June ornament

Okay, so I know I've only managed to finish two ornaments so far this year but trust me that's two more than last year!
My June ornament is by Angel Stitchin and is called Christmas Joy. It's from one of the JCS ornament issues. I can't remember which issue right now but if anyone is interested I can look up the year. I'd like to finish it as a pillow ornament.

An introduction

Hi everyone! I'm Lynn, a new member to the group and want to thank Jennifer very much for the invite. I mentioned on my blog that I hoped to get some ornaments done in the new year and I'm hoping that all of you can keep me motivated to do just that. I finished my first ornament just after the New Year although it was a work in progress since the beginning of December. Holiday activities just kept pushing it aside. I'll post this as my first contribution to the group. I'm new to finishes so bear with me since that may take me a bit longer!

Anne's April ornies (a bit late)

I made up for missing March too by having an entire day yesterday devoted to ornie stitching. Here are the results:

Cardinal-Snowflake
Cardinal Snowflake by The Victoria Sampler
from 2004 JCS Christmas ornie magazine
Stitched on 28ct Kiwi Illusions Jubilee in Alpine Spring (Countrystitch)
using substitute threads from my stash

Merry-Christmas-by-Glory-Be
Merry Christmas by Glory Bee
from 2003 JCS Christmas ornie magazine
Stitched on 28ct 'mystery' evenweave
using recommended threads except for using Crescent Colours Toasted Marshmallow instead of GAST Porcelain

Christmas Rose by Elizabeth's Designs

from 2002 JCS Christmas ornie magazine
Stitched on the same 28ct 'mystery' evenweave
using all the recommended threads

All is Calm

Here is my effort for this month - All is calm (designed by Sam Sarah Design Studio/Just Another Button Company) from the 2003 issue of Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornamants. It was a pretty quick stitch so I ended up doing the finishing this weekend too.

All was not calm this morning as I tried to interpret the finishing instructions and failed repeatedly. So the finishing has been fudged a bit. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out in the end.

Candy Cane Stocking

My first stitching for the Ornament SAL...By Blackbird Designs from JCS Xmas ornie mag 2003. I really enjoyed making this and doing the finishing and I love to see this blog with everybody's ornaments. It is very inspiring :-))

My third January ornament

This is my third January ornament.
It's Merry Christmas, from Glory Bee,
published on a JCS Christmas Ornaments issue.
I have used DMC Variations 4210 for the red, 4050 for the green and 4160 for the white.

It was very quick to be stitched, and I have realized it yesterday afternoon.

The back fabric is a Mumm Winter Whismy label pannel on green.

You can see the front and the back of the ornament.
