Longin' 4U!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday! I am excited to show you a card today using one of the newly released sets last week...Texas Longhorn! The sketch for this card is from Card Patters #86.

I stamped the image on vanilla paper as follows: Step 3 - Close to Coca, Step 2: Creamy Caramel, Step 4 Chocolate Chip (I did not stamp step 1). I then cut image out and popped it up on a light grey panel dry embossed with a star cuttlebug folder and sponged with Dusty Durango. The DP is from Basic Grey's Pyrus package, and to finish off the card I added a bit of rope.

Please head on over to see what my fellow crew members have created today!

WT219 & MMSC2 - In Our Prayers

I made this card for two challenges today. WT219 - where we were to stamp the same image a least twice. I did that by doing the faux emboss technique. Also, this wonderful sketch is from Midnight Madness - MMSC2.

To create the faux embossed look, I stamped the cross image in craft white on a piece of close to cocoa card stock. I let it dry and then stamped the image again just slightly up and to the left in chocolate chip, which gives it the embossed look. I then sponged the edges of both the image and the sentiment with a bit of close to cocoa ink. I adorned the left side of the image with a bit of DSP punched with SU's eyelet border punch.

This fabulous sketch gave me a chance to display some pretty DSP. The baja breeze piece is from SU's Parisian Breeze, and the chocolate chip piece is from SU's Bella Rose package. The ribbon I used is a thin chocolate twill tape, also from SU! I then finished off the card, by adding three blue dew drops to the side of the image.

I hope you have a wonderful day...thanks for visiting!!

Faux Embossing!

Good Monday morning!! I got up bright and early this morning so I could do today's technique challenge on SCS. Today's challenge was faux embossing...so fun and easy. Basically you stamp your image in craft white (or vanilla). Let is air dry (or heat it to dry faster). Then stamp your image on your stamp-a-ma-jig, and place it over you craft image just to the left or right depending on where you want your shadow. Then stamp your image over the craft image with classic ink, and this is what you get! Like I said, fun and easy! I will definitely be doing this again!!

Okay I just realized that when I scanned my card in today there was a speck on my scanner, so I have a yucky black speck on my white ribbon...ugh!! DH has the camera today, I will be so glad when I can use that again!! (okay, I scanned the card again, so it is now de-bugged, LOL!!)

Card details:
Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Fancy Flexible Phrases
Paper: Night of Navy, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Urban Garden DSP
Accessories: HPH, Small Oval Punch, Ribbon
