On the wings of....

4:19 AM 5 Comments
Anyone else remember that song?  "On the Wings of Love"?
Hardly the inspiration for my card, but the title hit me when I was getting ready to write my post.

On the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog our new challenge this week is Borders and Edgers.
I tried to incorporate that theme into my card today.

I am still using my New Release dies and still very much in love with them all.

I love how colorful this is.  I think it fits the saying perfectly.

A Shoppers Dream

3:30 AM 4 Comments
This is a little shadow box I got for $1.00 at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section because what ever was in the shadow box had been ripped off.

Knowing I would use it at some point, yep, I bought the silly thing.

I'm so lucky to have all my Cheery Lynn Designs Dies to work with. Here is what my $1.00 "purchase" turned out like.

Improvement, agree?

I took the Reflections Scalloped Circle Die, and used it as a 1/2 circle for the banners at the top.

I framed the sentiment on the bottom with Scalloped Rectangles.

All my papers are by Authentique Paper and the stamp set it called If the Shoe Fits, by Unity Stamp Co.

I think this turned out adorable and I hope you enjoyed my post today.  This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana posting for Cheery Lynn Designs.

Altered Notebooks With Imaginisice & Cheery Lynn Designs

5:39 AM 32 Comments
Hasn't this been a fantastic week of fun here at Cheery Lynn Designs.
I have had so much fun seeing all the creations with the Imaginisisce papers and products.
I have created a set of altered notebooks.
They are made from basic composition books that you can get from your local office supply store. The ones that look like this:

But with a little imagination, Imaginisce products and Cheery Lynn Designs Dies, you can create some adorable purse notebooks.

The dies I have used on these are, Flip Flops, Fanciful Flourish, Buttons 1, Zig Zag Ric RacStacker Flower 3 and Fish.

I love making these.  I think that the more bright and colorful the papers are, the better the "purse" turns out.

I also used Imaginisce's i-rock tool to adhere some colorful hot rocks to both purses.

The large SUN KISSED DIE CUTS are so cute and the girl on the purse I think is the perfect touch!

Here is what the back of the purse looks like.

Here is the inside.

Here is the little "mini" purse.

Mini back.

Isn't it the cutest thing?

Here is the inside of the mini.

One last look.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects today.
I have enjoyed working with Imaginisce this week.  I am a huge fan and this has been quite and honor.

Fathers Day with personalized greetings

6:38 AM 7 Comments
Since Father's day is just a couple of days away, I wanted to make a special card for the man many children in my house call DAD!!
I am using lots of things from Canvas Corp and 7 Gypsies.

I used the 7 gypsies stamp sets called Numero and Ephemera.

You can see that I took the die called Window C and used it as my focal point.  The Window not only worked as my base but also worked for me to clip the bits and pieces of embellishments to the card with the mini clothespins.

I backed the frame with the Zig Zag border and used the leftover scraps from cutting the Lace Light Deco Border. As you can see, the leftovers work like a mini banner.

I used the Scalloped Square set for my tags that you see hanging with the clothespins.
I love the way this turned out.  It is truly a one of a kind card and thanks to the supplies that I used it is also personalized with dates and phrases that will be meaningful to the recipient.
I hope you have a great weekend.  Enjoy your fathers, brothers, grandpas, sons or whomever you share your weekend with.

Masculine Card with a Tutorial

4:48 AM 8 Comments
Hello everyone..Jeannie here with a little tutorial with a different variation of the card I made last week.
Last week I used the REFLECTIONS SCALLOPED CIRCLES to make this card.

Today, I am using the REFLECTIONS MINI PEAR: FRENCH FLAIR for my card.
To start, I cut out 4 squares using the 4th largest die and then one square for the card base with the 5th largest die.

Here are the cut papers all stacked up, you can see the base is just one size larger than the card pieces.

Take each card piece(not the base) and fold them in half down the middle.
Adhere them to the card base, forming a cross type pattern, shown here.
Two pieces are on the bottom,
the other two are on the top.

Here is what it looks like from the back with the base facing up.

To fold the card closed, start with the right flap, then the bottom,

then the left flap,

then fold the top down and tuck half of it under the the flap your first folded in.
This is the same way you fold packing boxes, get it?

Here it is, all closed up and ready to embellish.

So my card is dedicated to that theme.

I used the SCALLOPED SQUARE NESTING DIES for my card front panels.

I also used the Dotties Ric Rac and Ribbon Eyelet dies for some extra embellishing.

All of the paper and stamps are from CLOSE TO MY HEART.

All of my inks are from Stampin' Up!

Doesn't this card remind you of that Route 66 song?

I think it is the perfect MANLY card!

I hope you have enjoyed this brief tutorial today.

Criss Cross Bliss

4:35 AM 9 Comments
I came across an awesome tutorial for this Criss Cross card.
You can find the link HERE.
I do have to warn you, I don't think the directions are very accurate.
After a few revisions, I came up with this lovely card to share today.

This card is one of those things that after I am done, I could kick myself for not writing down the dies I used as I was going along.

I will try my best to let you know all of the dies I used.  On the card base I used:

For the band around the card I used FRANCESCA BORDER, TIFFANY BORDER AND BORDER CARNIVALE.

The sentiment focal point attached to the band, I used the following dies:

Here is the card with the band removed, you can see the Criss Cross Base in back/

All the paper is the brand new line from Authentique Paper called:
CAREFREE

I love the way this turned out and I think it would make a perfect Mother's Day card.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today.
