Pilin' On the Holiday/Vacation

The themes this month at Pile It On are Transportation and/or Holiday/Vacation. You can choose one or both themes, and you may enter the challenge as many times you like, as long as you are inspired by at least one other Challenge theme. We're sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps, and I used his fun scene with Lifeguard Lyn.

The sentiment was inspired by the sign at some swimming pools: WARNING No Lifeguard on Duty. My sign reads: WARNING Nervous Parent on Duty.

The blue panel is a piece of a blue towel; my Father-in-Law has gifted us many of these over the years, and thought it would be perfect tp include on a Father's Day card for him. He's always been amazingly supportive of my crafting & I know he'll get a huge kick out of this.
The palm tree shaker is from Queen & Co. and I filled it with stars & a gorgeous sequin mix from Spiegelmom Scraps that I recently won from Stick It Down. The Father's Day sentiment is from a Dilo en EspaƱol stamp set. The banners are cut from rubber strips.

Moochas Gracias -- Pilin' On the Pets and/or Colored Image

The themes this month at Pile It On are Pets and/or Your favorite way to Color an Image. You can choose one or both themes, and you may enter the challenge as many times you like, as long as you are inspired by at least one other Challenge theme. We're sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps, and I used their cute Cuddly Cow.

I really love using my Copic markers to color images; it's so easy to shade and the blender pen comes in handy for those little mistakes! And although cows aren't traditionally kept as just pets, my cousin lived on a working dairy farm and took her favorite cow with her to get her senior photos!

I used my "Surprise Box" die set from Our Daily Bread Designs, and incorporated a grass die from Elizabeth Crafts with the interior pop-up pieces. I decorated the box with a double-sided sheet of DP from Doodlebug. I created the sentiment myself.

Wondering why the cute cow is purple & golden yellow? As you may know, I'm expecting our first child, and my Aunt & Uncle sent us a baby coverall featuring the Minnesota Vikings. This is sort of a family joke, because my Aunt & Dad are originally from Wisconsin, and being a Green Bay Packers fan is practically family heritage. There was some smack-talking between family members when I posted about the gift on Facebook! So I had to keep up the joke...notice that I used "bay" green for the base card and "cheese" gold (Packers colors) for the message section!

Love is a Four-legged Word -- Pilin' On the Pets

The theme this month at Pile It On is Pets. The only really rule is to be inspired by more than one papercrafting challenge. We're sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps, and I used their hilarious Walkies digi stamp.

You may remember that I used this image back in 2016; I had so much fun making that card, I just had to use it again! I cut the frames with stitched-square dies. The pawprint ribbon is from my stash. I made the sentiment myself, and drew the stitching on the outer frame by hand.

Ewe're the best! -- Pilin' on the Puns and Plaid

The theme this fortnight at Pile It On is Humor/Puns and/or Plaid. The only really rule is to be inspired by more than one papercrafting challenge. We're sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps, and I used his Pride and Joy digi stamp.

The image was colored with Copic markers, fussy-cut, and placed onto a photo background that I got from a magazine. The border was made with a cork sheet & a QuicKutz die. The mats and base card are cut from the backing paper that came with the cork sheet! I've had this plaid DP in my stash forever, and it was perfect for this project. I made the silly sentiment & backed it with some wood tape. I didn't do anything to the wood veneer embellishments, except for putting a bit of wood tape behind the star, because I thought it would distract. I used a ZIG glue pen to add white flocking to the sheep.

Inspiration/Challenges:
Dare2BArtzy: Lots of Layers
Die Cut Divas: For the love of animals + die cuts
The Male Room: Wood from my Stash

Pilin' On the Recycling

The theme this fortnight at Pile It On is Recycle. We're sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps. I used their hilarious Walkies digi stamp, along with a humorous sentiment stamp from Viva Las VegaStamps.

I started with a background of corrugated cardboard (the stuff you get at Panera Bread) and colored it with several inks. I added a layer of crackle paint to the "barn" portion. The grass is leftover from an order of sushi. The fence pieces are wood shapes that I painted with crackle paint.

Pilin' on the Red & Green

The theme this week at Pile It On is Red & Green. You can use any shade of these colors! We're sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps and I used their Naughty or Nice digi stamp to create a joy fold card.

The door, wreath & bow are cut files from Bird's Cards.

For the inside of the door, I used a free printable from Rooftop Post.

The card base is a double-sided DP. Here's a view of the inside before I added a white message section:

Pilin' on the Strong Men

The theme this week at Pile It On is For/Featuring a Father/Man. We're sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps, so I used Strongo the Magnificent to make a fun card for my dad:

The circus tent is a cutting file freebie I grabbed a long time ago, I'm not sure from where. I used SCAL to create the card base, which I cut from a yellow-orange paper on my Silhouette Cameo. The shimmery red & star-patterned DP is from Recollections' "Comic Heroes" paper pack, as is the polka-dot paper I used to die-cut the frame on the inside. The top layer was cut from a shiny yellow paper, and I heat-embossed stars in gold all over it.

I colored Strongo with Copics. My husband and I have been enjoying watching classic Strongman Competitions on TV; seriously, it is great entertainment! I made his dumbbells by die-cutting black Styrofoam from a take-out container. The dumbbell bar is made with a Fiskars stamp and Shrinky Dink plastic; the sentiment stamp is quite large, so shrinking it down made it the perfect size and even gave it a fun bend.

The tent cutting file came with a banner on top, but I cut it off and instead used a die from a•muse studio's Cupcake Toppers set. The front is made from more shiny yellow paper, and I decorated it with a sentiment stamp and gold-embossed wood stars.

Pilin' on the Die Cuts

This week at Pile It On we're challenging you to use your Die cuts and/or Punches.

I used Mad Hatter from Doctor Digi's House of Stamps, along with dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I adore this "Happy Unbirthday" stamp from Rogue Redhead Designs, as I all-too-often want to send a birthday card to someone that I know will arrive late!

I dry-embossed the teapot & cups on a shiny cardstock, fussy-cut them, and heat-embossed them with metallic gold powder. The top layer was cut with the dies from a gold-foiled cardstock. I used the same shiny cardstock to make the little sugar cubes, which I heat-embossed with Holographic powder.

The background is a watercolor paper. I heat-embossed the sentiment directly onto it, and made the tea-stain with a TH stencil and distress inks.

The Mad Hatter was colored with Copic markers, fussy-cut, and made into a tag. I backed it with a White Rabbit image from a Graphic45 Wonderland-themed paper, and added a scrap ribbon piece that's been floating around my craft table for some time!

Dies R Us Challenge #23: One for the Boys
DoubleClick Skittles #18: Punny or Funny Sentiment

Pilin' on the Humor with Dr Digi

This week at Pile It On! we want you to make us laugh. From a giggle to a guffaw, we're looking for project with a sense of Humor!

We're sponsored by Doctor Digi's House of Stamps, a great place to find humorous digis, and I just fell in love with Blunder Woman:

The sentiments are by TLC Creations and the speech bubble is from a freebie set from Squigglefly.

I converted the Wonky Silhouette Cityscape digi stamp from Beyond the Fringe Crafts into a cut file in SCAL, and cut them on my Silhouette Cameo.

Of course I had to add a little metallic embroidery floss, reminiscent of Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth.

I put the lovely Blunder Woman on an Action Wobble:

The patterned paper with the lager stars is from Graphic 45's new Sports collection and the one with the smaller stars is from October Afternoon's 5&Dime collection.
