Girlfriends Forever

Hello crafters,

Today I have a second inspiration make for our Country View Challenge on the theme of "Romance and Friendship" hosted by yours truly!
I first created my background with alcohol inks on Yupo paper, spritzing with alcohol and dripping  Alcohol blending ink.  Then, I applied Ranger's alcohol lift ink with a brayer to the whole Yupo sheet and transferred the "print" by pressing white cardstock on top of the Yupo. (second prints can be done but will be paler).

I stamped the Paper Artsy girls from the fifties (HP1207 set) an old one but perfect for this card.
I added a sentiment from a STAMPlorations set (sadly not active at the moment)

The paper and mat have been cut with the AALL & Create die set #33 - Splodazzlers

To enter the challenge, hop on to our friendly group here and upload your project to the challenge album. You could win both stamp sets pictured below from the Country View Craft shop.

Shades of blue

Hello crafters,
Today we have a new theme for our Allsorts challenge, "Shades of Blue", chosen by Liz. You can also enter with the Anything Goes option. up to 5 times! My inspiration make is this tag all in blue bar the matt:

I did all my stamping first, using different colours of Versafine ink.
Stamps are all Lavinia:
Oak Leaf Flourish (LAV760)
Fantasea (LAV721)
Bulrushes (LAV003)
Forest Moss (LAV857)

I then created the background, also with Versafine Clair inks using a smoothie. The moon (a simple circle) and the boat were masked to preserve the lightness.
I added a few strokes of pastel pencils to anchor the bulrushes and represents ripples in the water.
The base and the black mat were die-cut with the #27 Tag It Yourself die set by AALL & Create

Hop over to the Allsorts blog to see all the DT inspiration and upload your projects. There are two prizes of Lavinia Stamps and stencil (photos not to scale) to be won!

Bewitched

Hello crafters,

Today I am kicking off the Country View Challenge on the theme of "Romance and Friendship" which I have chosen since Valentine's day is just around the corner!
If Romantic love is not your thing you can go with Friendship or any other kind of human love (children, family...)

The inspiration for this card is the Sizzix/Tim Holtz Vault set Wicked (666683), on the premise that witches do not always have to be sinister and the old series Bewitched came to mind.
It's not that I don't have any "Romantic" themed stamps or dies but I was itching to use the set, one of my latest purchases from Country View Crafts during the Advent Calendar event (every year my budget downfall...).

For background I chose AALL & Create #15 Ethereal Expeditions paper. I say paper but at a whooping 350gsm it is very much heavy cardstock, great for card bases and boxes too!
I added some Distress inks to suggest a floor and a wall.

To the broom, witch, cat and bottles from the Wicked set, I added heart confettis (Memory Box Heart Sprinkles 94112), and the word Love (660218 Sizzix/Tim Holtz Thinlits Die Set 7PK - Handwritten Love).
The shelf is a freebie die from Creative Stamping magazine( Issue 105) and I have printed the cauldron and fussy cut it.

There you have it, witches aren't just for Halloween!

To enter the challenge, hop on to our friendly group here and upload your project to the challenge album. You could win both stamp sets pictured below from the Country View Craft shop.

Black & White

Hello crafters,

today a quick post and an unusual colour scheme for this card as I road test my new dies:

I first stamped the Crafty Individual "The Village Inn and Church" (CI-474) with black Versafine.

The other elements, including the mat, are die-cut: the trees and "fence" are from the AALL & Create #78 set (Roadway Vistas). Once die-cut, I applied black ink on top of the embossed areas to show off the details.

The base card and the black mat are die-cut with the AALL & Create  #77 die set (Climbing Woods).

Note: I suspect the names of these 2 die sets have been mistakenly swapped but that is the way they show up in all craft websites.

It feels quite odd to create in stark black and white and I might try the same design with colours too!

If like me you have a plethora of paper that you cannot bear to cut into, this project is for you!

To make the bag I followed Nigezza's tutorial here. The tag I die cut (partially) from another piece of paper of the same paper.

Supplies:
Paper: Chatsworth by Paper Artsy
Sentimentally Yours:  Essential Sentiments SYC007.
Die set: AALL & Create #33 Splodazzlers

Hop on to Allsorts and upload your make for the chance to win 2 prizes of Lavinia Stamps. You can enter up to 5 times and worthy entries will earn a place in the Top 7.

Wintry Scene with Lavinia

Hello crafters!
Today I have a first inspiration make for our Country View Challenge held in the Facebook group. This month the theme is "Wintry Scenes" hosted by Rachel.

More snow in my scene than in real life in England...

I created the background with Versafine inks and paper masks for the "hills".

I stamped my Fairy Fir tree (LAV478), Small Pine Trees (LAV836), Forest Moss (LAV857) just peeking from the snow, the Small Robins (LAV928) and Mini Mistletoe (LAV926). Most of those are new to me so I just had to use them!

I die-cut the scene and a matching mat with the AALL & Create #78 - Die-Cutting Die Set - Roadway Vistas die set.

A few dab of gel pen here and there for snow and the white of the mistletoe berries finish the scene.

I hope I have inspired you to enter the challenge! Do hop on to our friendly group here and upload your project to the challenge album. You could win a prize from  the Country View Craft shop.

Layer It Up Washi

Hello crafters,

I have been playing with some new supplies (for me) and I am quite excited!

I am talking of the Layer It Up Washi tapes from AALL & Create.
If you are not familiar with these read on...

They come in a 2.5cm wide, 10 meters long roll, with a pattern repeat every 40cm (approximately). A 40cm length can be cut in 10cm chunks and layered one below the other to reveal a complete image. Below is the image I put together on a piece of card with the Leaf Out My Book tape (#101).

The roll will allow you to make some 25 such images, but, of course, you can still use the tape as any other washi!

As to styles, AALL & Create has large variety of tapes including themed ones for Christmas with either cute cats, dogs, foxes, bunnies and bears! (Country View Crafts has them here). Imagine securing your wrapping papers with them!!

Anyhoo, I made this card with the image as the focal point, which I had decided to die-cut with AALL & Create #32 die set to give it a more organic shape than the square I had as in the above picture. I used a partial die-cutting technique as the die is longer than the image.

The background is a Graphic 45 paper (A place in time 6x6 paper pad)  and I cut a mat from Chatsworth, a very old paper pack by Paper Artsy (a collector item, I believe Chatsworth and Thorndon Hall were the only 2 ever made).

A stamped sentiment completes the card (Sentimentally yours SYC007).

Hope you enjoyed the read and, as usual, thanks for coming by!

Autumn has arrived

Hello crafters!

Today I have a first inspiration make for our Country View Challenge held in the Facebook  group. This month the theme is "Autumn Richness" and to celebrate the new season, not that it's my favourite, I chose to make a decor item.

The base has been recycled from a particularly big wooden packaging, the lightweight kind that comes with some ready made dishes. It was round but I cut it as an Octagon and flattened it (I have worked out that an ordinary steam iron works well for that).

For the background to the "Autumn" I used the AALL & Create die set Infinarty (#39) and the Lavinia stencil Leaf Trails (ST017) with Distress inks.
I added my title, die-cut with the Sizzix Alpha set 662228 and stamped 2 leaves (stamp from my own collection).

The 3D elements are the fantastic mushrooms moulded with the Stamperia Silicone Mould Woodland Mushrooms (KACMA502) and the fallen leaves a mix of die-cuts and punched leaves from cardstock inked with Distress Oxide inks.

For now, I have left the knots of the twine as you can see them whilst I mull over how I am going to transform the back into a Winter/Christmas decor piece, but, if possible, I will hide them with metallic leaf brads.

To give you an idea what it looks like in situ in the house:

Purple Crocus

Hello again!
I have another flower card today... I just had to use this AALL & Create stamp that I won at Stamping Sensations challenge last month.

The result sadly doesn't quite match my initial vision, but I am showing it here anyway
 keeping it real...

The stamp is from the Crocus set (#624) by AALL & Create, the heart die (cut in white and then black) is from the Studio light "So Spring" (SS78) die set, and I used a scalloped die to cut the black card (Julie Hickey Designs, JHD-CUT-1003).

Once stamped, I coloured the crocus with pencils and added a bit of white acrylic splatter to finish.

Dapper Bunny

Hello crafters!

Today I have a second inspiration make for our Country View Challenge held in the Facebook  group. This month the theme is "Mad March Hare" which also includes rabbits and anything Easter!

This time my card doesn't even sport a sentiment on the front as, ahem, it got rather busy! Last year I made a few of these "Floating frame" cards and I just love how impressive they look.

My focal image is the bunny from the AALL & Create Set "In the Wild" (#529), which I coloured with pencils.

The frame is made of several flowers and leaves die-cut with the Sizzix Thinlits  – Floral Layers die set (664359), which I coloured with Distress inks. I could have die cut into coloured cardstock but this gave me more control over the exact shades, as I don't have all colours of cardstock under the sun! Especially greens since I don't like them and yet there are often necessary for all the trees and leaves so I always run out!!!

And another look at the height:

So, no time to lose, create something for Easter and/or with a bunny in it, to win it! You will find our March challenge here, in our friendly Facebook group. Our prize this month is this lovely bundle....

A Fox among the flowers

Welcome to my second inspiration post for the our Country View Challenge! The theme chosen by the lovely Sue is 4 Legged friend and I have a foxy little number for you...

I stamped the fox from AALL & Create (set #529) directly on my base card using the stamping platform as it is a big stamp, and the platform helps in capturing all the details!

I coloured the image with water-based markers.

I will be back for more inspiration but in the meantime, your turn to create a Birthday card for men and link up your project to the Country View Challenge for the chance to win a £20 voucher for the Country View Craft shop.

Spring Bunny

Welcome to my second inspiration piece for our Country View Challenge on the
Theme of "Spring is coming!
I stamped the bunny from the AALL & Create Stamp Set In the Wild (#529) with water based markers and my trusty stamping platform. There is so many stamps in the set I haven't even used all them yet, and I love this slightly grunged up but realistic look of the images. [Yes this is my stamp set of the moment!]

I coloured the flowers and leaves with watercolour but the bunny's colours are just stamping. I should add that some of the details of the image has been lost because of the texture of the paper.

The background is stencilled in Distress inks with one of the stencil from the Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Mini Layering Stencil set #35.

As was mulling over how to finish and mat my card, I had to use my sewing machine for some repairs and decided I should take the opportunity to sew a border.

The sentiment is stamped on a die-cut tag (Impression Obsession IO Flags Die Set DIE015-F)

You still have 2 weeks to link up your project to the challenge for the chance to win a £20 voucher for the Country View Craft shop, so hop on over to the Country View Challenge blog for more inspiration and details on how to enter.

Spring is here

Spring has sprung! Quite literally in the case of my make today, which is my inspiration piece for our Country View Challenge, hosted this month by Corrie. Yes, you might have guessed already our theme is Spring.

I first used Gelatos for the background and applied Distress Oxides inks in similar colours through the Stamperia Wallpaper Fantasy (KSTDG03)12x12 stencil on top.

The focal image is a stamp from the AALL & Create Stamp Set #529 - In the Wild by Bipasha BK. I stamped it in black Versafine, removed as much colour as I could with a brush and water from the petals and re-coloured with a yellow pencil.

The sentiment has been cut with the 662228 Alpha set and Sizzix Thinlits Die Set - Adventure Words Script by Tim Holtz (660224). I cut the lower case e from the enjoy word and substituted the capital E from the Alpha set.

Over to you now, have a look at what the DT made on the Country View Challenge blog and link up your project to the challenge for the chance to win a £20 voucher for the Country View Craft shop.

Hearts and Flowers Greeting card

Hello crafters, today is my turn to inspire the Country View Challenges fans with a Hearts and Flowers make, the theme chosen by Jane. Lack of imagination meant I went totally literal:

The design would suit Valentine's Day, Mother's day or even Birthdays really!

The flower image is a stamp from the AALL & Create Stamp Set #529 - In the Wild by Bipasha BK, and the die-cut border is an old 12x12 border die by Docrafts .

The flowers were coloured with watercolours.
