The Truth About the Housing Protests III: Anarchists Set Fire to Nationalist Tent

From Arutz 7:
Anarchists attacked nationalists who joined the housing protest in Tel Aviv's Rothschild Ave. Thursday. The anarchists set fire to one of the tents pitched by the nationalists but the flames were quickly doused and no one was hurt. The tent was slightly damaged.
A photographer for Tatzpit who documented the arson was also attacked and his camera was damaged. He filed a complaint with the police.

The anarchists and other radical leftists have been harassing the nationalists since they arrived at the site Wednesday. They have torn nationalist signs and shouted "racists out."

Nationalists fought back and a melee resulted. The nationalists also taunted the leftists, saying, "We thought the protest was not political."

There is copious evidence that the protest is organized and financed by the New Israel Fund. However, the protesters insist that they represent an authentic apolitical grassroots movement.
And also from Ynetnews:
Two men in their 20s were detained on suspicion of torching a tent set up by rightist activists on Tel Aviv's Rothschild Boulevard as part of the housing protest at the site.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the tent was torched by members of the Anarchists Against the Wall group.

"The tent was empty, but it could have been much worse," rightist activist Meir Bratler said. "The two little terrorists escaped but were captured on the camera of one of our friends, who handed the evidence over to police.

Bratler said he had run into the suspects earlier. "These guys have been picking on us from the moment we got here. Yesterday in the middle of the night they tried to hurt us but we chased them away," he said, adding that the suspects had arrived "drunk and violent."

Police believe one of the attackers who torched the tent also tried to deface signs and even threatened the protesters with violence.

However, the Anarchists Against the Wall movement rejected the leftists' claims.

"The idea of torching a tent with people inside is shocking," said a member of the movement. "The very idea of one of the activists belonging to Anarchists Against the Wall would do such a thing is preposterous. These are groundless, slanderous accusations aimed."

Bratler also lashed out at the police. "It is inconceivable that the police know how to maintain order in Judea and Samaria but here in central Tel Aviv lawlessness rules," he said.

But the activist stressed that he would not allow "a few hooligan anarchists to chase us out and shut us up."

"We believe in this protest and our just cause. We know most of the people support this protest and we also know the solution is investment in settlement in Judea and Samaria. We will continue to be here and voice this message," he said.

Police suspect that the arson followed a dispute between the suspects and several protestors at the site. Police officers from the downtown Tel Aviv station were able to nab the suspects, who fled the scene.

Tensions flared on Rothschild Wednesday after large groups of rightist activist arrived at the protest site to the great dismay of many protesters who do not agree with the rightists' views.

Extreme rightist Baruch Marzel visited "tent city" as well and told protesters that "when it comes to social issues, I'm more Left than the Left."

Right-wing groups such as Bnei Akiva, Im Tirtzu, and My Israel said they were also protesting in Tel Aviv for lower housing and staple product costs.

We are not Slaves

From an interview with MK Michael Ben-Ari:
Ben-Ari said Kahane should be remembered as a different kind of leader, one who, unlike those who saw Israel as a shelter, believed Israel existed to spread the message that God rules the world and that Jews must reiterate that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people.

“This impacts everything we do,” Ben-Ari said. “For example, the letter to the UN secretary-general.

Some say, how can we fight the US when it’s so big? Kahane said God is great and America is nothing. I don’t mean to mock or harm the US, but we aren’t the slave of any empire.”
Compare this to what President Peres says:
President Shimon Peres said that Israel cannot survive without the help of the United States, at a Jerusalem conference of the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute on Thursday.

Peres said that, "for our existence, we need the friendship of the United States of America."

Special Melave Malkah in Honor of Anti-Evacuation Soldiers

Last night I went to a special Melave Malka. It was in honor of the soldiers that waved the "Shimshon will not evacuate Homesh" sign. These soldiers were sentenced to 20 days in military prison. They finished serving their sentence, and a party was made for them.

Outside the hall where the party was held, a small group of demonstrators from the Labor Party. Their signs say, "On the right and on the left insubordinate people we will not tolerate", "No to insubordinate people rightists and leftists", "When protesting leave the uniform on the side", "We have one army". I guess that means that when Michael Ben Ari becomes Defense Minister they will faithfully obey orders and evacuate Arab villages. ;-)>

Inside the hall a mechitzah separated the men from the women. Cake and soft drinks were served to a crowd that I estimate numbered about 300. There was a pretty decent band and even I, with my two left feet, danced a little bit. I also took some pictures of the event. At a certain point in the evening the organizers stated that the event was closed to the press, and that they requested not to take pictures. I respected their request and even what I photographed inside the hall before they requested I am not publishing.

The first featured speaker was Rabbi Dov Lior of Kiryat Arba (Hebron). He spoke about the fact that for a Jew, the laws of the Torah supersede any other obligations that he may have. "There is no need to say that if the king decreed to negate a commandment of the Torah that we don't listen to him" (Rambam, Laws of Kings 3:9).

Rabbi Dudi Dudkewitz of Yitzhar talked about two different instances of "refusing orders" in the Torah, and what the results were. If I remember correctly one was when Shaul requested that his servants kill the Priests of Nob. The servants refused. Then Saul commanded Doeg the Edomite to kill the Priests, which he did (see 1 Samuel Chapter 22, 2 Samuel Chapter 21). The second case was when David commanded Yoav to conduct a census. Yoav tried to get out of it, but in the end he did it. In both cases the orders were fulfilled. However, in the first case, where there was a clear cut refusal, the house of Saul was held responsible and not the nation of Israel. In the second case, where Yoav kind of fudged the orders but did not refuse outright, the entire nation of Israel was held responsible and punished (see 1 Chronicles Chapter 21).

One of the soldiers that held up the sign and spent time in prison also spoke. He mentioned that many other soldiers in the unit took part in the act.

The crowd itself was interesting. It was a mix of Kachniks, Chabadniks, and Chardalim (although not of the mamlachti type). Moshe Feiglin was also there.

A Tale of Two Forums

Remember the graphic I posted of the professional liar, Barack Hussein Obama? The young artist emlking posted it on two different forums. One forum received the work enthusiastically, while the other forum did not. The threads are in Hebrew and they are worth reading. You can learn a lot about Israeli society by the reactions the graphic evoked.

The Rightists Won in Spite of What the Spinmasters Say

To all the Israeli MSM journalists: Wake up! The left lost, and lost big (in spite of what this guy says). At this time the Right-religious block has 65 members whereas the leftist block has 55. This may change somewhat after the soldiers' votes are counted. Take away from the leftist block votes for the Arab parties that seek the destruction of Israel and they are left with 44 seats!

The spinmasters are at work. Rabin crony Eitan Haber, had the audacity to write the following:
The election results allow the rightist bloc with Lieberman plus Shas, United Torah Judaism, the Jewish Home, and National Union to form a government. Yet I bet this is Bibi Netanyahu’s nightmare. As opposed to those who trust in God, Bibi, the man of the world, knows that the State of Israel’s existence – yes, existence! – depends on legitimacy on the part of the nations of the world, and a rightist government like the one he can form will be an ostracized and blacklisted one-time event.

Last week it was published that Iran and Israel are the two countries most hated by international public opinion. Now, the last thing Bibi Netanyahu needs is to compete with Ahmadinejad for top spot.
The guy just can't stand the thought of a government that represents the vast majority of the Jewish public. He points out that we are hated by the international public. First of all, so what? The international public is ill-informed, and eagerly eats up all of the myths that come out of Pallywood. I do not seek their approval. Secondly, it looks like the Kadima policy of destroying settlements and giving our homeland to our enemies didn't buy him the love he so desperately craves.

This editorial
at jpost.com is also pretty pathetic:
Tuesday's elections gave Kadima 28 mandates and Likud 27 (the balance of power can still shift once all the ballots are counted). It is clear that the two winners need to join forces in a national unity government. Together with Israel Beiteinu's 15 mandates - provided that party would accept a platform that ensures civil rights and equality for all Israelis, including Israeli Arabs - they can effortlessly and expeditiously form a ruling coalition and get down to the business of governing.
The Post's attempt to present Kadima as a winner, when they received less that 25% of the vote, and when the entire Jewish leftist block received less 40% of the vote, is an offense to the intelligence of their readers. I can't stand the spinmasters!
