Easter Fun-FFF10- SS93

Oh man do we have a fun challenge for you this week over at Fairy Fun Fridays.  What is it you ask....to use TISSUE PAPER, anyway you like, something fun, traditional, whatever, just incorporate tissue paper into your creation.

 March11_2010_FFF10_SS93_1

Where's my tissue paper....well, I stamped some Easter eggs in different colors in white tissue paper and then used that for my center strip.  Then I stamped the same egg in CTMHPetal and then used a flower punch to punch out some flowers and voila!

The sketch is from Sketch Saturday and the papers are a K & Co stack.

We are birthday party bound in the morning
as the kids have a day off tomorrow, then off to get my hair done and a visit with my parents...should be great!  Have a super weekend!

Thank you for taking the time to visit me!

CardDrive-Taylored Expressions-TESC101

I really love participating in great events such as the one Taylored Expressions is doing right now.   Seems like the least I can do for families that may be suffering a loss.  You can read more about it here.

February23_2010_TESC101_CardDr_1

You are supposed to use a dragonfly on your card and of course I couldn't find one off hand...but never fear, Prairie Fairy is here.  I remembered seeing this dragonfly in one of Roberta's sets, so I was good.  Now along with using a dragonfly on my card, I also used the TESC sketch from this week AND all the papers and ribbon are from a TE Kit!!  I added some stickles to the dragonfly's body , BG rhinestones to the side of the card and went over the swirls in the wings with a Spica glitter pen.  The sentiment is CTMH.  I actually made 2 of the same ones and will send them off to Taylor tomorrow.

I have another card drive card to show you in a day or 2 as well as a fun Dutch Dare challenge this week and more Prairie Fairy on Friday!

I really don't know what I am going to do with myself once the Olympics are over...there won't be anything on TV!!  Loved the Ice Dance last night..GOLD baby and the Ladies Ski Cross was awesome today...GOLD again!!  That's a pretty crazy sport, hectic to say the least!  Anyway watching Canada kick some butt in hockey from earlier ...back to watching, thankgoodness for DVR!!

See you soon!

Card for Delia~SSS 43

Dustin Pike is such a generous person and I was so excited to see the wonderful owl images he made for Delia.  I received my images last week but just finally had time to get a card done for Delia and will pop it in the mail tomorrow!
 Februaru16_2010_SSS43_1

It's not super girly colors so I added alot of bling here and there.  She's most definitely a star, so I wanted to use this fun paper from CTMH. I hope it brings a smile to her face.  Kirsten has also made one but it's just not quite done yet, so I'll post that as well when she's finished.

I stumbled upon the Sweet Stop Sketches blog and liked the sketch that's up this week, so I played along with it.

Thank you so much for making the Prairie Fairy blog hop such a great success, it was fun!  Also just a reminder that my blog candy is still open until the 18th, so click here to leave a comment for you chance to win!

The kids have all week off school and are excited to be going to Grandma and Grandpa's for a sleepover.  They've both had a tummy bug though, so I think we will stay home tomorrow and then they can go over on Thursday and Friday!

Fairy Fun Friday #5~Tea-riffic!

It is Fairy Fun Friday time again and we have another great sketch for you this week from Roberta

Here's my take on the sketch...I flipped it to fit my image...

February4_2010_PrairieFairy#5

I used some of my papers from the January Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit. The sweet image is Sugar Fairy from Prairie Fairy Designs.  Ribbon from SU, flowers are Prima and pearls are Basic Grey.

Kirsten had a wonderful day, thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes for her!  I think I am going to do a digi scrapbook page with some highlights from today, Saturday (when we have her family party) and Sunday (when we have her skating party with her school buddies) and then I'll post it.  I definitely think her biggest surprise was her very own BLUE (her favorite color) ipod Nano...she was so surprised, it was awesome.  I had it engraved too and she thought that was pretty cool!

Chances are that I probably won't be back until Monday or so as my house needs some attention before the weekend and I'll be busy with my family and such, but I'll be back soon!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by!

*Thank You*-Friday Sketchers #87

There are so many fun digi stamp companies out there now and I am just loving the images that Karen at Karen's Doodles has to offer.

February2_2010_FS

I have used Skater Girl and paired her with some fun papers from My Mind's Eye.  The sketch is from Friday Sketchers this week and it's a good one from Jeanette!  I need a few thank you cards for our skating club, so I thought this image was perfect!

On a totally separate note, I can't believe that I will have a 7 year old tomorrow!!  It's Kirsten's birthday and she is so excited!  We are having dinner out tomorrow night after skating with us and my FIL, Saturday will be with my parents, sisters and BIL and then on Sunday she is having a combined skating party with her friend Olivia (their birthdays are only a few days apart, so we are trying the combined party this year as it's the same kids that come for both anyway) .  So that's what up around her for the next few days anyway!!

See you tomorrow!

Summer In Winter with Prairie Fairy!

Thankfully after the week I've had, I have lucked out and managed to make this card that will work for 3 different challenges this week, 2 of which are DT challenges;-)

January28_2010_PF4_ASFOS88

First off, our challenge over at Dutch Dare is Summer in Winter, so with the bright, cheery colors, I thought this fit perfectly. It is follows Roberta's fabulous sketch over at Fairy Fun Fridays and suits the Freestyle challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar.

The image is called Hangin Out and can be found in the Prairie Fairy store.   I used paper from the Dec Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit along with flowers and candy dots from the kit too!  I added some stickles to the pink candy dots for some sparkle.

I'm so glad this week is over...  Kirsten has been sick and off school all week, tomorrow is a school holiday, so that 's good.  I just hope that these meds kick in soon and I have my girl back.  She's feeling a bit better tonight, so I hope tomorrow is a much better day!  First Landon, then Kirsten (she got whatever this is way worse than my little cowboy had it though) and it better not be me next!

Anyway, I hope everyone in your house is healthy!  Have a super weekend!

Bella Sympathy~FS86~ASFOS87

I made this card by request for my friend Lorelei.  She is super busy right now finishing up some marking for a contract teaching position she just finished, but she is also making Kirsten a skating dress for her competition next week.  So since I don't know how to sew, the least I can do is make her a card.

Jnauary23_2010_ASFOS#86_FS#87

I have used yet another fabulous Prairie Fairy image for my card along with CTMH's Bella paper and matching cs.  My layout features this week's Friday Sketchers sketch, but this card will also fit the A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge, which is to use lots of layers.

We're just having a relaxing weekend at home this weekend and it sure has been nice.  The kids and I had a snooze this afternoon and it was great!  Kirsten is now getting what Landon has, so she's not feeling great, but I guess that's what happens..goes through the house..hopefully I'm not next!!

Thanks for visiting and please do come back again soon!

Heartfelt Sympathy~SSSC#52

Wow, it's been a super long time since I've pulled out a SU! set let alone making a total SU! card, but here we are.

January19_2010_SSSC52

I used Karen's great Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #52 from this week for my layout, SU set called Close to a Memory and all SU paper...I forget the name of this paper, but I used Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss cs with it.

I added another sentiment from the same set on the inside of the card as well.  It's always so hard to figure out what to write on the inside of sympathy cards, so I thought at least it's partly done for me now that I added this verse.    Lance and his Dad are going to Calgary this afternoon for a funeral and this is the card I made to send along with them.

Well off I scoot, Landon is sick (I think just a cold) and has been sleeping since 7pm, so I have a feeling it may be a long night!  I'm not sending him to school tomorrow so at least we can hang out in our jammies together...after we take Kirsten to school that is!

Thank you for taking the time to visit me!

Fairy Fun Friday #2

Here is my card for Fairy Fun Friday's and we have a wonderful sketch from Roberta. I really love this sketch, so it will stay close by to use again and again.

January14_2010_FFF#2

I have used Sitting Pretty from Prairie Fairy Designs and all the paper is from CTMH, sentiment from Aud Design and the rhinestones are from Michaels.  Hop on over to the Fairy Fun Friday's blog and check out the DT's fabulous work!

I am so glad it's Friday today...it's just been one of "those" weeks and although the weekend isn't going to slow down any, I am looking forward to it!  We are off to Okotoks for a follow up eye appointment for Kirsten, then to visit my sister and Dad until my Mom is off work and then Kirsten has a birthday party on Sunday and we may go skating!

Thanks for taking the time to visit me!

Rockin Birthday!

I had this card all done to enter in last weeks High Hopes Challenge, had it photographed and everything and then I got running around, doing my Fairy Fun Friday card, went shopping yesterday with Kirsten for fabric for her figure skating outfit and totally forgot about it! Anyway, here it is, better late than never right!

January8_2010_HH#57

I made this for a birthday party Landon is invited to tomorrow after playschool for his friend Kaylee (I did a set of letters for her and her sister here).   I used Singing Katrina from High Hopes for my image and of course colored her in with my Copics.  I did add some sparkle to her microphone and buckle.  The fun papers are from DCWV.

Off I go to get the ironing done for the week...I iron shirts for Lance and Landon for the week...Landon "needs" to have an ironed shirt for playschool, ya know you gotta look good when you're 4!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

A Little Fairy Told Me...KLSNS#11

...that Roberta is working like crazy to launch Prairie Fairy and it should be live soon, very soon! In the mean time you can pop on over to the Prairie Fairy blog and have a look at some of the fun creations my fellow DT members have made.

January5_2010_KLSNS#11_PrairieFairy

This is my very first Prairie Fairy creation and I am so excited, these images are wonderful! This particular fairy is called Tippy Toe Fairy and she in colored in with Copics.  I added some stickles to her wings and sponged the oval with Desert Sand CTMH ink.  I used the sketch from KL Stampin N Scrappin Kick off to 2010 Challenges. Hop on over and have a look...the more participants, the bigger the prize!

Thanks for stopping by to visit and I just wanted to say a big HELLO to all of my new followers!
Have a wonderful evening!

A Hanglar Winter-ICS#47

Oh my goodness did I hit the jackpot....I won Tammi's surprise blog candy a couple weeks ago and received some of the very sought after Hanglar images...man I would love it if those guys were available to buy for everyone!
December23_2009_ICS#47

Anyway, along with some fabulous images, and yummy treats, was also this gorgeous pp by K & Co. The colors and papers are so rich and beautiful, textured too! The ribbons were from my goodie bag as well...see I told you I hit the jackpot. I love these colors!  Thank you Tammi!

I used the great sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches from this week...some great goodies up for grabs too:-)

This will be my last post until after Christmas, so I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  See you soon!

Happy Holidays,

Sweetness-SS#82-MCKC-Dec

How cute is this sweet girl?

Dec21-@009_SS#82_MCKC

I used Sketch Saturday's sketch from this past Saturday for my layout. I did leave off the sentiment as I'm not exactly sure who will be receiving this or what the occasion may be, so I can add that later.

The fabulous papers, image and embellies are all from the December Monthly Card Kit Club.  This is the last month, so take advantage fo this great kit while Karin still has it available.

All (well mostly) of the presents are wrapped.  We were going to make gingerbread cookies today, but I was short a couple of spices, so we'll have to do that later thsi week...probably the 24th, but that'ok.  We have some fun recipes we are going to make tomorrow and the kids are excited!  Are you ready for Christmas?

Thanks you for taking the time to visit! In case I don't get back before Christmas Day, I would like to take a moment to wish you and your families a very Happy Holiday season and all the best to you for a fabulous 2010!!  Thank you for making 2009 a fab blogging year for me!

Love Bugs-ASFOS#82_Quixotic#7_MCKC

Yes I know I am a terrible blogger...I really have no excuse other than life gets busy sometime.

I am back now though with a fun card that fits a couple of challenges and it uses products in the December Monthly Card Kit Club.  These papers are fabulous, doubelsided to boot and the embellies Karin has chosen are wonderful!  The image is from mt DT kit as well and I'm not sure who it's by, but they are adorable!

December16_2009_ASFOS_Quixotic

I used this week's sketch from A Spoon Full of Sugar (I rotated it) and combined that with the challenge from Quixotic this week, which is to use lace.  Some of this delightful chocolate brown lace was included in my DT kit from MCKC and thought it worked well.

I was lucky enough to win Tammi's blog candy a bit ago and it was a surprise...love it!  Yummy treats, gorgeous papers and ribbons and delightful images!  Thanks Tammi!!  Also I was lucky enough to win Jacque's Sweet Treat blog candy and I can't wait to receive it.  So on the blog candy note, I have decided t wait until the new year for mine....I wanted to keep it open for a bit and just thought with Christmas so close it's so busy right now and it wouldn't arrive before Christmas anyway, so Iw ill wait until the busy season is over....don't be sad though, I ahve some fun things int here for one lucky winner...maybe even 2!

Thanks for visiting today and for sticking with me although my posts can sometime be inconsistent!

Happy Birthday~DDCC#66

I can't believe I am actually on time for once!  Yay!  This week's challenge over at Dutch Dare is a wonderful color inspiration pict.

Dec2_2009_DDCC#66

In Style Stamps is the sponsor this week and they were kind enough to give us a couple of images to work with and this is the one I chose.

Short & sweet for me this morning! Lance is out doing some chores and I need to finish getting ready so we can leave!! See you Monday!

Just Chillin'~MCKC-Nov~Papertake Weekly# 29-KK#8

I have really enjoyed using this great kit from the Monthly Card Kit Club! In my DT kit there was a fun chipboard star, so I used that for my project today. Although I have not made a card, I did incorporate this week's sketch from Papertake Weekly. The sponsor over there this week is Kraftin' Kimmie and I used one of her images!

Dec2_2009_PTW#30

This lil' guy will also work for Kraftin Kimmie's challenge #8 which is Touchy Feely.  I have used a CB piece (blue one), stickles ahs been added to the hat, stars, snowflakes and on the embossed parts on the flower!

So with the exception of the stickles and the image & sentiment, everything was part of the Nov MCKC, even the silver star ribbon that I will hang it with!

We are off to Great Falls, Montana tomorrow for a long weekend of shopping and a bit of relaxation...I hope, but with 2 kids, I'm not sure that will happen.  Anyway the hotel does have a great big pool and a hot tub, so it should be great!

Thank you so very much for your visit today and stay tuned..I'll have some blog candy when I get back!

Snowy Wishes~Get Sketchy 14~C4C11

Oh how I love this image.  It's from Mo Manning and it makes me smile!

November14_2009_GetSketchy14_C4C11

I used this weeks sketch from Get Sketchy as well as the bonus item was to use markers and I did, I colored this guy in with my Copics.  The acetate snowflake from Heidi Swapp will also work for the Crazy 4 Challenges this week which is to use acetate!

All of the ppaer and ribbon is from SU!, the acetate snowflake is Heidi Swapp and the white snowflake button is from CTMH.  I added stickles to the acetate snowflake, around the snowman, for the snowy ground and I painted some Shimmerz onto the white button.

Had a nice quiet weekend, just caught up on some laundry and such.  Lance is out of town all week coming up, so it was nice to just hang out together.  The kids and I are about to watch the new Tinkerbell movie while Lance is having a snooze....off I go!

Thanks for visiting!

Roundin' Up Some Winter Wishes-DDCC#64, ASFOS #76, HH #51

This one's workin' for me for 3 different challenges! I love it when things work out and challenges can be combined, there are so many great challenge blogs out there but not enough time to do them all;-)

So first off, it's Dutch Dare Card Challenge time and we are asking you to use "felt" on your project for this challenge. Then onto the High Hopes Challenge #51 this week which is to use Snowflakes (and of course a HH image) and then last but certainly not least is the great sketch by Sonja over on the A Spoon Full of Sugar
blog.

Nov5_2009_DDCC#64_ASFOS#76_HHSnowflakes

All paper is from CTMH as is the pretty Twilight snowflake, the 2 white snowflakes are from SU!  I ran the main image piece through my CB for a snow effect, thanks Cindy, you're the best at it!  My papers have snowflakes on them as well as the "felt" snowflakes, my image is from High Hopes, a cute Cowboy Snowman.  I added stickles for some snow as well as the senitment which is from High Hopes as well.

Kirsten is starting singing club today and she is so excited!  I bought her a cute little top (we'll go shopping together for the bottoms as I found a cute velvet skirt, but she's not really a skirt girl, so we'll see) that is ivory satin with a small ruffle on either side of the button placket and sparkly silver buttons for her to wear for when they sing at the Christmas concert and they also carol around town too.

Thank you for taking the time to stop and visit me today!

**For You~Friday Sketchers # 73~Monthly Card Kit Club-October**

So far our holiday weekend here in Canada has been wonderful...cold but good! Today my FIL will come on down (he only loves about 3 miles away) for dinner with us tonight and then back to school for Kirsten anyway tomorrow.

Here is my very first creation using the wonderful Monthly Card Kit Club for October called Cherry Hill. Please click here to see the kit in it's entirety and click here for subscription info.

This kit is so very pretty, gorgeous papers and flowers, ribbon and spacers too, really everything to make beautiful cards.  This image is too cute as well, although I don't know the name of it or who makes it, it was part of my DT kit, but it's super sweet!  Almost everything is from the kit (flowers, flower center, ribbons and pp), but I did add some rhinestone gems from CTMH and the cs is from my stash. I also used some Spica glitter pens on the flowers, vines and bird for some shimmer.

I used this weeks sketch from Friday Sketchers for my layout and although I had some trouble with it, I am happy with the outcome.

Off I scoot to get the house tidy and such.  Wishing you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Winter Wishes

It seems like I'm turning into a night poster maybe! It's just an easier time for me to have a bit of time to sit down and actually write a post, so if you see more posts appearing at night instead of in the morning, that's why!

I stumbled upon a new challenge blog and although it's not new to the blogging world, this is the 53rd challenge, but it's new to me. It's called Eat, Sleep, Stamp and she has some wonderful sketches. Again, I am just in under the wire but here is my card for ESS # 53.

I used Mimo is Christmas from Bunny Zoe's and the bear is actually colored, but it's Copic color W00 so it doesn't show up very well in the pict..it is super light anyway.  The dsp and cs is SU, the ribbon is from a Taylored Expressions grab bag, the rhinestones are Basic Grey Bling It and the snowflake charms are from Bunny Zoe's as well.

Like I said yesterday this is my last day as the September Guest Designer for Bunny Zoe's Crafts and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the fabulous Nikki for giving me this great honor!  It was wonderful!
