MOJO MADNESS - NATURE SILHOUETTE

Ever have one of those days? Well...today was one of them for me. My kids were a bit more rambunctious - the school they had said they did...wasn't done. ACK - and no one wanted to do it. Sooo..you know...it is Monday.
I have been working on memorizing Philippians 2:14 & 15 Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world...
so I am ending my fount there. :)
With being in a mood, I decided to hide in my room for a few hours. I wasn't going to spend that much time but I wanted to get one card done and the mojo really wasn't flowing that easily! :) Finally, a friend said, Do the MOJO Challenge and use a stamp set that you haven't used in a long while! Well... I looked on my shelf, and I know I purchased this set months ago and it wasn't even assembled! Then... I was stumped on colors, so she handed me the golden ticket and said pumpkin, chocolate and maybe Saffron if I felt like it... Well... One out of three isn't bad, is it? :)
So here is the MOJO MAD-NESS challenge... This week is #107 -
Here are a few more details:
Stamps by SU Nature's Silhouette and Warmest Regards
(Since I used all SU stamps - that means this is an ALL ABOUT JOY card!)
Cardstock: Walk in the Park DP, GUava, Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Nestibilities, Basic Grey Brads, Dimensionals, 5/8 Double Stitched Chocolate Chip RIbbon
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a fabulous day!

Bloggers Challenge #98 - Dragged Madras

Hello! I am so excited...I am designing another stamp set for a summer release and I am loving how it is turning out! I am going to try to focus, but Dora the Explorer is blaring next to me, so I am having a hard time focusing. :)
Anyways, todays Bloggers Challenge is to create a Mother's Day card. I decided to use the Dragged Madras technique from Technique Junkies. I love this technique, it is FUN and EASY! Since I used (mostly) all of Stampin' Up! this also qualifies for an ALL ABOUT JOY card too. All about Joy cards are my feature on my blog when I use mainly Stampin' Up! product.
Here are the details:
Stamp Sets: Inspired by Nature, All Holidays
Cardstock: Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose, So Saffron
Accessories: Oval Cutter by Creative Memories, Rounded Tab Punch, Dew Drops, Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, Mini Glue Dots, Glitter Pen, Prismacolored Pencils
Well, Dora is winning out over my thought process...all I can think about is baskets and bananas and yum, yum, yum, yum - whew that was close! LOL So for now, I am going to go, you have a FABULOUS day! Check out the other Blogger Challenge participants on the left hand side of the screen. They always inspire me to do something different and amaze me with their talents!
Have a great day!

ALL ABOUT JOY - BACKGROUND SMOOSH AND A REMINDER!

Good Day again! Have you all stopped by the Creative Belli Blog and Copic Colour Challenge group yet? This week, at both groups, I am sponsoring the challenges! If you have some time, participate in the challenges. We enjoy seeing your work!
I am a bit behind on some of my computer work, but will be tending to some things today. We have had activities every day and then we throw in a lot of adventure! Yesterday, I took my mom shopping and when we returned, the children were reviewing their AWANA verses when my youngest fell off the chair and split her chin. It was 4:30, so I called Prompt Care to see if they did stitches, and they say "NO" so off to the Emergency Room again. I think they know us by name there. One thing, I praise God for is we go there often, but they have not been life threatening illnesses or accidents yet!
This past weekend, I had some stamping time and this was another card I created using the Background Smoosh Resist Technique, found in the Technique Junkies, February Newsletter
if that link does not work it is www.patstamps.com. For some reason Blogger has not liked that link when I try to do direct links.
You may notice, this is an ALL ABOUT JOY card and for some of you who may be new here, my friend Joy likes to see cards that are Stampin' Up! only, so I TRY to make cards using Stampin' Up! products only for her once a week. Now everything on this card is SU except for the Nestibilities.
On this card, after making it, I wished I hadn't used the dots - but it was done and I couldn't change it without taking the card apart...so it is what it is! :) You can check HERE for another card using the SAME background. When I did this technique, it made TWO.

Here is a list of materials I used to make this card...
Stamp Sets: Inspired By Nature, Warmest Regards, Rough Texture Wheel all by SU
Cardstock: Glossy Cardstock, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black, Whisper White, Apricot Appeal
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Basic Black, Versamark,
Accessories: Heat Tool, Nestabilities, Dimensionals, Dew Drops, Mini Glue Dots, Turqouise grosgrain
On another note, a friend shared this devotion with me this week and I thought I would share it with you today as well because it was a GREAT reminder for me!
"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee.” Psalm 55:22

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:There was a man carrying a heavy load of grain down a country road. Another man in a horse-drawn wagon saw him and said, “Mister, do you need a ride?” So the man walking got in the wagon, but he kept the load of grain on his shoulder. The wagon driver said, “Man, put that down and relax!” But the man answered, “Oh no. It’s enough to ask you to carry me without having you carry this also.” Have you ever done that to the Lord? You say, “Lord, I’ll let You save me, but I’ll carry my own burdens.” How foolish we are to do this with the God who hung the stars and planets.
ACTION POINT:If you can trust the Lord to save you from hell, don’t you think you can cast your burden upon Him right now?

This was a good reminder for me.
All of us are carrying a burden or fear that He never intended us to carry.
I know that I am guilty and I pray that this will be a reminder to you to cast all on Him.
Have a Blessed Day!

BLOGGERS CHALLENGE -#85 AND ALL ABOUT JOY!

Edited to answer a question...
IT'S FRIDAY! You know, in my world, that does not mean a whole lot... Each day runs into the next when you Home School your children. I honestly wouldn't have it any other way though! I love spending (most of the time) my days with my children.
This week's Bloggers Challenge is a SKETCH CHALLENGE. (See below) I just recieved a Stampin' Up! order and HAD to use my new Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Sets. Do you ever think you need your head examined? Well...I often think I do. I cut this tree out - then stamped it on RED STICKY STRIP and cut it out. Then taped it down and added MICRO BEADS. How CRAZY is that!?!? I do really like the way it looks in real life though...but not sure I like it so much I would want to duplicate it! LOL Here are the details of my card...
Stamp Set: Thoughts and Prayers by SU
Cardstock: Barely Banana, Handsome Hunter, Urban Praisrie Basic Grey DP, Whisper White
Accessories: Red Sticky Tape in 8 1/2x 11 sheets, Microbeads, Pearl Brads by K&Company, 1/16th hole punch, Vanilla 5/8th ribbon, Paper Piercing Tool, Sponge, Primas, Glue Dots

Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to check out the other Blogger Challenge participants cards! I always enjoy looking at them and I know you will too!
Have a blessed day!

Chrissy D

P.S. Linda asked...Hi Chrissy, Wow, this card is truly stunning!! And then to read how you used a technique that required cutting it out twice. AMAZING. I love cutting things out, and I have mega patience, but I am still in awe of your work!! No one else has asked, so I will......So, how many trees ended up in your garbage can that day?? A little slip here, and a little slip there, and you've lost an entire branch!. Now I read where you get to spend time cuddling babies. I am soooo jealous. Keep up the good work and kuddos on being a wonderful friend. Linda S. in NE
THANK YOU for your kind comments!!! The answer to this question is NO trees went into the garbage! I accidently did cut TWO branches off (the side ones) BUT with the Red Sticky Tape, I taped them down, lined them up and then put the micro beads over it. You can not tell. You couldn't even tell once I pieced it back together. :)

ALL ABOUT JOY - EVER AFTER

This year for Valentine's Day, our Hands and Feet Care Ministry is giving a care package to the single moms. I volunteered the Card Ministry to make cards for the single moms. So we made this this week to give to them. The inside will have this poem...
Your Divine Valentine

A Valentine may play a love song for you, but God sings you the sweetest love song in the universe.

The Lord your God...will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. ZEPHANIAH 3:17

A Valentine may give you flowers, but God sent you the most beautiful rose of all, Jesus.
I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. SONG OF SOLOMON 2:1

A Valentine may take you out to dinner, but God has invited you to the most amazing feast ever given.
Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb! REVELATION 19:9

A Valentine may bring you chocolate, but God provides you with something even sweeter, His Word.

How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! PSALM 119:103

A Valentine may love you for a lifetime, but God loved you before you were born and will love you for all eternity!

Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. JEREMIAH 31:3
-Holley Gerth

BLOGGERS CHALLENGE #79 - CELEBRATION AND ALL ABOUT JOY

I took the past 2 days off and just enjoyed my family. I hope you all did too! I decided to use this stamp set I purchased and didn't put together *gasp* until today!
If you have been here before, you know that an ALL ABOUT JOY card is for my girlfriend Joy, who wants me to make cards using Stampin' Up! Only - but you know there are times, I can't help but deviate from that and use other embellishments. So this is a card for Joy! There are TWO things that are not SU - the cuttle bug Swiss Dots AND the Red Bling Stickers. She will understand though and still HAVE to love me, despite my straying from the original plan, RIGHT?
This week's Bloggers Challenge is a CELEBRATION theme, so I decided to focus on Valentine's Day. In fact...the next week or so will be cards with that theme, I think. LOL I wan tto focus now on something other than Christmas cards. I feel I have been making a ton of those and I am ready to do something else! When you are done looking here, be sure to check out the other Blogger Challenge participants (links are on the Bloggers Challenge icon.) Their work is SURE to WOW you!
Next week will be the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog Hop and Release Party! I hope to see you all there!
Here is the list of products that I used:
Stamp Set: A HAPPY HEART
Cardstock: Pixie Pink, Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black (Markers too!)
Ink: same as above
Oh wait, I just remembered...I used the Nestibilities too - sorry Joy. LOL You can use the Coluzzle or other Oval Cutter system of your choice, but you will miss out on the cool Embossed edges...
Acessories: Swiss Dots Cuttlebug, Big Shot, Sponge Daubers, Red Bling Stickers, Dimensionals, 5/8 Red Grosgrain, Black & White gingham, Scallop Edge Punch, half inch circle punch
Thank you for stopping by! Have a fabulous weekend!

JUST BUZZIN' BY - ALL ABOUT JOY

I think it has been a few weeks since I have created an ALL ABOUT JOY card. For those of you who are new here, I have a local friend Joy who often tells me she enjoys seeing my Stampin' Up! Only cards. So I have created a day for her. :) I try to put an SU only card once a week.

I used this as my Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoast on Sunday, but I really went off course from the orginal card. :) You are supposed to change at least 2 things from the card, but I changed a few more. This week's Featured Stamper was Paulatracy and HERE is the card I cased. Her entire gallery of work is absolutely FABULOUS and her coloring is impeccable!

I used the Cuttlebug Highlights technique -and then sponged the edges with white craft ink. I colored these cute little bumble bees with Copics and used the Nestibilities to frame them, then the Big Shot Top Note die.

You will notice, I did use Dew Drops on this card, if you would choose to use strictly SU, I would advise Joy to use the Black Vintage Brads in place of the Dew Drops - but I prefer the Dew Drops.

Now, anyone who gets this card will be VERY special - because I decorated the inside! :) Come back tomorrow for the BELLI CHALLENGE in between your Christmas preparations or when you are ready to wind down! HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

BELLI CHALLENGE DAY - BELLI'S GONE BY, SNS BLOG HOP & IT'S ALL ABOUT JOY!

Hello! Wednesday is BELLI CHALLENGE DAY - but with the Thanksgiving holiday looming ahead - many of our designers wanted to take the week off. But if you are a DIE HARD stamper - and not much of a shopper, you will be home avoiding the crowds and wanting to create, RIGHT? lol

So I decided to celebrate BELLI'S GONE BY - you know the ones?

What is the Belli Challenge you ask?

Each week, I try to give us a challenge that will use things we have lying around our stamp rooms! With a constant flow of new things coming out, I tend to forget about the other things I have and they quickly become clutter!

This weeks, Belli Challenge is to make a project using WHATEVER PAST BELLI CHALLENGE YOU WISH!

Here is what you need to do...
1. Anyone Can Play! Spread the Word! :)
2. Make a completed project embellishing your work with the Belli of your choice. Share the link here in the comments linking to my Blog and CBC and the number of the Belli Challenge you chose!
3. When you post to Splitcoaststampers or to your Blog, be sure and put the CBC - and the Belli Number you chose as your KEYWORD and mention of the challenge - with a link!
4. I will do a random drawing for all participants and have a special pack of assorted Designer Papers for the winner!

Last week's winner is Barb - you can see her fabulous card HERE. Be sure to leave her some comments! We all love them! :)

Here is a list of BELLI'S GONE BY!
1 BEADS 2 RUB ONS 3 BUTTONS 4 WHEEL 5 CHIPBOARD 6 – SKIPPED THIS NUMBER 7 HARDWARE 8 FLOWERS 9 GLITTER 10 CHALKS 11EMBOSSING POWDER 12 SCRAPS 13 UFOS- Unfinished Objects! 14 RIBBON 15 PENCILS

For some ideas - check out the Belli Design Team's projects! Their links are all on the LEFT sidebar! Check out their fabulous work and spread some love their way! :)

My project details:

This card is for JOY! She loves it when I use Stampin' Up! and while the DP and Dew Drops are not SU - I believe this will still qualify!

Also, the Belli's I chose are: #17 - DIE CUTS, #31 BAUBLES & BLING
I first colored the Inspired By Nature flowers with chocolate chip, More Mustard and Old Olive and stamped off. Then I took the markers and recolored certain areas to make them have shading. I *huffed* and stamped the image on my white TOP NOTE cardstock. I stamped the grass in Kiwi Kiss - then took the markers on the thin .8 tip and highlighted a few more areas on the images.

I sponged the edges of the Top Note Die with Not Quite Navy and Chocolate Chip - all other layers are sponged with Not Quite Navy only.

The border is cut using a cuddlebug die -and I attached it using my xyron.
Stamp Set: Inspired By Nature and Upsy daisy
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, SOft Sky (retired), Basic Grey Urban Prairie, Whisper White
Ink: More Mustard, Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy, Soft Sky
Accessories: The Wizard - for borders and Top Note, Dew Drops, Mini Glue Dots, Lg. Ovel Punch, 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 circle punch, Dimensionals

Things I am thankful today...

1. My sisters. One of my sisters and I have had a long road of difficulties, but we are overcoming them through forgiveness and time. God is good! I grew up with 2 beautiful sisters and have 3 half sisters and a brother - one sister that I have a relationship with, the others I do not know well.
2. My faith and salvation - my faith defines everything I am about. My journey and who I am and what I am becoming. Jesus Christ has died for our sins and I have accepted His free gift of salvation and eternal life. He is my everything.
3. Sleeping through the night. I often remember those years of having babies - that season of life never seemed like it would end. My husband and I would get in so many arguments in the evening about who would get up or WHY the baby was crying. Sleep is a good thing. I do not function well with out it.
4. My MP3 player. I recently purchased one and listen to books on it from Audible.com. LOVE THIS! I used to struggle with falling asleep at night. I would lay there for HOURS and toss and turn thinking about my to do list - but now I put in my head phones - listen to a book for about 5 minutes and I am OUT! (my husband would say snoring. LOL) Since I have been doing this, I no longer toss and turn. I do have to rewind a bit in the morning.

November Blog Hop Schedule
11/26: You'll start here and then head to Christi
11/27: Kathy & Faith11/28: Janette & Sandy
11/29: Jessica & Korin &
11/30: Michele & Chris

We are not having a RELEASE PARTY in December - we are celebrating all of the previously released stamp sets! Be sure to come back later today for another project.

Ok, enough rambling! Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day! As you prepare for your THANKSGIVING meal, be sure to prepare your heart for the day too! That is most important. The meal will last a short time, but your heart, mind and soul will be with you long after.

Be Blessed -

IT'S ALL ABOUT JOY #2 - Beate's WSC #65

I know! I said Tuesdays would be all about Joy, but then I made this card and thought I would share it with you all today.

So Joy - your card is being posted on Sunday instead of Tuesday...okay? My dear friend Joy asks me to post more Stampin' Up! stamp only cards, so this is using several all in one! There are 2 items that I used that are not Stampin' Up. That is the dew drops and the gold glitter pen.

I made this card using Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #65. I have to say, I kind of "cheated."
I have a box of scraps, so I grabbed them to use them up!

Here are a few more details:

IT'S ALL ABOUT JOY

Well, at least that is what SHE thinks! ;) You would think that my post yesterday would have had that title, right? Well, my dear friend Joy, whom I just went away for the weekend with gives me my BLOG commentary at least every other week. Her main comment is, "Chris, you rarely use Stampin' Up! stamps on your blog and I NEED ideas!" - so in honor of my dear, special friend JOY - Tuesdays will now be my day I feature a Stampin' Up! ONLY project... UNLESS- it is a release for one of MY sets or Sweet 'n Sassy stamps. :)

I have recieved the distinct HONOR to join the Courtney's Challenge Chicks! Each Tuesday, Courtney features a new challenge! This week's challenge is a COLOR COMBO! Rose Red, Brilliant Blue and Always Artichoke...Be sure to check out the other Challenge Chicks fabulous creations!
Here are a few details for you... I used ALMOST ALL Stampin' Up!. The only 2 things on this project that are not, are the blue Bling and the white snowflake brad that is on the Felt Snowflake.
Stamp Set: Let it Snow? (unknown Holly stamped me this image!)
Cardstock: Brilliant Blue, Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Rose Red SHimmery White - markers same color!
Accessories: Snowflake felt, Bling, Cuddlebug, White Gel Pen, Glue Dots...
I doodled around the main focal image...
Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate your comments.
So Joy, How is this? :)
Have a great day!
