Exploding Baby Shoe Box xx

Hello there
I would like to share with you a project I have been working on for a while. My friend’s daughter has just had a baby girl and I wanted to make her a gift. I decided on a kind of explosion box – I think that is what you call them.  I need to apologise for the photographs, I really do not think they do the box justice. I have used Lilac papers and the poor light and background really is not showing it off.

The tiny accordion book opens up on top of the box to revel the baby’s name. All the letters are individually stamped. I didn’t want to open it up to show you, just because the bow took me so long to get right!!

A peek at the inside.

I made the little tiles that are on the die cut labels using stamps and some glossy accents on the top.

I made the baby shoe from matching papers, I found the baby shoe template on the internet. It was printed off on to some card to make it a sturdy template that I could keep.It was easy to use and when the papers were cut out and glued together it turned out really cute and tiny.

Lots of pearls, flowers, shabby loveliness and of course one or two butterflies. It is the first time I have used acetate like this and love it :-) x

I would like to enter my project into two challenge blogs.
Over on Frilly and Funkie they have a ‘Hip to be square’ challenge asking participants projects to be cube shaped and have a shabby chic or vintage feel. How could I resist that? I follow the blog via email and have only just recently found them. They have some gorgeous work shown on the blog, go take a peep.
Over on the City Crafter their current challenge is Roses, perfect. I would have to have my hands tied together to stop me adding flowers and roses to 99% of my projects te he. I have not entered a challenge on City Crafter for 2 years, so I thought I was due a challenge entry. I love all the challenge blogs, you see some amazing work and projects and get some great inspiration.
Thank you so much for coming over to take a look at my work.

Pink Shabby Chic Birthday Card

Hello there

I am afraid my post titles are aheeem a little similar just lately, but what else can you call a shabby chic card lol! This is just a quick post today.

Here is yet another friend's shabby chic birthday card.

This card has lots of flowers again, and is very similar to my last few cards. In my defence I am just lovely my latest stash from Live and Love Crafts. I think that for the fist time ever I may just end up using all of the gorgeous craft goodies I bought from a craft store.

Apologies for the quality of the picture, I realised as I was just about to leave the house with the card I hadn't took a photograph of it. So as you can see I just lifted the 'carefully folded' tissue to take a snap or two.

This gorgeous image is Pion Designs - Bouquet

I am also making another ladies birthday card for my future mum in law, so be warned lol. I will post it soon.

Thanks for coming over and taking a peep

Friends Shabby Chic Birthday Card

Over on Live and Love Crafts they have a new challenge. Giving us crafters a great Inspiration Collage picture board to inspire our crafty creative juices. I am loving all the colours, flowers and of course butterflies in the images. Well I would because I nearly always have them appear somewhere in my cards lol. I knew I was going to love making this card.

So here is my entry for the challenge. It is another shabby chic birthday card and its for one of my special friends, Jeannette.

I wanted to add more flowers than I usually do, so I tried to be a bit braver. Sometimes more is best with shabby don’t you think? I am not sure I have quite got the hang of card flower arranging but I think I got pretty close to ok. Of course all my papers (Vintage Spring Basics), my Lily Flower charm and flowers all got a splat of gesso on them. My lovely vintage image also got some shabby treatment with the Fran-táge embossing enamel; I also tried it on a metal butterfly and just loved the results.

A close up of my flower arranging! Good old Gesso, I blinking love the stuff, and I am loving the Pearl Pins from L & L Crafts.

The gorgeous butterfly, with added Fran-táge  and a few pearls. The Lily charm was snugly added in as they are Jeannette’s favourite flower.

Live and Love Crafts is a relatively new blog and shop discovery for me. I love the shop, when my first order arrived all boxed and wrapped up in pink tissue paper I knew it was going to be good. You can pop across here to see the latest challenge and all the beautiful entries. Be warned though, you will get distracted and immersed in all the ace creations.
Thanks for taking a peep

Shabby Chic Wedding Anniversary Card xx

Oh dear, has it really been September 2012 since I last posted!! Well this weekend I managed to make a couple of cards and I will post one of them today and another shortly.

Here is a wedding anniversary card that I made for my friends daughter.

I got all shabby and the whole thing got a little sprinkling of Gesso. Oh and I also tried out some new frantage embossing powders (well they are new to me lol). The gorgeous papers along with the vintage image, pins, shabby seam binding and frantage are from Live & Love Crafts. Lots of shabby chic inspiration from their blog, if you have time take a peak.

A close up of the gorgeous vintage image, I love these images and they make creating cards a breeze. I really enjoyed making this and the card I will post soon is also very similar.

Thanks for coming over and taking a peak
