ODBD Sneak Peek - His Gift!

I made this card with this week's MMSC29 sketch...I ended up making the card a tad bigger then the normal A2 size to get this wonderful new image called His Gift from Our Daily Bread Designs to work with the sketch, bit I think it worked out okay!

The image was colored with copics and then sprayed all over with vanilla breeze glimmer mist, along with the white base piece and the sentiment. The picture to the right lets you see just how much the card sparkles!! The small DP panels are from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses, and to finish off the card, I added two different sized red satin ribbons, and some dark red gems!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Also, December 1st is ODBD's official release date with another fun blog hop, so don't forget to come back then for all the fun!!

Fall Thoughts - Easel card!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! Since Thanksgiving is this week, SSCC14 is challenging us to make a fall card! Ever since I saw these wonderful Multi Step Big Leaves from Kitchen Sink Stamps, I thought they would look perfect on an Easel card! These easel cards are super simple...they were actually a technique lovers challenge over on SCS a few weeks ago...so for more deets on how to make one of these, you can head over there!

I started my card, by stamping the different leaves all of my card front. The colors for my leaves are as follows:

Red Maple Leaves: Rose Red, Ruby Red, Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Orange Oak Leaves: Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust
Yellow Leaves (you will have to excuse this desert rat, I am not sure what type of leaves these are LOL!!): Barely Banana, So Saffron, More Mustard

I then sponged/distressed the edges of my card front with a bit of scattered straw and spiced marmalade distress ink. to finish off the front, I added a bit of red ribbon and a Tim Holtz "thoughts" charm.

For in inside, I added another oak leaf layered on a labels 8 Nestabilities, with a bit more of the same red ribbon as the front!

Please head on over to see what all the other Crew members have in store for you today!

Christmas Shadowbox

I made this shadowbox for three different challenges. First, Stamping Sisters in Christ challenge #13 this week is to make a shadow box. The sketch is from MMSC28, and the colors are from CC245 - Real Red, Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip!

I created my shadow box with Our Daily Bread Design's Worship the Lord and Christmas Verses sets. I lightly sponged my stamped image and sentiment with ranger distress inks, cut it out with the labels 9 Nestabilities, and then covered the image with Ranger Crackle Accents. The background of my front panel is dry embossed with the snowflake CB folder. To finish off my card, I added some real red ribbon, and a distressed layered snowflake made with spellbinders Create a Flake 1, and covered it with Ranger Glossy Accents.

Thanks so much for visiting today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Kitchen Sink Monday - November Project of the Month (POM)

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday...and it is a special one for me...I get to do Kitchen Sink's Project of the Month (POM)!! I decided to put together a little tutorial of some battery operated tea light sleeves. I made some Halloween themed ones last month which you can see here. This time I wanted to do a Christmas themed set spelling out JOY!

I decided to use the newly released Multi Step Build a Garland set. So many fun images to use in this set!! So let's get started. First, I cut a piece of card stock 4 1/4" x 11". I then scored the piece of card stock in three 2 5/8" intervals, which leave a small strip at one end.

As you can see once I flipped the card stock over, I created my own DP by stamping the mint candy image all over the card stock, which is also something I did for SSHP07 to create a masterboard...I stamped the candies all over two full pieces of card stock, cut them in half, used three of them, and now I have one extra piece to use later on a card! :)

For the top of the sleeve, I used the loopy border punch from Martha Stewart.

Then, I cut the window out with one of the smaller labels 5 Nestabilities.

I then finished off the sleeve by adding a piece of velum a bit larger then my window and stamping the "J, O, and Y" for each of the three windows with the Playful Alphabet image.

To decorate the sleeve, I added a three dimensional gingerbread man in the corner of the "J" and "Y" sleeves. I started by stamping the image three times, cut them out and then scored them in the middle.

Once scored, I added adhesive to the back and glued them together, and added them to the corners.
To finish the decorating, I added some ribbon/bow images at the top of each sleeve, and a few half pearls!

See what I mean...very simple!! If you would like to see a slight variation on these, you can see a video tutorial on Beate's blog on tea light luminaries. Her luminaries actually have a bottom (kind of like a bag), whereas these are a bottomless sleeve. Both fun and easy, just slightly different...some day I will try one with a bottom! :)
Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!!

Also, don't forget about the on going 10% off your purchase at the Kitchen Sink Stamps Store. All you have to do is use the promotion code of CONNIE10KSS. How fun it that! Gotta love a discount!! Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a great week!

FS145 - The True Meaning Of Christmas!

Today's featured stamper over on SCS is TreasureOiler - Dawn!! LOVE her clean look, she is such a talented stamper indeed!! I decided to CASE this card. Things I changed: Different sentiment/verse; Different colors; Different Nestabilities; Used a snowflake instead of a flower.

I thought this card would be a perfect way to display one of the wonderful verses in Our Daily Bread Designs Christmas Verses set. It also gave me an opportunity to show off some of this wonderful SEI Dust of Snow Glitter DP. LOVE this paper so pretty and sparkly!! The sentiment was heat embossed with white EP, and cut out with a labels 8 Nestabilities. To finish off the card, I added a snowflake medallion made with spellbinder's Create a Flake 1 die.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful Sunday! Be sure to come back tomorrow for Kitchen Sink Monday! I will have a Project of the Month Tutorial for you!!!

The base DP is SEI Rosice Foil DP, and I layered with a bit of copper prims metallic card stock.

FLLCNOV & SC254 - Copper Thank You!

I made this card for both this week's SC254 on SCS and this month's FLLCNOV - where we were to be inspired by the word of My Favorite Things from the Sound of Music. I was inspired by two different lines...Bright Copper Kettles and Cream Colored Ponies.

I heat embossed the fall wreath image from the Seasonal Wreath Set from Flourishes, and the sentiment which is from the Thank You set with copper embossing powder. The DP is from Deja View Timeless collection, and the back panel is dry embossed with a cuttlebug folder. To finish off the card, I added an antique copper finishing touches ribbon slide with some cream colored ribbon.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!!

More Rocks by the Bay

I have another card for you today from this month's Innovative Stamp Creations release using the Rocks by the Bay image. For this card, I colored the image with chalks. I then added Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the waves...unfotuntaly you can not tell from the picture, but believe me...this is a very sparkly card!!

For the background, I used from DP from the Daja View Timelss collection. I then stamped the image again on a separate piece of paper, colored it, and added some Tim Holtz Film Strip on top of the image. I then trimmed the image and added the strips to the back of my card. The card was finished off with some black satin ribbon, a photo turn mount and some half back black pearls.

Innovative Stamp Creations November Release!!

***If you are here for Kitchen Sink Monday...Please see the post below this one. Thanks!!***

Yep, today is the day! Innovative Stamp Creations is releasing three new images today along with a coordinating background image!! If you like ocean scenes, you are gonna LOVE these images!! Take a look!!

Background Series: Netting

For my first card today, I have used the On the Shore sheet. I am on a sepia technique kick!! I thought this technique I did last week would be perfect for this image too!! I stamped the image twice to create a panoramic card in walnut stain distress ink. I then highlighted the image a bit with white ink, chalked the image lightly, and then sponged the edges.

I stamped the Netting background lightly in craft white in the background, and added a bit of some old make DP from Karen Foster. To finish off the card, I added some large brads, and a spiral clip with some ribbon to hold the sentiment. Both the DP and the sticker sentiment are part of ISC November Travel & Escape Kit! This kit is full of some fun embellishments and DP...you will want to check it out for sure!!

For my second card, I water colored the By the Bay image with re-inkers. Here again, I used some more Karen Foster DP, and another sticker for the sentiment, which is available in the Travel and Escape Kit. I then finished the card off with a bit of caramel ribbon, and ! clipped the sentiment on with a tiny library clip.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Be sure to come back all week, I will be sharing more cards from this release!! Also be sure to visit the other Creative Architechs to see what they have in store for you!!

Kitchen Sink Monday - O Christmas Tree

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! Today I decided to create Christmas cards that can easily be reproduced for the many friends and family members on your Christmas Card list!

I stamped the pine trees with the new Multi Step Pine Trees four times with mellow moss, old olive twice and always artichoke. I then cut each of the trees out with my oval creative memories oval cutter.

Now instead of making each of the cards exactly the same, I decided to find ways to do each a bit different. First, for the background of each of the cards, ran the white panels through different embossing folders. Then I left two of the tress alone, and added some olive satin ribbon across the top. I did tie each of the bow slightly different...using double tailored bows on each but I give one tails and the other a large half pearl adorning the center.

For the last two cards, I decided to decorate them up a bit! I used the two tiny ornament images from the Multi Step Ornament and Stars on one of the trees, and the tiny Christmas light image from the Multi Step Christmas Lights set on the other. I stamped each of the images in real red, and then added a bit of red Stickles to give them some shine! I then topped each tree with the smallest star from the Multi Step Ornament and Stars set. As with the first two cards, I added some red satin ribbon with two slightly different double tailored bows.

Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!!

ISC Sneak Peek - Rocks on Shore

Yep! ISC is releasing four new images TOMORROW!! They are all so very pretty, and if you love ocean scenes you are gonna love ALL of them!!

For today's card, I have chosen to use the rocks on shore image. I stamped the image in Walnut Stain Distress ink on some kraft paper. I then chalked the water lightly with a bit of blue. I then cut the image panel out with a label 4 Nestabilities.

For the background I used the new netting background image, along with some Karen Foster Travel DP. I then sponged all the edges with a bit more walnut stain distress ink.

To finish off the card, I added a strip of DP over the image, some river rock ribbon and a fun travel brad!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Be sure to come back tomorrow for another sneak peek of ISC's release, and of course...Kitchen Sink Monday!!

Now onto my cards!! I have created two cards for you today using this wonderful sketch! The first is with a new set...Multi Step Gift! Let me tell you...this is just one of the most fun images to stamp! I love how the package itself and the ribbon are two different stamps, yet it creates on wonderful image!!! Like magic! LOL!! :)

I stamped my package with mellow moss, old olive (twice) and always artichoke; the ribbon was stamped with rose red, ruby red and real red. I then finished off the card with some red ribbon to mimic the package ribbon on the image, and the sentiments...the inside the card reads..."just for you".

I decided to make a second card...it is the beginning of November, and still fall after all, so I wanted to create a fall card too! I flipped the sketch this time, and use the Multi Step Sunflower set...love this watering can and beautiful sunflowers in this set!! I started by stamping the sunflower, then I masked the flower and stamped the watering can...finally I masked the watering can and stamped the stem and leaves for the flower.

The flower is stamped with barely banana, so saffron, more mustard, close to cocoa and chocolate chip. The watering can is stamped with creamy caramel (twice), close to cocoa and chocolate chip. Finally, the leaves/stem were stamped with mellow moss, old olive and always artichoke.

I finished off the card, by adding some so saffron grosgrain ribbon, three jumbo antique brass brads and three gold colored dew drops.

Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!! By the way, if you had not heard, two wonderful DT members have decided to move on...Dee and Lori, your inspiration will be missed each Monday!! Hugs!!!

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs November Release Blog Hop! If you came here from Grace's Blog, you are in the right place! If you happened on my blog but did not start at the ODBD Blog, you really should go there and start from there, so you can collect all the secret words words hidden along the hop! You will need to collect these words along with the name of each Designer. Then you will return to the ODBD Blog and leave a comment that you have visited all the blogs. You will then be given a special email address where you need to email the collected words and the DT member connected to each word! That's all you have to do for the chance to win the ENTIRE NEW RELEASE this month! That's three GREAT new sets that will help you with all your card making needs just in time for Christmas!!!

For my card for today, I have used the newly released Blessed Christmas Set! Such a beautiful poinsettia, and LOVE the flourished vine and leaves!! I decided to create an elegant all white holiday card. I used the paper tole technique with the poinsettia by heat embossed the flower four times, cut the different layers and then popped them up with dimensionals!

I ran the base panel through my cuttlebug, and cut the image panel out with the label 5 Nestabilities. I then added some shimmer by spraying all the layers on the card with some glacier glimmer mist. I then added some mini pearls in the center of my poinsettia and two mini pearl flourishes all from Zva Creative...LOVE these pearls!!! I finished off then finished off the card with some white satin ribbon.

I also decided to create an ornament today. This ornament actually matches a card that I made earlier this week, which can be seen here. To create the background, I took a piece of double sided SEI Peppermint Bark DP cut 10 - 5 1/2" by 3/4" strips of paper. I then stacked them up, and punched a hole on either end of the stack, and attached a brad. Next, I separated the pieces of paper to create the half circle background.

For the center of my ornament, I colored the poinsettia image with copics and added some glitter to the center with some scattered straw distress stickles. I then layered the image on a spellbinders small kaleidescope pendent and medium poinsettia shapability. To finish off the ornament I dangled some silver cord off the bottom of the ornament and added a 3D scalloped ball and some pearl and crystal beads.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects today. Now from here you need to go visit Lorelie. However, before you go... my secret word is "to". Be sure you are keeping a list of all the DT Names so you can write their secret word next to them and email that to the address given on the ODBD Blog at the end of the hunt!
