Hello Card

Hero Arts challenge this month is "Keeping in Touch and Going back to School".  I made this card on Thursday evening to enter before the first deadline of the month.  Still plenty of time to enter - check out the details here.

It has been a while since I have entered a Hero Arts challenge - don't know where the time goes!  I have missed it and am going to try to get back in the groove and start entering again.  The gals in the HA Flickr Group produce amazing work on a daily basis.  Check it out here.
Supplies: Hero Arts CG105 Silhouette Flower and CL184 Thoughtful messages,
versamark ink and clear embossing powder, Papermania pearls coloured with copics,
XCut scallop border punch and dark chocolate cardstock, ribbon & ink and pop dots.

I did three or four layers of embossing powder on this card to give it an "enamelled look" and I really enjoyed making this card and look forward to getting it into the mail to "keep in touch" with a friend.

Thanks so much for peeking and I hope you have a great weekend.

Mami Doodles - new release/challenge and FIRST EVER blog hop!

Welcome to the FIRST EVER Mami Doodles Blog Hop.   In order to win the digital stamp that I used please make sure you leave a comment to be entered into the draw - (winners will be drawn on Tuesday evening and posted on Wednesday).

Elisa (Mami Doodles) has outdone herself again and created some new wonderful digis released yesterday - check them out here.  As a member of her DT, I got to play with some of them and had lots of fun colouring and creating.  I paired this "bunch" with the Spellbinders blossom die cut and added an wonderfully appropriate SRM Sticker.  I just adore these stickers - be sure to check out the SRM Blog here for wonderful inspiration.

Elisa's challenge on Mami Doodles is "Shaped Cards" - so get your thinking hat on and create a non standard card and post it here with a chance to win some of Mami Doodles wonderful digis.

The next stop on the hop is Elisa B - just click here and just in case here's the hop order

Sketch Saturday and Tales From Pollycraft Challenge

Made this card using this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday.  Check it out here.  I made the card to also enter Paula's challenge - Flash those freebies! over on Tales from Pollycraft.  Paula wants us all to make a card using one of her freebies, post it and she will email us a new freebie... who doesn't LOVE freebies?

I used "Flo" who was a freebie on Tales from Pollycraft a few weeks ago.  Paired her with Cosmo Cricket paper, cardstock I ran through a CB embossing folder, I coloured Flo with copics and added lots of tiny pearls.  Am also entering it into the Pollycraft challenge this week - "Bold and Bright!".

Thanks so much for peeking and I hope you find time to "flash those freebies too!".  Hope you are having a great weekend.

Tiffany Doodles First Challenge

Welcome to the FIRST EVER Tiffany Doodles Challenge.
Tiffany is going to run a challenge every month on the 7th and the prizes are ....
1st Place - 7 digis
2nd Place - 5 digis
3rd Place - 3 digis
Random Winner - 3 digis

Full details are available here - so be sure to check it out.
This month's challenge is based on a sketch by the super talented Jenyfur of Caardvarks and torn-paper.
And this is what I came up with....
Supplies: Tiffany Doodles birdhouse image, computer generated sentiment, MME spring papers, grey ribbon,
HA flower and Papermania pearls.

I did move the sentiment... but hopefully that's okay!!!  Very difficult to take the photo because the strong sunlight was washing all my colours out!  The ribbon is actually pale grey and not pale blue!!!

Thanks so much for peeking and I hope you get a chance to play along with Tiffany Doodles first ever Challenge.  It will run for the month (ends 30 June) with winners announced on the 1st July.  Hope you have a great day and if you are in Ireland (hopefully the rain will stop on this Bank Holiday Monday!).

Happy Anniversary

My Mom wanted an Anniversary card for my youngest brother and his wife - so I made this for her.  I had the image coloured before she requested the card and I just thought it was perfect ... It is an image from Precious Moments.  I coloured it with copics and used my Spellbinders Labels Eight to cut and emboss the cardstock.  Hero Arts flowers, Papermania pearls and a heart that I dry embossed to match the heart lollipops.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Anniversary to my little Brother and SIL.

Caardvarks Challenge - use stickers!

Another one I made for the Caardvarks Challenge.  It is sponsored by SRM Stickers this month and the challenge is to incorporate stickers into your new project/card.  Unfortunately I don't have any SRM Stickers - they are sensational - check out their blog here.

So I purchased some butterfly stickers in a store a number of months ago in pink and yellows (they were in a clearance basket!).  I think they were meant for a little girls bedroom as they are in various sizes.

I stuck them on acetate and cut around them, stuck them to the card and added Papermania pearls to cover the glue dot, the sheer white ribbon is from papermania.  The letter stamps are from Heidi Swapp - stamped in Whispers mossy stone ink!.   This is another Mother's Day card (Mother's Day is March 14th here in Ireland).

I used my Martha Stewart border punch on the edge of the patterned paper.  I'm not sure who made the paper as it was received from a friend.

Paula over on Tales from Pollycraft is launching a new digital kit on the 1st of March.  She is giving away the set to 5 lucky people who post about it on their blog and leave her a comment.  She does the most AMAZING images and this set - Sweet Dreams Sprintime Retro is no exception.  Be sure to check it out here.  The chance to win finishes on Feb 28th at 11... so quick... check it out.

Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you have a great Friday.

Hero Arts Friendship & Valentine's Challenge

Made this card for this month's Hero Arts Friendship and Valentine's Theme Challenge - further information is available here. I made the butterflies a while ago and hadn't used them, you can read about them here. I did some masking and stamping with the sentiment as it is a really old Hero Arts stamp with flowers around it.

Supplies Hero Arts sentiment H704, Hero Arts digital flutterbies and winged friends kits,
Anita's large card blank and envelope, Papermania pp and textured cardstock,
Martha Stewart pansy border punch, Papermania pearls,
ranger industry stickles, pop dots, stazon ink and copics.

I used my new Martha Stewart Pansy punch for the border on textured Papermania cardstock in grey.

Imagine my delight this morning when I logged on and found two, yes 2! messages telling me that I had won candy over on the Bugaboo Blog Hop last weekend...woohoo!!!  I just adore the Bugaboo images and Jodie Mackrell does freebies on a Friday and her next challenge is 30th January - so be sure to check it out here.  Thanks to Melissa and Rae Anne for the blog candy.. still doing the happy dance!
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you all have a great Tuesday.

Another Birthday Card

This card went off to the US on Wednesday to a very good friend for her Birthday.  It is a textured card blank by DCWV in a lovely shade of brown.  Then used the threading water punch by fiskars on the base cardstock.  Added pp from Making Memories (just chillin' range).  Added misc. orange ribbon.  The image was stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with promarkers, then the edges were torn and adhered to the cardbase with pop dots.  I added pearls by Papermania to the finished card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
