SUNDAY SKETCH WITH MARINA

Hello everyone! Here's Marina and today I brought you my first page in my new 6x8 album (btw, it's a gorgeous Sea Glass color and I love it!).

Let's take a look at the sketch - it's very simple and straightforward and I enjoyed following it literally! :)

And this is what I ended up with:

Here I combined two great mini-kits RETRO & EXPLORE and added a large header at the top to balance out the composition and create a visual triangle with the photos and these beautiful floral die-cuts.

I also used our September Traveler's Notebook digital Basics and Pattern papers to create these frames and add a decorative stripe at the bottom.

Since my page tells the story of how my daughter is visited by the tooth fairy (our version in Ukraine is a mouse that takes a tooth from a special "tooth pocket" under the pillow), the beautiful clocks from the RETRO Kit say that it's time for new teeth! :)

A little touch of puffy magic here and there ;)

And to conclude, an inscription from the September Digital Cutapart Elements - oh, I love it!..

I hope that you enjoy this sketch as much as I have and I can’t wait to see what you will create!
Happy crafting!

SUNDAY SKETCH with Suzanne

Good morning CTK friends!

Today I have made 2 layouts using this sketch! I had so much fun documenting them in my 6x8 album as well as my life crafted album.

For my life crafted album, I used the digital papers from June, typed the journaling, and cut them in a small format so they would fit my page. For the background I used a starr  stencil and modeling paste, a  very subtle way to add more layers to your page

.

For my 6x8 album I used one of this month's cut files, and cut it multiple times. I used watercolor paper so I could add distress oxide to make it match with the digital papers. To layer them, I glued them to vellum paper and placed them behind the photo.

I hope that I have provided some inspiration to use this sketch, and I can’t wait to see what you will create.

Happy crafting

Love Suzanne

3-to-Inspire with AMY

Hello weekend crafty warriors!  Today I am sharing the latest layout in my New Zealand travel album.  This is a double 6x8 layout with a 3-Pocket 4x3 plus Journal Spot page protector in between to hold even more photos.  I wanted to challenge myself to use my stamps in a different way in this layout, and I hope you try it too!

Today's 3-to-Inspire Challenge:

1. 4x6 Tiny Words Explore Stamp

2. Life Crafted Explore Die-Cut Ephemera

3. Citrus Twist Explore Puffy Stickers by Elif Sahin

I used the 4x6 Tiny Words Explore Stamp to create a brick-like background pattern to go in the middle, narrow pocket of the 3-Pocket 4x3 plus Journal Spot page protector on both sides of the cardstock, and embellished them in different ways.  On the front, I stamped the word "wander" multiple times, then stamped "wonder" once and embossed it in a contrasting color. I picked the colors based on the colors I saw in the larger photo.  On the back, I stamped the word "wander" again in a brick-like pattern, and embellished it with a floral piece of die-cut ephemera. I then added a few stars from the Citrus Twist Explore Puffy Stickers by Elif Sahin pack to link with the star photo below.

The left 6x8 image is embellished simply with part of a journal card from the April Travelogue kit.  It mirrors a similar embellishment on the prior page to create continuity between layouts. The right 6x8 holds the journaling for this layout, and used one the digital journal cards from the Explore kit to tell the story.  I elongated the card a bit in Photoshop to tell my longer story, and cut the top off the card and popped it up using foam dots to give a bit of digital texture to the page.  Finally, I tucked one of the Life Crafted Explore Die-Cut Ephemera under the side to note the location and date.

I had fun playing with stamps, die-cut ephemera and stickers in this layout, and I'm exited to see how you use them in your layouts!  Be sure to tag me @alphins_little_corner on Instagram, and have a great weekend!

SUNDAY SKETCH with Nathalie

Hello crafty friends!

Nathalie with you today to share this week's Sketch challenge.  I think it is no secret that sketches make it so much easier to get your projects finished in a flash.  Think of them as the blueprint for your page.

Let's take a look at this week's sketch:

I used the sketch as inspiration to create a new 6x8 layout for my Summer 2015 vacation album ( 6x8 Teal Life Crafted Album) using the EXPLORE kit and Digital files from the shop.

I loved the layered look of the sketch, and used Digital Patterned papers from the June  Explore Digital File collection, and May Crave Digital File collection.

Since I am using color pictures for my  page, I decided to limit my color palette to cool tones.  This helped to ground the page, and make the photos stand out.

I drew inspiration from the sketch to layer the photos.  However, I decided to omit the journaling spot, and use larger photos.  To balance the size of the photos. I decided to move my title to the bottom of the page.  The EXPLORE kit ephemera and White Puffy alphas created the perfect title for the page.  I chose to use the location of the butterflies in the sketch to place repetitive embellishments in my page.

I decided to create a companion pocket page for this spread. This helps me to add more photos of the day, and unclutter the spread a bit.

I am sticking with the color palette for the pocket cards.  I added my journal to a Digital card from June's EXPLORE Digital Journal Card collection, and printed the second card from the May 2022 Digital Collection.  I added some ephemera pieces from the EXPLORE and TRAVELOGUE kit to to the photos and cards.

I hope this inspires you to use the sketch for a project of your own. Cannot wait to see what you create with the sketch

XO

Life Crafted with Krystal

Hi there! Krystal here with a new spread in my 2019 Project Life album using the September "Explore" Life Crafted Kit.

Even though this month's kit has an "explore" theme, I was able to use it to document a couple of very ordinary, very unadventurous days in our lives. It just goes to show how versatile these kits really are! The pretty florals and soft colors in the cards and embellishments I chose were perfect for this everyday kind of spread.

I only had three photos to document, which left lots of space for journaling. I chose three cards to use as journaling spots and one card to use as a filler card. I added a mixture of both typed and handwritten journaling, just to keep things interesting, and added a few stamps from the Traveler's Notebook stamp and the Simple Words Version 2 stamp.

I pulled my color scheme from my photos to give the entire spread a very cohesive look. The blues, pinks, and yellows were perfect for this spread. I used several of the florals from the die cut ephemera pack included in the Explore kit and added a few extra bits from the subscriber exclusive digital cutapart sheet.

The tiny alphas were perfect for adding titles on these small cards! I used them in conjunction with one of the puffy stickers from the kit and with the larger chipboard alphas to create all of my titles on this spread. I love how these combination titles look!

I finished off my spread with a few doodles to give the page a bit more personality and to add a bit of black throughout the page. And that is the page all done! I love how easy it is to create a beautiful, cohesive page using the Life Crafted kits!

Be sure to check out my process video to see how quickly the whole thing came together.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Until next time,

POCKET LIFE PAGE WITH LAURA

Hello ladies! It's Laura here and I want to show you a Pocket Life page I created with a mix of the Life Crafted kit and Scrapbooking Add-on kit. I love how easy it is to mix them up! The colors and all the beautiful florals and labels are amazing!

I started choosing the base papers for my pockets, a mix of PL cards and 6x8' patterned papers. You can see that they are quite simple but I wanted to add the fun afterwards with all the embellishements. ;)

So, the fun started with all the pretty floral ephemera pieces that were on the Life crafted kit, it's such an easy way to create your own filler cards, there are never too many flowers!  Don't you think so?

Then, I continued with the label stickers from the Scrapbooking Add-on kit from the collection Office hours by Pinkfresh Studio. So fresh and bright! They are perfect to add a little bit of journaling. You can layer them on top of your pictures or use them as part of your cards. :)

You can see that it was so easy and fun to create this page! Just add all the beautiful embellishements you can! So, I hope that you get inspired and don't forget to visit the Citrus Twist kit shop to see all their beautiful kits! See you soon!
