Believe! --Merry Monday #273

January 21, 2018

I am so excited to join the Merry Monday Challenge.  I had a little extra time this week with the snow in Atlanta and when I saw Marcia's color combination, I had to play along!  Red and Turquoise are my favorite colors!

I dug through my Christmas stamps and found an old   favorite by Tim Holtz.  I love this Santa because he is so retro!  He makes me smile.  A red card base and some turquoise patterns is all I needed to pull this together.  The banner is cut with a Reverse Confetti Tall Tag dies and the Believe is from Papertrey Inks.  A big red button, white twine and Wink of Stella completed my card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Have a great week!

Merry Christmas--Merry Monday #217 Sketch Saturday #433

Oct. 10, 2016

When I saw the challenge at the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge, I knew just what I wanted to do.  I love retro things, too, so this was right up my alley.

I am using the sketch from Sketch Saturday from Simon Says Stamps.  I love lots of layers, so this sketch is perfect for me!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used a variety of plaids from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Christmas Pack.  I backed the layers with red card stock.  The retro Santa is from Tim Holtz Christmas Memories and stamped in red ink.  I also added a number #25 in the corner.  Enamel dots and Wink of Stella were added to give Santa some shine.

SO happy you stopped by my blog today!  I love to hear from you, so please leave a comment.

Trick of Treat --PP #265

October 4, 2015

It's Sunday and time for a new Challenge at The Paper Players!  The lovely, Joanne is our hostess this week and she is thinking about Halloween.  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card base is Rich Razzleberry.  The next layer is Basic Black.  I used a piece of Neenah Solar white paper and stamped the little mouse from Penny Black Stamp Set-Be Very Scared with Momento black ink.   I colored it with Copic Markers.  I then cut a mask and covered the mouse.  The Carta Bella- Spider Web Stencil was taped over the paper and I used 3 shades of Distress Ink (listed below) to create this background.  I just love the way it turned out.  I stamped the sentiment with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Pretty Pink Posh-Silver Star Confetti was added to complete my card.

You Are A Fabulous Work of Art--Sparkle and Shine Challenge

October 1, 2015

It's time for a new Challenge at Sparkle and Shine!  We can't wait to see what you create using the inspiration photo!

For this challenge we are sponsored by the amazing Pretty Pink Posh! Her shop contains tons of beautiful sequins all colors and sizes along with amazing dies to help you create! The winner of our challenge will received a $25 gift card to her store!

When I looked at the inspiration photo, the first thing that caught my eye was all the beautiful colors!  I knew just what I wanted to do.  I started my card with a white base.  I cut a piece of watercolor paper with my SugarPea Designs-Zig Zag Rectangle Dies.  The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set, "Work of Art" and was stamped with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then, I used lots of different Tim Holtz Distress Inks (listed below) for my project.  The stencil is called "Splatters" from Tim Holtz.  I just moved it around and used my blending tool to add all the splatters.

I added sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for lots of sparkle and shine!

Hope you are able to join us in this challenge. Check out all of the beautiful cards from the design team on the blog here!

Please leave a comment if you have any questions or thoughts on my card. I love reading your comments. As always, the products used will be listed and linked below.

Hugs,
Claire
