches of turquoise Metallic Lustre to add depth.
I also used the turquoise metallic lustre to coat the new release Delicate Frame #3 chipboard frame and the small words on the new Happiness Blooms From Within chipboard title.

Page Pebbles are a great to incorporate into your layered clusters.  I just coated mine with white ink, by dabbing lightly until coated, so the etched words aren't filled with ink.
To make sure your colours pop and aren't dulled by the grey of the chipboard, prime chipboard pieces with white gesso.

Dusty Attic - Forever in my Heart Canvas

Hi everyone,
Cathy here today sharing a pretty canvas created with some of the new release Dusty Attic chipboard designs and one of the new Impact Titles.

"Forever in my Heart"

I am in love with the new industrial chipboard designs which are perfect for masculine or feminine grunge/vintage themed layouts and just the thing for steampunk inspired creations.  This month I have created a canvas using the Industrial Hearts and teamed it with one of the new Impact Titles 'Forever in my Heart'.

To tie in with my heart theme, I used Prima Matte Gel Medium with the sweet Mini Heart Stencil.  Once dry, I misted over the stencilled background with Lindy's mists in silver and coral tones.

The Industrial Hearts chipboard pieces were first coated with gesso, then whilst the gesso was still wet, I sprinkled with Stampendous aged silver embossing powder and heat set.
To add a bit of dimension, I layered a few of the Mini Cogs, which I embossed with Lindy's Kaiser Rudolf Russet, then swiped over with a touch of Copper Inka Gold, and topped with a few pearls.

For a touch of contrast colour, I tucked in sections of Wildgrass #2 in amongst the fussy cut flowers.  The wildgrass chippies were altered by coating with gesso, then adding a coat of Little Birdie Lime Crush Tinted Metallic Paint.

The new release Impact Titles are so versatile and there are so many to choose from!!  Keeping to my heart theme I have used the 'Forever in my Heart' impact title.

To alter the title I coated with gesso, then added a coat of Vicki Boutin Iridescent Glaze.  Once dry, I lightly swiped the edges with DecoArte Metallic Lustre in Polished Coral.

Dusty Attic April Mood Board Challenge - A Moment Captured

Hi everyone,  Today I am sharing my take on this month's Mood Board Challenge at Dusty Attic.  How fresh and pretty is the colour palette!!

"A Moment Captured"
I took inspiration from the colour palette and the floral accents of this month's Mood Board.

I started by stenciling my background with Dusty Attic Bedazzled Stencil and white texture paste.  Once dry I misted around the stenciled design with yellow mist.
How gorgeous are the new Fancy Frames chipboard designs!!  I altered them and the Mystic Flourishes by first coating with gesso and then coating with white Liquid Pearls to add textured glossiness.

Another of the fabulous new release chippies are the Impact Titles... so many to choose from!!  I have used "a moment captured" which I altered by coating with cobalt archival ink, then inking over the top with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in Faded Jeans.
The fern leaf chipboard pieces were altered with a coat of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Peeled Paint, then a coat of Twisted Citron Distress Oxide.

Why not pop in to the Dusty Attic Website to check out all the gorgeous new release chippies.
