Be You

I rarely create two page layouts, and this is my second one in the last few weeks! I used the January / February "Happy Together" kit that I bought at Inspired to Scrap.

I let a Unity Stamp inspire me with the title! "Be Unique. Be Unforgettable. Be YOU." Love it!

My girls LOVE taking silly self-portraits! I love when they take silly self-portraits! It's a wonderful surprise to see them all when I upload photos from my camera! I stamped words up the side of the three photos! They're from a PaperTrey Ink stamp set. Love it! Both of these layouts are based on sketches that are posted at the sketch event at Scrap-Friendzy.

I hope you're having a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Sassafras from Crafty Steals!

I am so thrilled to reveal more Crafty Steals projects that I created for Stephanie! She is featuring AMAZING Sassafras goodies today on the Crafty Steals site! What an amazing bargain! Thank you Stephanie for featuring ME again! I had so much fun creating with these amazing products!!

The Sassafras products are so bright, cheerful, and fun! I had a great time pulling out some older photos of the girls! Emily is totally adorable eating her ice cream cone in these photos! Could that patterned paper be any more perfect?

Next, I featured a wonderful photo of Jessica! Jessica walked at nine months! It was truly amazing! I went a little Dr. Seuss on the paper title, but I think it's perfect for this page! The big alphabets are fantastic! The Sassafras blossoms are also just wonderful! They add a lot of personality to my title!

I just laughed when I pulled out this photo of Emily! We had the cozy coupe in out basement, and she was always trying to pull in that BIG lion pillow into the car! Of course, she was also holding onto Elmo! Would you say "3 is a crowd"? I think so! She was a CRAZY DRIVER!!

Next, I created a couple of cards! The patterned papers are just gorgeous!

The Sassafras stamps are really fun too! I stamped a flower trio on the Bungle Jungle papers! Don't you just love Sassafras borders that are on the bottom of the papers?

To use the stamps even more, I did a little stamping on the inside of the cards too! Isn't that fun? RUN to Crafty Steals to snatch up some of these amazing Sassafras deals! You will NOT be disappointed! Crafty Steals and Stephanie are AWESOME!

I hope you're having a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Summer 2010

We're issuing some awesome assignmentz and challengez at Scrap-Friendzy's Scrap University!! This is my challenge for an extra credit assignment called "Dean's List!" Here's what our Scrap U studentz needed to do to make the Dean's List:

  1. Journal as a list!
  2. Since summer is ending . . . include photos from THIS summer!
  3. Include FIVE OR MORE photos!

Not too difficult . . . right!?! My layout features twelve photos, and instead of it being a Summer Top 10, it's a Summer Top 11!! I totally think of Spinal Tap when I say that! Anyway, I love the way this turned out!

I hope you're having a GREAT day! Thanks for stopping by!

September Guest Designer at CraftySteals!

I am the Guest Designer at CraftySteals today! Stephanie is wonderful, and she sent me some Martha Stewart stamps to work with! I created four projects!

First, I used the stamps on this layout! I stamped the border stamps down the side of the layout and under the photo. I stamped the scallop circle down the other side of the layout. I love the way that looks! Then I stamped a plaid circle ring on striped paper and made a journaling circle! I repeatedly stamped a small asterisk/flower stamp in the white strip under the phone. I also stamped a butterfly and a heart, detail cut them, and then added them to the layout. I really love the way this turned out! I love incorporating stamping on my layouts!

Next, I decided to stamp a fun scallop flower trio. The scallop ring and the inner ring are two separate stamps, but I stamped them together. I then used an asterisk/flower stamp and repeatedly stamped it across the card front. Last, I stamped a butterfly, detail cut it, added some rhinestones, and then added it to my card. I love this card! It's bright and fun! It's a happy card!

I decided to try a monochromatic card, and I love the way this turned out! I stamped two butterflies. One is directly on the card front, and the other was stamped on white cardstock, detail cut, and added to the bottom of the card. I stamped the scallop border stamp across the bottom of the card front, and I also stamped it twice on an angle so that it formed a corner design. As you can tell, I really like that asterisk/flower stamp, because I used it again when I stamped a trio on this card front! I'm digging this monochromatic card!

Last, I used one of the elegant flower stamps in a trio, and stamped a simple sentiment under them. I think this card is elegant! I love the way it turned out!

I had a lot of fun creating these projects for Stephanie to feature on the CraftySteals blog! If you check out the blog post, please leave a comment!! Thank you Stephanie for asking me to be one of your guest designers at CraftySteals! It's a thrill! I hope you're having a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Caribbean Beach Resort

Scrap-Friendzy is having an AWESOME Camp-Friendzy competition. Come check it out! It's a weekly challenge competition. This is for the Archery Challenge! For the challenge, we could use any pictures or theme that we wanted. We needed to have at least 3 circle elements and an arrow on the page. Do you see the archery connection!?! :) For the circle elements, we could use circle-shaped cardstock of patterned paper, journal spots, die cuts, stickers, buttons, brads, etc. You just need to have 3 DIFFERENT types of circles! So, my circles are: large pattered paper background, title, journaling spot, and many brads. My arrow is a photo anchor that is on a flower, and it's pointing to my title. Plus, there is a "hidden" arrow on my layout! The large photo has a turn arrow on the pavement! Made me laugh to have a hidden arrow! Fun challenge, and I love the way my layout turned out!

I hope you're having a great day. Stop by at Scrap-Friendzy and play along!! Thanks for stopping by!

5 Things

My awesome blogging friend Chris gave me a gift certificate to use to Papertrey Ink for my birthday! I made a purchase, and then I used my new items to make her a thank you card! This card features one of the stamp sets that I bought, Top Ten. Chris is genuine, kind, very funny, so thoughtful, and extremely generous! I really like the way this turned out, and Chris liked her card too!

I hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Rafiki

I created this layout to challenge the members at Scrap-Friendzy to "get out those stamps and use them on a layout"! This page features cardstock, various papers, one photo, and one sticker. Everything else is stamping! It was actually fun to create a page with a lot of stamping. I mostly used a Stampin' Up set, and I also used some Autumn Leaves acrylic stamp sets. I love this photo of the girls meeting Rafiki at Magic Kingdom! I love the way this page turned out!

I hope you're having a great week so far. Thanks for stopping by!

Some cards!

I haven't made cards for a while now! I created these for a challenge over at Memorable Seasons. We were challenged to use two certain items (ribbon, circles, sparkle, etc.) on our cards, and the sentiment had to be food related.

For this first one, I used the wonderful Mr. Campy by Cosmo Cricket. I love this little marshmallow guy!! I hand cut the heart, and I created the "I love you s'more!!" sentiment on the computer. I love Mr. Campy!!

This second one features a fun Unity stamp set that I purchased. I did a little bit of coloring, added beautiful lime green lace, and a very cool felt flower. I love this!

This card features a $1 acrylic stamp that Dave and the girls got for me. The grill is so cute! I colored it, cut it out with my Coluzzle, and then threaded it on the gingham ribbon. I created the sentiment on the computer. I love the picnic feel to this card!

I used my Coluzzle to create a circle card. I added a Pink Paislee journaling piece to the front, and I added some Stickles to the cherry to give it some sparkle. I also added a Prima. I think it's cute!

I hope you are having a great day! Thanks for stopping by!!

Guest Designer at Scrapbook Steals!!

I am SO EXCITED! Today, I am the guest designer at Scrapbook Steals! I love, love, love Scrapbook Steals! I am a bargain kind of gal, and the bargains at Scrapbook Steals are AMAZING! There is something new every day, and it's always a great deal! So, the amazing Kristy at Scrapbook Steals asked me to be a guest designer for their site and blog! Uhm, yes, please! I was thrilled! I received BOTH Ooh La La collections from My Mind's Eye to work with! Go over to Scrapbook Steals now to snatch up these gorgeous collections!! Here's what I created!

On the first page that I created, I decided to feature an amazing photo of the girls and Princess. I just love this photo! The girls love Princess so very much! I cut the title, heart, and large circle on my Cricut Expression. Isn't the leaf flourish and the ticket totally cool? Then, I created a fun rolled paper flower! I found directions for creating this flower on the Creating Keepsakes blog.

I then created this cute card! The sentiment is from Stampin' Up, and I cut it out with a Nestabilities scallop circle. Aren't these papers gorgeous? I added a Prima, a button, some twine, ric rac, and rhinestones.

Then I worked with the other collection, which I loved just as much!! I used a wonderful photo of my girls on their first day back to school. Aren't they cute? These double-sided papers are just beautiful! I cut my title with my Cricut Expression, and I did some sewing on this layout! The journaling die cut, photo corners, and the ticket are also in the collection as well as the flower centers! Love it!

I also created this card. I love it! I stamped the sentiment, added some sheer ribbon, a Prima, a button, and some twine. I love the way it turned out!

So, what do you think? I had SO MUCH FUN creating with these collections! Beautiful double-sided papers and there is a die cut sheet in each collection! I just love the colors! So, head on over to Scrapbook Steals and check out the amazing deal on these beautiful MME collections! Tell them Carol sent you!! Oh, and if you check out their blog, please leave a comment! Thanks!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday, and thanks for stopping by!

My most wonderful and very talented friend Chris participated in the Scrap and Stamp Blog Hop with an amazing layout that she created based on a sketch. So, I decided to use the sketch too, and I created this layout! The theme is "love". I love my wonderful girls very much, and I love this photo of Jessica and Emily on the last day of school. Do you think they're excited about summer vacation!?! I used a lot of Making Memories Just Chillin'. I love the entire collection! I stamped the title and a couple sentiments on the layout. I think this layout is very fun, and I'm happy with the way it turned out!

I hope you are having a very nice Saturday. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Woofstock

This layout was created based on a sketch challenge over at Paper Popsicles. You can see the sketch on the blog or on the message board. There will be a random draw for a prize for everyone that creates a layout based on this sketch!! I used the September Dogs Gone Wild paper pack from the Paper Popsicles store. The papers are Basic Grey June Bug. I cut the title on my Expression, I added a Tim Holtz word ticket, and I stamped a journaling strip where I wrote "Ultimate Frisbee Catch". Princess did awesome in this event at our local park district during Woofstock! I also added a ton of sewing on my layout! You can click on the layout to see it larger. I love the way this turned out!

I hope you had a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

You're Sweet

I made this card over the weekend using a printable image from Paper Popsicles. It's based on the current sketch for the week four challenge over at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays. I used colored pencils. The gorgeous paper is Making Memories Chloe's Closet. The sentiment is from a $1 acrylic set from Michael's. The lace and button are just from my stash. I also added a Prima and a rhinestone.

Did you have a great weekend? We sure did! Happy Monday, and thanks for stopping by!

Masculine Cards

A fellow message board member at Paper Popsicles asked me to be a guest designer at a new challenge site called Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays. I'm flattered that Rene' wanted me to be her guest designer. So, Rene' asked me to create a masculine card. Normally I struggle with masculine, but once I got started, I just couldn't stop, and I ended up creating three for the challenge.

This is Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo. On all three cards, I used my Tim Holtz texture hammer on the brads. I love smashing them!

This is Colorbok Paper Crush that I got at Target. The card front is actually a journaling sheet from a notebook. I used some ki Memories stamps on the front, and I sewed on some buttons.

This is Get Happy by Cosmo Cricket. I just LOVE the twill ribbon. It's just gorgeous. I did lots of sewing on this one! I sewed in a circle! Cool, huh!?!

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Layouts for Baby!

One of the ladies at Paper Popsicles is having a baby, and they decided to throw her an online "baby shower". Our contribution was to make her some 12x12 layouts that she could use after the baby was born. I decided to make two layouts for her . . . Halloween and Christmas.

I went with a cutesy approach to the Halloween layout. I softened it up with some flowers, I added a journaling circle, and I sewed on some buttons. I really like the "What a BOOtiful baby!" subtitle.

For the Christmas layout, I used Cosmo Cricket, and I added a subtitle that says, "Good things come in small packages!" I added two tags for journaling. I really love these traditional colors.

It was harder than I thought it would be to design layouts for someone else! However, I'm happy with the way they turned out. Hopefully she'll find them easy to use! I hope you're having a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Being Together

This page is for a challenge at Paper Popsicles. First off, we needed to post a summer photo. I posted this family photo. Once everyone had their photos posted, we got the layout challenge instructions, which were to include the following on our layout of the photo that we posted:
  • yellow, blue and brown cardstock
  • 3 buttons
  • 4 different patterned papers
  • journaling
  • the word "blast" in the title
  • 3 stickers

I struggled the most with using the word "blast"! However, I made it work, and I love the result! This page is made with an August kit from the Paper Popsicles store. I love the Breaking Free My Mind's Eye papers! I cut the title and subtitle on my Cricut Expression. My journaling block was created with Autumn Leaves acrylic stamps. I added silk Primas, buttons, a Tim Holtz ticket, and 7 gypsies stickers. I also did a lot of distressing and used two border punches! This was a fun page to create, and I love it! You can click on it to see it larger!

I hope you're having a GREAT day! As always, thanks for stopping by!

Relax!

It's been a LONG TIME since I've played along over at 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks, but I did create a layout for their current sketch!

I used a few pieces from my NEW Studio Calico kit for this layout. The patterned paper is Basic Grey June Bug, the letter stickers are Sassafras, the flowers are Primas, and I sewed on some buttons. I stamped a couple of Autumn Leaves swirl stamps in two corners of the page. The journaling was done on the computer and then cut into strips. I cut the large circle scallop on my Expression.

This is Sketch #31 over at 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks. Fun sketch, isn't it?

I hope you're having a great Saturday!! It's so hot and humid here today! I mean REALLY humid . . . yuck! I'll be staying inside in the A/C!! Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Layout and Card From Scraps

Here's a layout that I made last night. I love it!

Jessica just turned 12, but this is her on her 11th birthday. I used We R papers, die cuts, and chipboard letters. You gotta love those paper stacks you get for 50% off at Michael's! Anyway, this is for a challenge over on the Paper Popsicles forum. It was a "soup" layout, and it needed to include: ribbon, stamp, journaling, recycle, flower, sewing, and heart. Got it all, and I love it all! You can click on the layout to see it larger.

Another challenge on the site was to create a layout and then use your scraps to make a card. So, I kinda cheated on this one, because I combined the challenges. Well, there's just not enough time in the day, is there? Love this too!

I hope you're having a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday!

Here is the birthday card that I made for Jessica's 12th birthday!

It's based on a challenge at Moxie Fab World. It's a bag lady challenge, and Cath posted photos of various bags, and letting them inspire me, I created the above card. Jessica LOVED it! I did a ton of sewing on the card! I added the ribbon to mimic the straps on the purse. The ribbon charm represents the purse's hardware. I think this is a fun card!

I had all of the scraps sitting on my desk, so I created a second one. I wanted to put the squares on an angle just like the bag! I love this one too!

This is the bag that inspired me! Fun challenge! Jessica also had a very fun birthday!! Where does the time go?

I hope you had a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by!
