ODBD Sneak Peek - Noah's Ark!!

Okay so how adorable is this Noah's Ark image!! It is being released from Our Daily Bread Designs January 1st!! For my card today, I decided to try my hand at a gel card! You can find a great tutorial on this technique over on SCS!! You can't really tell that it is a gel card in this picture, but trust me...it is all squishy!! :)

I colored the image with copics, and then placed it behind the gel filled zip lock bag. The fun punched/layered ribbon border was created with Martha Stewart's botanical scallop punch and some so saffron twill ribbon from SU! I also punched two of the corners with the same border punch. To finish off the card, I added the sentiment layered with a labels 4 nestabilties and some dew drops in the opposite corner!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Don't forget to come back on January 1st for the ODBD blog hop!! It is sure to be fun with some great prizes too!!

Lily of the Valley - Happy Birthday!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, I sure did!! For my card today, I have created a birthday card using the lily of the valley image from the Year of Thanks 2 set.

I decided to use the sketch from this week's Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C17). The flower was stamped with kiwi kiss, old olive and almost artichoke. I then sponged the edges a bit with worn lipstick distress ink. The pink base layer was cuttlebugged, and to finish off the card, I added some ribbon under the sentiment and a clip with some ribbon on the image panel.

I also decided to "do up" the inside of the card. I took the sketch and flopped it, with the DP on the right side instead of the left (using the left over piece that I had when I cut the rectangle in half diagonally for the original sketch).

Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!!

Also, today is the last day for the after christmas sell over at Kitchen Sink! Receive 20% off your purchase at the Kitchen Sink Stamps Store. All you have to do is use the promotion code of CONNIE20KSS. After tomorrow you will still be able to get a 10% discount by using my on going code of CONNIE10KSS!!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a great week!!

Reindeer Noses!!

Okay so how cute is this concept! I sooo did NOT come up with this one myself, I saw it on Beth M.'s Blog, and just had to make my own for my DD and DS's classmates this year. Yep, I made 30 of these! They are just super simple though!! Just 8 whopper candies (one for each of Santa's reindeer's), and I used one red gum ball for Rudolph's nose!! Oh and since this is a treat package...it qualifies for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C16)!

For my topper, my base is some real red card stock dry embossed with the swiss dots cuttlebug folder. The bashful blue layer was cut out using a labels 8 Nestabilities, and then dry embossed with the divine swirls embossing folder. The reindeer image is from Kitchen Sink Stamp's Year of Thanks 2 set. He is stamped in chocolate chip ink and then I added a red nose on him with some red Stickles. Finally I added the computer generated sentiment behind the reindeer as if he were pulling the banner across the sky!

My kids and their classmates just LOVED these! They were the hit of the parties! :)

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!!

Season's Greetings!

What!! Only 4 more day's until Christmas!! Where has the time gone! Well, for today's Kitchen Sink Monday card, I decided to create one last Christmas card. These ornaments from the Multi Step Ornaments and Stars set are just so fun and easy to stamp, I just love the detail this five layer stamp gives!

The blue ornaments were stamped with bashful blue, brocade blue, ballet blue, and night of navy. The red ornament was stamped with regal rose, rose red, ruby red and real red. The fun DP is from SEI, and to finish off the card, I added some crystal gems underneath the sentiment (which is from the 3 step Holly and Mistletoe set).

Now on to the good stuff...Kitchen Sink a huge after Christmas sale!!!! That's right! From December 26th through December 28th, you can receive 20% off your entire purchase at the Kitchen Sink Stamps Store! All you have to do is use code CONNIE20KSS.

Snowflake Luminaries!

Okay so I can't seem to get away from these wonderful snowflakes!! I made these silver and blue snowflake luminaries for my kid's teachers for Christmas this year. There is a great tutorial over on SCS...you can check it out here.

For my luminaries, I dry embossed the base with a divine swirls cuttlebug fold. The window and window frame was cut out using my Labels 4 Nestabilities. I heat embossed this wonderful snowflake image from the Peace and Joy set from Our Daily Bread Designs on some velum to cover the cut out window. Next I used my Martha Stewart Snowflake border punch for the top strip of silver snowflakes. The snowflake in the bottom corner is also a spellbinders die - create a flake 1, with the same snowflake image stamped on it. To finish off the luminaries, I added some half back pearls in each of the corners of the silver frame!

Thanks so much for visiting today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Acetate Snowflake Card

When I first saw the snowflakes in the Peace and Joy set from Our Daily Bread Designs, I immediately thought of doing an Acetate card!

The white snowflakes are stamped all over the acetate with opaque white stazon ink. I then stamped the sentiment which is from the His Gift set in black on whisper white paper. The snowflake border was punched with Martha Stewart's snowflake border and corner punch.

Next, I used a bit of black satin ribbon across the top of the card, tied a bow, and then added a snowflake charm from Making Memories. To finish the card off, I added some tiny clear rhinestones from Zva Creative in the center of each punched snowflake along the border.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!!

Kitchen Sink Monday - Christmas Fun!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! I have a card for you today created with the newly released Year of Thanks II set!! I just LOVE this reindeer image, and thought it would make a fun Christmas card along with the snow and flourishes image!

I stamped the images and sponged the edges with ruby red ink. The DP from this card is from BasicGrey's Eskimo kisses, and is also sponged with ruby red ink. To finish off the card, I added some red satin ribbon to mimic a wrapped package, and some teal rhinestones!

Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!!

Flower Soft Snow Globe!!

I just LOVE these display globes from Flower soft!! They make the perfect snow globes!! When I saw them, I just knew I HAD to create a card with the Worship the Lord image from Our Daily Bread Designs!

I colored potions of the image with some copic markers, and then added some glacier white flower soft to the image. I then used a display globe and oval aperture card to create the snow globe. The DP is from an Anna Griffin Christmas scrapbook paper pad, and to finish off the card, I added the sentiment heat embossed with silver EP, and some white satin ribbon!

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a great weekend!!

MMSC31, FTTC45 & FLLCDEC - Snowy Gate fold

I made this card for three challenges, Midnight Madness Sketch challenge (MMSC31), and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday (FTTC45) - to make a gate fold. This week's MMSC lends itself so nicely to a gate fold card!! Finally this card is for FLLCDEC - where we were to be inspired by our favorite flower...well my favorite flower is a Tulip, and they come in pretty much any color you can think of, but my absolute favorite are red and blue ones!

I colored my Lamp Post from the new Lamp Post Greetings released last month from Flourishes with copics, sponged the background "sky" and covered portions of the image with glacier white flower soft for snow! To finish off the card, I added some red rhinestones and red satin ribbon.

Thank you so much for visiting today! Have a wonderful day!

Holiday Greetings Gift Card Holder

This week's challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C14) is to make a gift card....such a perfect challenge for this time of year...I need lots of them since all my niece and nephews are at that age where it is preferred by them to get a gift card so they can get what they want...I love it because it make shopping for them WAAAY more easy. Since the shopping is so easy, I figured they at least deserve a hand made gift card holder!!

The sketch for this card is from this week's Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO16). What a fun little sketch, and I thought it would work on my little 4" x 4" gift card holder! Love this Eskimo Kisses paper from Basic Grey...soooo very fun!!! The reindeer image is from the Year of Thanks II set from Kitchen Sink Stamps....love this little image! The background was dry embossed with a cuttlebug folder. As you can see here, I kept the inside of the card holder pretty simple...I thought the reverse side of the dry embossing was enough of an embellishment!

Thanks so much for visiting today! I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Burgundy and Silver Poinsettia

This card was made for this week's Saturday Spotlight Hidden Potential challenge (SSHP10), which is to create a card using flower(s) with Christmas in mind. Well for me when I think Christmas and flowers I think of poinsettias!

The image is from the set His Gift from Our Daily Bread Designs. I heat embossed the image on bravo burgundy paper with some silver embossing powder. The top and the bottom of the card were dry embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder border. To finish off the card, I added a couple of silver flourishes from a sizzix die, some crystal brads, and the sentiment.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a great day!

KSCC20 - Wrap it, Bag it, or Tag it!!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! Since it is the first Monday of the month, that means it is time of another Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge (KSCC20)!! This month it is being hosted by non other then the wonderful Owner...Maria!! Her challenge to us today is to make something that fits into the category of Wrap it, Bag it, or Tag it! What a great challenge...just in time for the Holidays!

For my project today, I decided to do two of the three things suggested...I wrapped it and tagged it. I created the wrapping paper with some brown/kraft colored paper and stamped the largest of the pine trees from the Multi Step Pine Trees all over the paper.

Then for the tag, I used the same kraft paper, stamped the smalled pine tree and then stamped the "to" and "from", which is from the Whole Family set. To finish off the package I added some red satin ribbon and the double tailored bow!
Now on to some really fun news! Kitchen Sink has released a new set TODAY!! The A Year of Thanks II set is just so fun! You get one of each of the Thank you stamps sent with orders throughout the past year along with the Multi Step Lilies image, all in a great round tin!! Sooo fun. You MUST go check it out!!

Please head on over to see all the other creation the Crew members have created week for you!!

Also, don't forget about the on going 10% off your purchase at the Kitchen Sink Stamps Store. All you have to do is use the promotion code of CONNIE10KSS.

Limited Supplies - Winter Wonderland!

Hello!! I made this card for this week's LSC hosted by my good friend, Holly (Toy)! Her challenge was to create a White Christmas card. Here were the limitations: 1 - only white card stock 2 - only white embellishments 3 - no patterned paper (unless it is all white) 4 - you may use any color of ink you wish, but only ONE color 5 - no coloring 6 - limit layers and embellies (use your best judgement...LOL!)

Okay so with all those limitations, this is the card I came up with...as you can see I only used whisper white card stock, encore gold ink, white satin ribbon, a large white pearl, and white pearl flourishes from ziva creative. The wonderful snowflake image is a newly released set from Our Daily Bread Designs called Peace and Joy. They were stamped, cut out and layered. Since we were only allowed to use white card stock, I sponged the edges to give the illusion of a gold layer.

Thank you so much for visiting today, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

ODBD Release day Blog Hop!!

WOW!!! Can you believe it is December 1st!!! Only 24 more days 'til Christmas...are you ready??? I sure am not! LOL!! Since it is the first of the month, that means one thing...an Our Daily Bread Designs new release and blog hop!!

If you arrived from the ODBD BLOG, then you are in the right place...if you just happened on my blog but did not start at the ODBD Blog, you really should go there and start from beginning, so you can collect all the secret words words hidden along the hop! You will need to collect the words along with the name of each Designer. Then return to the ODBD Blog and leave a comment that you have visited and commented on all the blogs. You will then be given a special email address where you need to email the collected words and the DT member connected to each word! That's all you have to do for the chance to be one of TWO lucky winners who will have their choice of one free set! Winners will be chosen by Random from the correct emails received by Dec.2, 8PM EST.

Now on to my cards for you today:

First up, I have used the Peace and Joy set...LOVE the snowflake images in this set...just sooo beautiful, and imagine how excited I was to realize that the smaller image fits wonderfully in one of the dies in Spellbinder's Create a Flake 1 set!! When I first saw this set I immediately thought of doing a suspension card with this snowflake...so very fun!! I embossed the snowflake (and the sentiment with a mixture of white embossing powder and dazzling diamonds. I then added some rhinestones to the snowflakes to add a bit more bling! I then paired this snowflake with some SEI Winter Glitter Land DP. To finish off the card, I added some white satin ribbon.

My second card uses the His Gift set. WOW...talk about an amazing poinsettia image! For this card I decided to try one of my favorite techniques...Faux Bleaching. I heat embossed the image on glossy card stock with clear EP. I then sprayed some Tim Holtz Ranger Ink Red Pepper and Bottle color wash over the image (if you do not have color washes, this technique also works with alcohol inks). Once dry, I placed my image in between two pieces of copy paper, and iron the image with my craft iron. The heat melts the clear EP and give the image a bleached look!

To finish off this card, I added some red satin ribbon, Tim Holtz metal corners, the sentiment (which is from the Peace and Joy set), and dry embossed the green background with the Holly Ribbons cuttlebug embossing folder.

I hope you have enjoyed my cards today. Now from here you need to go visit Sandee's blog! However, before you go... my secret word is "All". Be sure you are keeping a list of all the DT Names so you can write their secret word next to them and email that to the address given on the ODBD Blog at the end of the hunt! You have until 8 PM EST on Wed. Nov. 2nd to email the secret word each designer had! Remember...TWO LUCKY WINNERS will receive their choice of one FREE set!

I hope you have a wonderful day and a blessed December!!
