Catered Crop Top 12 Challenge

Top 12 for 2012
Hello All,

I ran across a challenge today at Catered Crop - the challenge is to pick your top 12 creations for 2012.

I had wanted to do this at the beginning of the year, several of the blogs I follow did something like this at the end of the December or on January 1st.  Some chose cards they made themselves, other blogs chose cards made by other cardmakers in the past year - both fabulous ideas.  I felt like I missed my opportunity though - until I ran across this challenge.  I guess it's not too late.

Anyway, the challenge is to choose your top 12 cards from 2012 so here goes...
January 2012 - Mischelle Smith Designs "Cheer Up"
Mixed coloring method - colored with Copics
blue chalk background, sponged ink distressing

February 2012 - Mischelle Smith Designs "Must Be Love"
 My sweet husband's 2012 Valentine

March 2012 - Little Miss Muffet "Agent Cupcake Descending"
My debut card for Little Miss Muffet, still love the twine rope.
April 2012 - TAC "New Creation"
 Lots of stitching and layering

May 2012 - TAC "America I Love"
Love the mix of dry embossing on this one, then inked over it.

June 2012 - TAC "Liberty and Ancient Map"
I had these stamps for over 8 years
and finally used the background in 2012!

A great technique I saw on a blog -
a printed picture on canvas textured cardstock.
My roses were beautiful in 2012.

July 2012 - Raisin Boat "Lawn King"
Fun with a grass die cut

 August 2012 - Nina B "Stitched Flowers"
One of my favorite techniques - Paper Piecing

September 2012 - Mabelle RO "Sweet as Pie"
Clean and Simple

October 2012 - Mabelle RO "Blessed Harvest"
This card just fell together,
practically by itself, when I saw the sketch.

November 2012 - Die-Namics Sunflower
These dies are so cool!

December 2012 - Little Miss Muffet "Gavin in Winter"
 Great sketch with skewed elements
which pushed me away of my norm (straight lines).

I tried to pick my favorite card from each month - it was really hard to narrow it down.  In the end, I chose creations that had a neat technique, I tried something new or there was something clever about them.   I ended up with 13 - oops.

I would love to see your top cards from 2012.  You have until February 2nd to get a blog post or a picture gallery together.  See the details HERE - there's loads of inspiration for 2013 all in one place!

Hope you are inspired!

That's Fabulous - Nativity

Today, I have this years Christmas card.  We sent this one to the majority of our friends and family.  The Nativity image is a free digi Mischelle posted on her Facebook page.  I also used a freebie digi paper TAC offered once upon a time.

So, this was a super easy card to mass produce, all digital!  I made around 60 of this one the day after Thanksgiving.  I even used paper I had already, which is a huge victory for me.

I printed the Nativity scene on PTI Fine Linen cardstock.  The matting is TAC ivory cardstock and base card is PTI Fine Linen. The patterned paper is a digital paper printed on standard ivory computer paper.  Then, I used the same ivory computer paper for the inner insert.

The sentiment for this card is the same as die cut Nativity card I posted earlier this week.  These were the 2 cards I made this year to send out.

“For unto you is born this day
in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:11

“For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world, but in order that the world
might be saved through him.”

John 3:17

--------------

May your Christmas be a time
to reflect on the simplicity of His birth
and the magnitude of His purpose.

Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year!

Little Miss Muffet - Royal Decree

Happy Thursday!

There is a new rubber stamp release at Little Miss Muffet today.  These images are available in real red rubber not digi!  I made a super simple card today and used "Royal Decree".

The patterned cardstock is TAC Maggie available at RRD.  The ribbon is PTI Autumn Rose Saddle Stitch.  The cardstock is PTI Fine Linen and Bazzill Palo Verde.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copics (V06, V15, YR21, YR23, YR24).  The pearl accents are white gel pen.

We are mid-challenge at Little Miss Muffet.  The theme is Halloween colors - orange, green, purple and black.  Although, if you use a LMM image anything goes and you can enter more than once.

Be sure to swing by Little Miss Muffet Challenge Blog to see all the new releases and design team inspiration.

Fabulous Friday - Darling Josephine

Happy Friday!

It is sure to fabulous right?  It's Friday.   Today, I have a birthday card using a TAC set from the 2011 catalog called Darling.  {Hoping it will be available again soon}.  I got this set because the image looks so much like my friend Tina.  Her birthday was Tuesday and this is her birthday card.

I also used a digi paper called Josephine from Mischelle's esty site Hello That's Fabulous.  So many great patterned papers in this set!
The cardstock is Bazzill Flintsone (base card) and Date Swirl.  I stamped the image on white Xpress It cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  I cut it out and paper pieced it on the light gray tag (Nestabilities 18).

I used a VersaMark pen to trace the outer edge of the tag and create an intermediate shade of gray for additional contrast.  Then added a pewter eyelet and the light blue ribbon is from the TAC Maggie collection.

Copic Colors: E00, E04, E11, E13, E21, E31, E33, E35, E37, R01, R02, N1, B91

Hello That's Fabulous: Must Be Love

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is the card I made for Mark.  I hope he likes it as much as I do {I'm sure he will}.  This is a digi called "Must be Love" from Hello That's Fabulous.  This image IS Fabulous!  Love the vintage look.  It was so fun to color too.

This is a set of two digis.  The image and the sentiment "I'm so glad you're mine!"  I combined the two in Word before I printed it out.  Digis are so great that way.

The image is colored with Copic markers.  The sky is chalk to give that airy feel.  Then I aged the edges using a sponge and Palette Cognac and Burnt Umber ink.
The cardstock is PTI Kraft, Bazzill Mocha Divine.  The designer paper is from the same Valentine K&Company paper pack I used for yesterday's Valentine.

Copic Colors: E00, E09, E11, E13, E21, E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, YG99, B41, B45, B37, W2, W3, W4, R35, R46, R59

Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Mabelle RO: Valentine's Little Boy

Happy Monday!

I have a Mabelle RO image to show today.  This is Valentine's Little Boy.  I have been thinking about this little boy for awhile.  When I got this awesome new digi paper called Layton it all came together.

I LOVE the colors of Layton. It is new and available through an esty site called Hello That's Fabulous. Mischelle has some awesome digis as well. I'm hoping to add some of them to my collection soon.  Here is what the collection looks like - 9 patterns plus tags!

I pulled all the colors from the papers and added red for a punch of color.  When I was coloring this image - Mark said is that me giving you flowers?  Aww - how sweet.  I was thinking the same thing.
Supplies -- MRO Valentine's Little Boy, "with love" sentinment from TAC For My Tweetie, Cardstock: Bazzill Crimson and Flintstone, PTI Ripe Avocado, Copic X-Press It, Digi paper Layton, Copic markers.
