And The Winner Is...

Well today I will announce the 2 winners of the September Give-Away. Thanks to everyone for joining and sharing. Without further ado, the winner of the Fat Quarters and the buttons is... Ayda from Cafenohut Blog (lovely blog!!!). The winner of the Crochet Flower Coaster Pattern is... Anna Robinson. Congratulations to you both!

So, these are a few of the lovely dahlia's again... The pink one is beautiful isn't it? And the yellow-pink one is from my mom's garden. I hope to get some of them next year...

Don't know if you remember, but some time ago I showed you some pictures of an unfinished project and asked you if you knew what it would be. One of you guessed correctly. It turned into a lampshade. I finally finished it after having it laying around for 2 months...

I like it. I made it with different yarn than I'm used to. It's all Cotton 8, from different brands though. IT's soft and lovely, but in my opinion splits easier than mercerized cotton.

I also did some crafting this weekend, with my little one. She collected some lavender and we made little scented hearts. I used the idea from the lovely book All Sewn Up, from Chloe Owens. Very inspiring book and makes you happy just to look in it! I love the scented bags and think they will make a perfect holiday gift for the ladies... What do you think? Did any of you get started on the holiday presents yet??

And this is what I'm working on now. Not sure yet what it'll turn into. Something for me! A bag maybe, or a cushion?? Any ideas??

Have a lovely day!

Mier Papier And The September Give-Aways

I already told you I was going to introduce you to a wonderful crafter I met at the Almhult Market in Sweden. This is Miranda from Mier Papier! Oh how I love her work.

She makes the prettiest little paper mache figures. And as you can see, we like the same colors... I couldn't resist and bought one of her lovely pieces, a music box tree with a pretty bird on one of the branches.

Here it is still standing on her market stand, but that didn't last long. As you can see in the next picture, it's now showing in my colorful home. It makes me happy every time I see it! And lucky me; she lives close to me and is going to teach me her methods!! I can't wait!

But also, as promised, here are the  September Give-Away. It isn't really crochet related, although it would be perfect to use as a backing for my Crochet Cushion Pattern.

It's 4 fat quarters of this pretty fabric (there will be some more available in the Color 'n Cream Shop) and some colorful rainbow buttons in 3 different sizes.

All you have to do is leave a comment below and make sure it's possible for me to reach you. If you leave your email address do it like this: jenn at colorncream dot com, so you won't be spammed out of your mind later.

The winner will be announced on monday the 22nd. Have a pleasant day!

And The Winner Is...

Thanks everyone for the very nice compliments and participation in my july Give-Away. It's so nice to see my patterns being enthusiastically received and a big motivation for me. Now without further ado: And the winner of the July Give-Away Winner is... Patty C!

As you know I only interrupt my holiday for this announcement. I will go on enjoying my spare time (and updating everything since I got quite far behind on the Color 'n Cream Shop and all my promised tutorials...). This is going to be my next tutorial. It's almost finished! I think it's my best Crochet Coaster Pattern yet!

Have a lovely summer!

And The Winner Is...

And the winner of the June Give Away is: Natasha Rizhik! Congratulations! I hope your little one will enjoy the garland.
I wanted to say I'm sorry about telling you guys to leave your email in the comment. Apparently this is not a good idea, because of spam. I really wasn't aware of that, so I offer my sincere apologies. It is best to write your email address out like this: colorandcream1 at gmail dot com, or put in spaces between letters, so it's still possible to figure out for a human being, but not for a computer.

I'm trying to get a bit more organized right now. Since my business is growing, it's becoming more and more important to manage my time smartly. That's why I have a big new pin board and all new sticky notes (from HEMA). Aren't they pretty? This makes planning much more fun! I especially like the ones in the left lower corner. And the arrows too...

This is part of my pin board. I decided to just use a soft board, from ceiling to floor, since that takes up less space of my white wall. I really LOVE it a lot. Oh, and soft board is crazy cheap. It only cost me about 8 euro's...

So that's what I'll be doing the next few days. And working on my custom order blanket (and making a tutorial on that during the process...). Oh yes, and I've almost finished the next Flower Square Tutorial! It''ll be in the Color 'n Cream Shop this week!

Have an anything but blue monday!!

And The Winner Is...

I never had as many responds to a Give Away as this month. It's a great confidence boost, for me and my choice of colors. I picked a winner and that winner is.... Rie from Tasmania!! Congratulations Rie!

I've finished 2 cushion covers and am working hard on a tutorial on how to make a crochet cushion like mine and on the new crochet pattern flower square. I will try to finish them both this month, but it might be June... My man is on a kite surf trip and my youngest is a little under the weather, so my time is kind of scarce right now.

Been making coasters for the Amsterdam Maker Festival like crazy. Another 10 days to go...

I will keep you all posted. Excuse me for the short post...

Have a summery day!!

PS. The 10 yarn combo's will be available this week. I will post it on Facebook

May Give Away!!

I have a crazy Give Away for you this month. A Give Away of which I'm SURE lots of you will like to win... You can win these 4 balls of yarn. I know many of you cannot find the colors I use in the countries you live in, and because I'm not sure yet if I'm willing to start selling it, here's your chance of getting some.

The cushion panel of my new square is done. Now I need to make a back strip and turn it into a cushion cover. I will be making a tutorial on how to make a cushion cover like mine this month and it will be available in my Etsy shop soon.

And on the right you can see the other cushions that's not finished yet. I will be doing all that next week. First I have to make a tutorial on how to make my flower coaster into a square, as some of you requested. That's my first priority now. I will make it tomorrow and it will be available at the start of next week.

So, enough to do to keep me busy. The Etsy school on SEO is much fun and very helpful. I love to work with a partner to get more insight and to learn from each other.  Check out the Team I joined: Ka-ching Collectief.

Oh, to join the Give Away, leave a comment below and be sure to leave your email with it. If you don't, I'll not take your entry seriously and you won't compete.

Have a colorful thursday!!

PS. Totally forgot... The Give Away winner will be announced on monday the 19th of may

And The Winner Is...

First of all, thanks for all the big compliments on the Flower Coaster Pattern. It's very uplifting to read all those nice comments and to see my pattern being so well received. Makes it all worth it! Because I had so many comments on this give-away and because I was one give-away short in february, I decided to give away two Flower Coaster Patterns today. The funny thing is, both my girls picked a name from a bowl and both of them picked a Kelly. So it's KELLY and KELLY PATRICK. Congratulations!! I will email you guys the PDF Pattern and hope you enjoy it.

For the ones that entered but didn't win; you can buy the Flower Coaster Pattern here. And remember, this is my first PDF tutorial, so if you have suggestions or complaints, please let me know.

I've been busy working on some new coasters. This pattern will probably be available in april. How do you like it? It's nice and firm and I love all the flower petals.

Got real far on the squares from this weekend. Actually the crochet is done, just need to sew some fabric on to make it a cushion cover. I really like the results. I'll show you soon (probably wednesday).

I had a lovely weekend, and it didn't rain as much as 'they' predicted. It was quite sunny actually. And I had a great time with my girls and without my man for a change. I had fun, but am glad it was only for the weekend. It does always feel a bit incomplete...

Well, I'll keep you posted on the progress. Have a passionate day!

Finally!! And A Give-Away

So, I know I kept you waiting for quite a while... But it's finally here! The Flower Coaster Tutorial. And remember it's my first, so if there are any suggestions on how to make it better, please email me.

It's been lots of work, but especially because it was my first time to make a tutorial in Adobe Illustrator. I had to figure out lots of stuff, and make lots and lots of pictures. O, yeah, and I made a chart pattern in Crochet Charts. That's great software if you want to start making your own charts. And it can be used on an Apple, so that's important!

Not only is the Flower Coaster Tutorial for sale in my Etsy shop, I will also give one away for free. So if you want to join in this Give-Away, leave a comment below and make sure it is possible for me to contact you. I will announce the winner on monday the 24th of March.

Have a hooky day!

Doily Love

I've never finished one before. I did start one or two some time ago, but then I didn't experience crocheting doilies as fun. Now I do!! And how!

It's very nice to see something growing by just going along. I also love that there are only a few loose ends to finish of, don't you? Although I must admit, doilies do take lots of time. Especially the yellow was quite time consuming. I really love the result though! Don't you?

And although vintage doilies often feel a little bit dusty to me, I love that when you use a bright modern color, all the dust disappears and everything white is instantly pretty. I have 2 white tables and, in stead of boring, they look so sunny now.

I used this pattern for the yellow ( I did make it a little smaller) and used this doily as an example for the pink one. The multicolored one I designed myself and is this months GIVE-AWAY!

If you'd like to win the give-away, just leave a comment below and make sure it's possible for me to contact you. I will announce the winner tuesday the 21st.

Before I leave you, I couldn't resist to show you a pic of what's going to be in my shop... Coasters!!! Among some other things. This pic makes me very HAPPY!

I'm taking my little one on a trip this week, so when I don't respond to your comment, you know why. Hope you all have a very colorful monday!
