Nature's Beauty by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hi there. It's Debbie with you today from Debbie's Time Out.  I just love cards with birds on them so I was happy when Cheery Lynn Designs released another hummingbird detailed so beautifully.  Along with the new Fleur De Lis design, it makes for a elegant card.

I made a white card base and then layered the Fleur De Lis Boutique Stacker A2 Frame  in the center and the Fleur De Lis Border Set  below that.  I layered the Rectangle Stitch and Cut Tool  in the center of the Fleur De Lis Boutique Stacker A2 Frame . I also layered some of the  Fleur De Lis Border Set  along the top of the  Rectangle Stitch and Cut Tool .

This photo shows how I used the Lace Hummingbird Flourish  by cutting out the hummingbird from the die cut  and rotating the flourish part a bit. I then added the new Humming Bird  where I cut the original hummingbird out from. This follows along with the challenge theme "Add a Flourish". Flourishes are fun and always make a card more elegant.

Here I used the Cherry Blossom  and the Embellishment #2 to create the flowers. You can see how
beautifully detailed the hummingbird is when inked up. The hummingbird is absolutely gorgeous.

The top corner shows the new Fleur De Lis Tag . The round Fleur De Lis emblem in the previous photos is part of the tag die set.

I would like to thank you for visiting the blog today and for the nice comments that you leave. I really appreciate and enjoy reading the comments. It gives me a idea of what you like to see.

Non-Traditional Holiday Shaped Card with Rhonda

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Happy Monday Cheery Lynn Designs friends!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

My project is an oval shaped card featuring our Oval Silver Stackers, Oval Stackers and layered with the Oval Horizon Boutique Stacker Frames.  To further accent the shape, I cut one of the Sentiment Frame #2 dies, then cut it in half to accent my top and bottom of the card.

"Holiday Wishes"

The birdcage die was such a pretty fit to this shaped card that I just had to use it!  You see the same Sentiment Frame a second time on the card, only cut from a few papers for interest.

I used mini silver bells for a few of my floral centers on the miniature roses. The coral flower was inked with white chalk ink to soften the color a bit.

Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:

I was inspired by this week's challenge to create a holiday card using a non traditional color scheme and I hope you are too. The details are available here. A $20 shopping spree to the Cheery Lynn Designs store is going to be awarded to some lucky participant!!!

Thanks so much for stopping over to visit us today on the blog, have a fabulous week!

Keepsake Box

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hello again everyone,

For my project this week, I have designed a neat little keepsake box.  I thought this might be a nice idea that a Bride and Groom could use to store some of their memories from their special day.

I started by making a traditional box where the top of the box opened and thought that it needed just a little more flair so I also added a drawer for some extra storage.   I used a magnet which I sandwiched between the layers of paper to keep the top of the box closed and the drawer is based on a match box but just bigger.  Once I  had both made I glued them together and then wrapped DP around both the hide the seam.

Here is a closer look at the top which I decorated using some of my favorite Cheery Lynn dies.  A full list of what was used can be found below.  The rose was created using the Build A Flower #3 die.  I thought the distressing on the DP made the rose look so elegant for this special keepsake box : )

Here are the list of dies used:

I hope you can find some time to visit the challenge this week and put in your entry where the theme is Wonderful Weddings!  With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Have a Cheery Day!

Let It Snow! with Snowy

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Good Morning Cheery Lynn fans, Donna here today with my last Cheery Lynn card for 2012, as we are taking a break for a couple of weeks, to relax, enjoy the holidays with friends and family and get ready to show you what's coming up in 2013.

For my card today I followed the theme of the weekly challenge which is "Lots of Layers".

I started off with a 7.5inch x 7.5 inch card, then made my first white layer using the Pearl Square Mega Reflection Boutique Die, I then cut some pretty blue Christmas paper for the next layer, and then cut a layer of brown kraft cardstock using a smaller Pearl Square die and another square cut of beige Christmas words paper. I topped that layer with the Mexican tile pattern square of which I cut another kraft cardstock for underneath it so it would stand out even more. I then used a Penny Black snowman image on top, colored with Copics.
I've created some falling snow with a Viva Decor ice white pen, and added my favorite Stardust Stickles for his hat and the snow. I've cut out a laced pine snowflake cut in half to fit underneath the Mexican tile pattern. I've also added some matching twine underneath and finished it off with a hummingbird die and some more beige pearls from the viva decor pen.

Here's a list of the dies used on my card

Thanks for stopping by today, wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year, see you again 2013

Love

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Hello! Jodi here today with a 12x12 layout for you. I finally got a chance to play with some fun dies new to my stash!

I started by cutting the Mega Tea Party Doily in half and placing the halves toward to top and bottom of my layout. I added the Border Carnivale amongst my background layers. To the top right corner you see the Pennant Die dressed up with the Lace Light Deco Border for a bit of added elegance. Lace Corner Deco B dresses up the left corner of the photo. Backing my floral cluster is the Garden Gate.
The large white flower is constructed with the layers of the Stacker Flower #3. I inked the inside of the flowers, and finished the edges with a light dry brushing of gold paint. Build a Flower Embellishment #2 was used to create the flower center, as well as the Baby’s Breath and small pink flowers. The edges of the Miniature Roses were also lightly brushed with the gold paint. Foliage from Build a Flower #2, Flourish Leaf Strip, and Rose Leaf Strip.
Isn’t the Bird Cage beautiful?! So many possibilities! Under the cage are branches, as well as Baby’s Breath and little pink flowers from Build a Flower Embellishment #2. The leaves are from Small Leaves #1 and Small Leaves #2. The Hummingbird flutters gently above the cage. Anastasia Border is tucked under the tear in the background paper.

Design sketch and papers are inspired by a from Quick Quotes.

Sentiments

2:30 AM 5 Comments
Hello! Jodi here with a card featuring the new Thank You sentiment!
The base of the card is cut using the Scalloped Oval Stacker Nesting Die, layered with the Classic Oval Silver Stacker. To create the sentiment block, I cut the teal cardstock using the second smallest of the Scalloped Oval Stackers. Using a smaller Classic Oval Silver Stacker, I removed the center of the teal cardstock and layered the backside with vellum for a softer look. I placed a white Celtic Heart atop the vellum for a softer look. Next, the new Thank You sentiment in hot pink to stand out! Lastly, the beautiful new Lace Hummingbird rests atop the sentiment. The English Tea Party Doily is tucked in behind the sentiment block adding elegance.
Petals from the Build a Flower #2 were used to create the buds. Foliage from Build a Flower Embellishment #2 were used to complete the bud, as well as the small white flowers and Baby‘s Breath. Other foliage from Mini Fanciful Flourish, Small Leaves 2, and Flourish Leaf Strip.

Pretty Princess

2:30 AM 10 Comments
Hello! Jodi here today with a 12x12 layout.
I pieced the Francesca border around the outer edges for a feminine flair. Scalloped French Flair Nesting Stacker, layered with the Classic French Flair Silver Stacker created the prefect background behind my photo. Using foam adhesive, I placed a sticker atop a diecut from Sentiment Frame #1 for my title.
A close-up of the flowers bouquet. Have you checked out the new flower and embellishment dies?! Such a variety of options on one die…easy storage, easy cut, and economical! I’ve used the Build a Flower #2 to create the pink rose, and add leaves to the bouquet. Build a Flower Embellishment #2 was used to create flower centers for the white and yellow Sweet Williams flowers, as well as create the Baby’s Breath, and the little red and blue flowers you see scattered about. Fanciful Flourish completes the ensemble, along with Stacker Flower #1 leaves tucked. Lace Hummingbird flutters gently above.
Layers of borders are a fun way to add delicacy and pizzazz to your projects. I’ve chosen a combination of Queen Anne’s Lace, Border Carnivale, and Tangled Hearts.

There is still time to enter this weeks challenge for you chance to win the $20 shopping spree!

I know why the caged bird is singing on this card!

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Did you get my reference to the famous book?
I am still having a ton of fun with dies from the August New Release.

The new dies I have used on the card are Bird Cage, Hummingbird, Celtic Whimsy and Embellishment #2.

Dies that are not from the new release are Scalloped Rectangle's, and Mini Fanciful Flourish.

I am so impressed with the intricate pattern of the Celtic Whimsy.  It cut easily and is such an impressive pattern.  This is easily one of my new favorites.

I also love the new Bird Cage.  What a gorgeous design.

Have you had a chance to head on over to our Challenge blog?

I just peeked and we are up to 41 entries already!  WOW, it's not even the weekend yet.
The theme is anything goes.  Remember you do need to use a Cheery Lynn Designs dies in your project/card to qualify, but still anything goes?  What have you got to lose?
Have a great weekend!  This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today's Cheery Lynn Designs post.

Happy!!!

1:30 AM 7 Comments
Good Morning Cheery Lynn followers!! It seems like I have been to a lot of weddings in the last few summers!  I'm one of those guests who always take a lot of photos and then make sure the happy couple gets a copy of everything I have.  It's exciting for them because they get photos that their hired photographer usually doesn't catch.  Although this photo is very similar to the one the photographer took so I added my own twist with some photo shopping.  Cheery Lynn Designs has some of the most beautiful dies for wedding scrap booking.  I reach for them every time I do a wedding layout.  For this 12x12 layout I used several new releases along with some of my favorite old standbys!!  For the Flourish I used the Tropical Flourish Die and for the Doily's I used the French Pastry Doily. The new releases I used are the Hummingbird, Build a Flower #2 and the for the leaves I used the Build a Flower #1 Petals and Leaves.  The smaller flowers are an oldie but a goodie, the Cherry Blossom Die.

This week our challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is Anything Goes!!!

The winner will be chosen based on merit by Cheery Lynn Designs. They will receive a $20 coupon for shopping at the Cheery Lynn website. The challenge will end on Sunday night at 22:00 Eastern time.  In addition, our design team members will be voting on 3 favorites who will receive a Weekly Spotlights badge to display on their blog. Be sure to come back on Wednesday to see who earned the badge.
Have fun creating and thanks for stopping by the Cheery Lynn Blog today!!

3:30 AM 6 Comments
Hello Everyone...This is Jeannie with a beautiful card to show off some of the new release of Cherry Lynn Designs dies.

In the top left corner I have used the new Butterfly Out die.

The bird on the branch is a combination of the new Hummingbird die and Embellishment #2 set.

The delicate flower is made from the Build a Flower #2 Plate

I've embellished some of the flowers and the butterfly with some i-rocks from Imaginisce, leftover from our fun joint swap with them.

My card is based on a design and products from a kit from Deena Ziegler.
I hope you have enjoyed my creation today.  I live for making these weekly creations, I really do!
Cheery Lynn Designs are magical to work with and this new release, WOW!!  That about says it all!
