Thank you for reminding me what butterflies feel like!

Hello lovelies, hope you are well! There's a new craft challenge over at TTCRD so today I am sharing my DT creation! Our sponsor is The Project Bin; here is a little more information about them:

The Project Bin was started because it's founder, Denise Storck (a long-time stamper and paper-crafter) couldn't find a stamp that said 'you are awesome sauce' so she decided to make her own! One thing led to another and now her small business fills a niche in the card making industry for unique word art sentiments in the highest quality photopolymer clear stamps, made in the U.S.A

To make my card, I started with this fabulous Kinda- sorta clear stamp and using a clear block and Black soot distress ink, stamped the image onto a piece of kraft card stock. Next, I lightly distressed the edges using a distressing tool and Ground espresso distress oxide. I have also used these gorgeous papers from my stash, which I distressed using the same technique to achieve an old distressed vintage look.

Once all layers of paper had been adhered to my card base, I then lightly spread some white gesso in random places over the main stamped image. I let this dry naturally, then adhered that on to the centre of the card. I have also used a Tim Holtz stitch stamp to create a sewed look on the paper.

Finally, I fussy cut a vintage clipart flower, distressed the edges using Ground espresso distress ink and adhered that also to the bottom corner of my card. Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs, Zowie xx

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Altered mini file folder

Hello lovely friends, hope you are well! Today I am sharing my latest DT creation for Linda Israel. I have used the gorgeous 'Outrageous Orange' printable journal kit. Here is some info on the collection:

Calico Collage teamed up with Linda Israel and created the Outrageous Orange printable journal kit. This kit merges Linda's mixed media art with Norella's digital style to create a unique one of a kind kit. You can buy the exclusive printable Outrageous Orange kit at Linda's shop.
Also make sure to stop by Norella's shop for over 1000 digital products to use in your paper crafts.

Here I have created an altered file folder using a free basic template from Google images and a piece of Kraft card stock. I distressed the edges of the entire folder using Walnut stain distress ink, then adhered some of the paper from the kit. I also added some of the beautiful ephemera also included. I did however, print off the quote 'fly' as I thought it fitted perfectly with the theme.

Next I decorated the inside of the file folder using some more of the paper and I also adhered a matching pocket with stored ephemera.

Finally, I decorated the back panel of the folder; all edges of paper have been distressed using a distressing tool and Walnut stain distress ink.

Here I have added another of my DT creations; an altered vintage book page paper clip. You can find the blog post HERE
Thanks so much for stopping by, I really do appreciate your visit!

Nature pocket card

Hello dear friends, hope you are well!

Today, I am sharing with you a nature inspired pocket card that I recently made, inspired by the lovely and extremely talented Stacy Zimmerman Hutchinson from Tattered Nest Designs

To start, I took a blank Kraft envelope and covered all sides with these beautiful digital papers from the Secret Garden set 02 and Secret Garden set 04

For the inside of the card, I created some pockets to store my art tags HERE  which I made for this project. Here I have hand-stitched a beautiful vintage photo booth photograph to give some added interest and I also added a vintage stamp and some Botanicals.

I have adhered some music note tissue paper to this pocket, which I also used on my tags to match the theme.

These beautiful Botanicals have been inked with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide as have all the edges of the pocket card and tags.

I have also used these beautiful Vintage bird illustrations as tags and as a focal image for the front of my pocket card.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visit!

A wonderful life

Hello dear friends, hope you are having a lovely day/evening where you are in the world! Here in the UK, the nights are drawing in earlier and the weather is getting much cooler. Now that September is here, Fall/Autmn is soon to be upon us.

For this tag, I wanted to use a monochromatic colour scheme, with a touch of colour. Here I have used paper from my stash, including some wood design wallpaper. I love using wallpaper in my creations, I think it adds a different texture and look. Music note tissue paper has also been added to match the colour scheme.

I have used this delightful photo booth image, a black and white botanical which I adhered on to my tag along with a sentiment.

This art tag has also been included along with other tags that I created for my nature inspired pocket card, which you can find HERE

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look, I really do appreciate your visit!

Love nature - vintage tags

Hello lovely friends, hope you are well!

Today I am sharing a selection of nature tags that I have recently made, along with these I have also created a pocket card for these to go into. You can find that HERE I want to give credit to a lovely lady and amazing artist called Tracy over at Tattered nest designs
who has really inspired me to make these.

For this tag I have used digital paper in neutral tones, along with a Tim Holtz
Bingo embossing folder.

Here I have used a Tim Holtz French script stamp along with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide, some music note washi tape and a fussy cut vintage wasp image. I have also used a honeycomb die along with rose gold wallpaper to achieve this look.

To complete this, I adhered a beautiful vintage label and some fussy cut Botanicals, all layers have been distressed with Ground Espresso distress oxide.

***************

For this tag, I have altered a Tim Holtz vintage Bingo card.

Yellow butterflies and a darling bird image along with a torn music sheet have been used to alter the card. Ground Espresso Oxide has also been used on all layers.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I really do appreciate it. Please leave a comment so that I can say 'Hello' to you!

Go where you feel most alive

Hello lovely friends, hope you are well!

I am so thrilled and honoured to be a Guest Designer this Month over on the
Frilly and Funkie Challenge blog
Our hostess, Sara Emily has chosen the following as this Months theme:

“Having just returned from our annual trek to the mountains of West Virginia where we observed so much natural beauty on our hikes, I couldn't help but make my challenge nature themed. You can make anything you like, from a card or tag to altered art, just be sure to include a natural element in your vintage or shabby chic project. Think real twigs, leaves, shells, pebbles. Or you could include a die cut or a stamped or stenciled  image representing a natural object.”

I wanted to create a real feel of nature for this tag, so I have used neutral tones. I have used a variety of papers from Maja design and Lemon craft and this delightful bird image. I distressed all layers with Walnut stain distress ink.

Here I have used a Tim Holtz Bingo embossing folder on the top layer of paper, I also tore the edges, the paper was quite thin, which made the fibres break down a little, but the end result gave more of an old and worn distressed look, which I was happy with!

To complete the final look, I used a grunge background stamp along with Black soot distress ink, which I applied on to the main image. I have also used the Tim Holtz Holiday Greens die set to use as a natural element and I printed out the words 'go where you feel most alive' and adhered those to the
bottom of the tag.

Hope you like my nature inspired tag!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
