Fathers Day/boys challenge at PanPastel UK

Hi there, our challenge this week at PanPastel UK is 'Fathers Day' or boys. I don't make many mens' cards so it was a great opportunity to get ahead with a card for  my lovely father- in-law. You don't have to use PanPastels to enter our challenge but of course we love it when you do and if you don't have any yet don't forget our lucky winner receives a fabby PanPastel trial set from Your Creativity Store!

I've used some recycled kraft paper for the base layer of my card and then added some backing paper from Tims vintage paper stack, it was a grey tone so I've used shades of brown panpastel to give it a warmer tone and then splashed on a little brown paint and distressed it with my craft knife. I've also added some recycled corrugated card and some kraft glassine that I crumpled and sploshed with more brown paint. Next I added some burlap, twine, a filigree corner and rusty metal mesh (all from the lovely Linda at the Funkie Junkie)

The focal image is a LaBlanche stamp stamped with versamark, I then added some brown and black PanPastel that was left over on my sponge, its a really detailed stamp but the Pans pick up the detail beautifully.

To finish off I've added a concertina rosette made with more glassine, lock and key brads and  a couple of recycled buttons

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles: for the fellas
Frilly and Funkie: Kraft and twine
One Stop Crafts: Fathers Day
The Stamp Man: For a man

I hope you're having a good weekend, I've had another manic week at work and our poor fur baby Mia is still poorly so I haven't had a lot of time for crafting but hopefully today i'll manage to get a couple of hours in my craft room today.
Thanks for popping by today

Something Vintage at PanPastel UK

Hi there, I'm back again this time with my DT card for PanPastel UK, this week our theme is 'Something Vintage' . We're really excited to have the talented Ali Reeve joining us at Guest Designer this week, we're also really pleased to have the lovely Amy Shaw joining the team too!!  I decided to experiment a bit and tried using PanPastels over versamark using a LaBlanche stamp and I was really pleased with the effect. Soooo quick and easy :-)

I've used papers from the P:rima Almanac collection and overstamped with a stamp from Chocolate Baroque 'Lace Fragments' themeplate and versamark ink before applying black panpastel. I've ripped a bit out of the paper and layered it up over some white card stamped with the same stamp, I love this technique, it looks fab and have unashamedly copied it from my CB teamie Judith (pop over and check out Judith's beautiful artwork on her blog). I've added seambinding ribbon coloured with red tint panpastel, black lace, faux pearls, prima flowers and some gems for a bit of bling.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
365 cards: Distressing and tearing
Incy Wincy: Vintage
Joanna Sheen Challenge: remember when
Oldie but goodie: Anything goes (my oldie is my stamp)
Ooh La La: Make  it girly
Paper Shelter: Vintage/shabby chic
Use it Tuesday: 2 hoarded items (my black lace and prima flowers)

Don't forget our lucky winner will receive a fabby PanPastel Trial set from our generous sponsor Berni from My Creativity Store

Right, better go and do something, I've been glued to all the programmes about the Queen so far all weekend lol. Hope you're enjoying the bank holiday weekend

Turquoise and Pink at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hi there, its a bit of a sad day today as its our very last challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge (don't worry though as Cynthia has got something else up her sleeve!!). Our theme this week is 'Turquoise and Pink' in celebration of Bermuda Day!.

I've used a gorgeous digital paper from Chocolate Baroque designed by the lovely Lesley, and added a bit of turquoise PanPastel before distressing around the edges with a craft knife. I didn't want to cover up the gorgeous cockatoo so I added some crinoline fabric coloured with glimmer mists in turquoise and pink towards the side of the card. The image is a LaBlanche stamp, coloured with PanPastels. I've added some paper flowers from my stash, seam binding, velvet ribbon, lace and faux pearls. The crinoline fabric, lace and seam binding are all from The Funky Junkie boutique, if you've got a minute check out the link in my sidebar as Linda has the most scrumptious goodies :-). I'm entering this card in Linda's Sunday Share linking party over at the Frillie and Funkie Challenge blog where one lucky entrant who shares a project made with goodies from the shop can win a fabby discount voucher.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Oldie but Goodie: things with wings (my stamp and flowers)
Ooh La La: Ribbon and or twine
Ribbon Carousel: Fancy flowers

Thanks for popping by today
Hope you're enjoying some sunshine, its soooo hot here but whats the betting it rains all weekend

The Many Faces of Women at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog

Hi there, well another week has flown past and its Thursday already. I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself this week as I've had a cold and earache, but I'm soldiering on fuelled by lemsip and vitamin C and the weekend will soon be here yipeeeeee. This week at Rainbow Lady's Challenge our theme is 'The Many Faces of Women'. I've used a gorgeous stamp by La Blanche for my DT card.

I've simply inked the stamp with Memento Tuxedo black in and stamped the image on some white silk card, matted on some black card and AB gems in teh corners. The background was made using a gorgeous leaf stamp from Chocolate Baroque's Essence of Nature stampsheet. Again stamped on white card and then gently inked with black ink and matted on black card. I've just addded a little ribbon to finish off.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers: No floral embellies
Crafty Emma's: anything goes
Stampalot Challenge: Monochrome
Stamp and Create: anything goes

Angels at Rainbow Lady's Challenge

Hello again, my second card of the day and this one is my DT card for Rainbow Lady's Challenge where the theme is Angels. I did make a paper angel but the pics were even more horrible than usual so I made this card instead.

I've used stamps from LaBlanche for this card. I have to thank our very own Rainbow Lady Cynthia for introducing me to La Blanche stamps, i'm totally hooked on them and even found some I'd had years and never inked up. Anyway i soon remedied that and used the gorgeous corner stamp on silk coated card. The main image is another LaBlanche stamp, again on silk card, die cut with nesties eyelet circles and lightly inked around the edges. I've used gold mirri card for matting and layering and added some black and gold ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Bearly Mine: Christmas no red or green
Cards and More: Monochomatic
Craft Room challenge: punches/die cuts
Crafty Boots: Christmas
Crafty Emma's Challenge: Traditional Christmas
Lexi's Creations: no red or green Christmas

Love is in the air

Hi there, ooooh i'm in love! I've got some gorgeous new LaBlanche stamps and they are fab-u-lous, they are so detailed and stamp sooooo beautifully, I'm totally in love with them lol. Today I'm sharing a tag I made using 'Woman with flowers'

I've used this lovely lady for my tag for this weeks challenge at Dragon's Dream Tag it on where the theme is Romance. I started off with a kraft tag and stamped my favourite text stamp from Chocolate Baroque Paisley Elephant  themeplate in sepia versafine ink. I then stamped a large swirly border, also from Chocolate Baroque in versamark and embossed with clear EP. Next I added lots of dusty concorde distress ink . I stamped the beautiful La Blanche Lady with sepia versafine and again distressed with more dusty concorde ink. I tore the lady's face out and attached it too the tag, adding some cream lace and purple velvet ribbon. The flower is cut out from the same LaBlanche stamp, with the addition of a couple of paper flowers. To finish off i've added some faux pearls and some purple braid.

I'm entering this tag in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps: Ribbon and lace
Crafty Emma's : Roses and ribbon
Fabulous Fridays: embossing
Gingerloft: Lace, fabric or felt
One Stop Craft: ribbon and lace
Polka Doodles: swirls and pearls
Scrappy Frogs Challenge: use kraft cardstock
