Good morning blogworld

Apologies for this post being a tad late!  I've got so many other things going on outside of blogland right now that I'm not a very good blogger.

But better late than never - drum roll please!!  I've managed to get a winner from my comments for my bundle of stamps from the MAWTT birthday bash blog hop.

So without further ado - congratulations Meg! You win the stamps in the picture on my blog.

Happy Birthday with added bunting!!

Good morning blogworld,

It's a special day over at MAWTT where it's our 5th birthday (or as close as can be got!).  Now I know I'm having a major Mojo crisis but I couldn't let this go without joining in on the massive blog hop our wonderful boss lady Hazel has arranged!

So the hostess for this week is the lovely Susan and the theme for the challenge is buttons, bunting and birthdays - so any combination of any of those three things is acceptable!

With this challenge, there is a bloghop going on with a massive amount of prizes up for grabs - pop on over to the blog the see all the goodies on offer!

You can do either the challenge or the hop or both if you like - but you have to follow the theme or the rules for which ever one you are entering.
Blog Hop Rules.

To be eligible for the Prizes you must visit all the blogs and collect a letter from each.  Then email Hazel at didosdesigns@yahoo.com with the word you have made with Blog Hop Word in the Subject Line.  You must send the word to us to be in with a chance of winning!!!!

Each DT Member will announce their winner on their own blog from the comments.

So you should have arrived with me from Jessie and I'm last on the list!  But if you haven't arrived here in the correct order you should pop back to the challenge blog and the full list is there for you to work your way through.

This is my card for this challenge, as you may have guessed it was for a special little persons birthday last weekend!

I used:

Digi image:
coloured with my Copics
computer generated sentiment

Papers:
BoBunny - Ambrosia Collection

Dies:
LaLa Lands banner

Anything else?
Ribbon, pins, button from my stuff

So not only can you win a prize on the challenge blog - for completing the hop - I've also got an added prize on my blog for one lucky person who leaves me a comment.  The prize is these stamps:

So any guesses yet which letter is mine??

Happy hopping,

Sarah

No image!

Good morning blogworld,

Apologies for the lateness of this post - with SWMbO off on school hols I'm all turned about with what day it is and completely forgot that today is Thursday.

So as I now know it is Thursday I also know it's a new challenge over at MAWTT and our lovely Teamie Carole is the hostess this week.  She's chosen the theme of 'No Image' - instead the focal point should be a sentiment or flowers.

I went for sentiment as my focus but, as the card was made in a rush the other evening, I'm not over pleased with it.  It did feel very odd not colouring anything but it was a very quick make and I think when I have more time I'll have a go at this again.

So here's the card, I've no idea why it looks so wonky - it's not in real life:

I used:

Papers:
Papermania - Birthday papers and sentiment

Dies:
Die-namics - Open Scallop & Stacking Stars

And that's it folks.

I've nothing else to post for the rest of this week and can't see me having time to blog before SHMbO goes back to school on Monday.  So I'll wish you all a good rest of week and weekend and I'll see you next week sometime.

I heard it on the radio

Good morning blogworld,

Ain't it wonderful how an ickle bit of sunshine perks up the old mind and body?  Been lovely, tho still a bit chilly here, yesterday and today looks no different!  According to the weather man we are set for a fine few days and weekend.

Not that I'll see much of it on Sunday - I'm off to the local Sincerely Yours papercraft show!  Give us a whoop then!!  Bit of a begger that they've moved slightly further away from me, but still what's an extra 30 mins when there's papercraft at the end of it!!!

Right and now I've got that jollity out of the system - onto business.

Today sees a new challenge over at MAWTT and this week our lovely boss lady Hazel's theme is 'I heard it on the radio' so - songs please: anything catchy is just what we are looking for.

There's a great prize on offer and this is my offering, based on ' In the summertime - Mungo Jerry' here's the link if you don't know it.  And yes it was out before I was born (only just!!!) but I don't care - I remember my parents listening to it and I don't object to listening to stuff from before I was born - it's some of the stuff in the charts now that I don't get!!!  Ooooh listen to me - I'm getting boring and middle aged - oh my word, noooo I'm becoming my parents. Run away and hide Sarah, quickly ;-)

It's a bit busier than my latest crop of card - but, somehow, I quite like it:

I used:

Stamp:
The Greeting Farm - Miss Anya; Rain Snow Shine
coloured with my Copics

Papers:
BoBunny - C'est La Vie

Wot no dies??!!

Anything else?
We Are Memory Keepers - chipboard embellies
bit of ribbon from me stuff

And that's it folks - apart from saying I'm looking forward to this challenge.  I loooove cheesy, happy songs so I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

See you soon,

Sarah

Oh no!!

Good morning blogworld,

Finally I'm slowly getting through my commenting - so you should see me popping up at some point soon on your blogs.  Taken me a long time though, hasn't it!!

Onto business - As today is Thursday and it's time for a new challenge over at MAWTT.  It's Team A's turn to provide the inspiration this week and the lovely Kelly is the hostess.  Kelly picked the theme of Pretty Pastels this week, ummm not something that I go to naturally, hence the 'oh no!' reaction!

Still I got there in the end and this is what I made:

Front shot:

Close up:

I used:

Stamp:
My Favorite Things - Birthday Balloon Jolinne
coloured with my Copics for the skin and Prismacolour pencils for the rest

Lili of the Valley - sentiment

Dies:
La-La Land banner

Papers:
Just a scrap from my box.

Anything else?
Just some string behind the balloons - I had a bit of a technical issue when cutting out!

Got a busy day today - going to get a cut and colour at the hairdressers this morning, taking SWMbO to her swimming lesson this evening.  Then we've got our first paying guests of the year in the holiday cottage on Friday - so got to get meself in cleaning mode and go tidy!

See you soon,

Sarah

Everything's happy!

Good morning blogworld,

I'm seriously behind with commenting now - and I probably won't catch up until the daughter goes back to school next week.  So apologies all round for neglecting everyone, promise it's nothing personal!

So with that apology out of the way, here's my card for the new challenge over at MAWTT - the challenge, set this week by our lovely Teamie Judith, is to have the word 'happy' on your project'.

As I'm strapped for time right now - I went the easy route chose 'Happy Birthday' and made a very simple card.

Here you go:
Front shot:

Her close up:

I used:

Digi Stamp:
Little Miss Mufet - Sugar'n Spice Dolls Pepermint
coloured with my Copics

Papers:
Papermania - Happy Birthday (green spots)

Well that's it folks apart from to say hope you all have a lovely Easter and see you next week.

Sarah

Ahhh, and the jigsaw hunt went very well - we had a grand haul of 6 jigsaws and 4 games all for less than 10 squid!  Not bad, eh!

So sweet!

Good morning blogworld,

It's time for a new challenge over at MAWTT today and guess who's in charge this week?  Well lookey here - it's lil' ole me!

So the theme I choose is 'So Sweet' - basically I'd like to see either a food themed project or something super sweet (if you've no food related stuff!).

I also put together a little prize package:

This is what I came up with:

I used:

Digi image:
All Dressed Up Image - A Time To Give
coloured with my Copics (and my grey ProMarkers).
Sentiment - Lili of the Valley

Anything else?
Pearls from my stuff

And that's it folks!

It's a bit on the simple side, I know, but I thought the image needed to be big to be appreciated - and then I couldn't think what else to do.

Hope you find some time to come join in!

See you soon,

Sarah

PS - You all are quite right - my floors are now super clean.  How I lived without the steam mop I don't know - so simple and quick!!!

Such a pretty photo

Good morning blogworld,

So here we are it's Thursday again, and my last DT post of the week.  Don't think I'll be able to squeeze in another card before the end of the week, but you never know - I suppose I could always leave the hoovering!!!

And, as it's Thursday it's a new challenge over at MAWTT,our hostess this week is the wonderful Pami who has picked a photo inspiration challenge for us.

This is the photo:

and this is my card:

Front shot:

Her close up:

Another one that looked better in my head than in reality and my colours have not really matched the image either.  Hmmmm, a hide it card methinks!

My teamies have done much, much better than me so please pop over and see, you'll be well impressed - I promise.

I used:

Stamp:
Lili of the Valley - Pretty Bouquet
coloured with my Copics
Sentiment also Lili of the Valley - Sentiment Tags

Wot no dies?
Lots of corner punching tho

Papers:
Papermania - Blueberry Hill

Anything else?
Viva Pearl Pen
Wild Orchid Crafts - flowers
Pearls - from my stuff

That's all folks - I'm about all talked out and to be honest the most exciting thing that happened this week is that one of the cats has had to go to the vets.  It would appear that he (the cat not the vet) has a gum disease and so, after about 50 quids worth of blood tests to check all is OK, he's back in next week to have some teeth taken out.

Hope y'all have a lovely weekend and see you next week.

Sarah

Just a little different!

Hello blogworld,

So this one is a bit different to my last few cards - blame it on the photo inspiration!

Today we are Thursday, anyone notice?, therefore it's a new challenge over at MAWTT.  This week the lovely Debs is hosting and she has picked the theme 'Moody Blues' and (as hinted at above) a photo inspiration.

Look at this lovely piccie:

So I saw this and thought, aha blue, lace, flowers, pretty - and this is what I came up with:

Front shot:

Side view:

I used:

Stamp:
Sugar Nellie - Leanne Ellis : Be One Traveller (but I can't find it in the shop)
coloured with my Copics (and Pros for the greys)
Fiskars - sentiment
Lili of the Valley - corner swirls

Papers:
Very old stuff from Craftwork Cards

Everything else?
Wild Orchid Crafts - flowers
Lace, tulle and charm - from stash
Create and Craft - bling swirls

Darned card will cost a fortune to post it's so loaded!  This is a hand delivery for sure!! I've no idea why I went a bit over the top with it - it just seemed to evolve.

OK then, why not pop on over to the challenge blog, have a little peep at the gorgeous cards my Teamies have come up with and pop a card in while you're there.

Have a nice weekend and I'll see you all next week.  Oh, before I go, this posting every day lark is difficult on keeping up with commenting - I'm behind!  I will catch up with you all over the weekend,

Cheerio

Vellum????

Good morning blogworld,

It's time for a new challenge over at MAWTT our lovely teamie Wendy has chosen the theme 'use parchment or vellum'.  Hmmmm, welll, here's the thing - I don't have any parchment and I haven't used vellum for years!!!!!

So, for me, this was quite a challenge - and then when you see what my teamies have created, I've not been that creative!  I'm sure there are lots of you out there who will do so much better!

Anyway - this is my card:

The Front shot:

Trying to show the vellum on the butterfly:

Another angle (and I forgot the Close Up shot!):

Here kitty, kitty!!!

Hello blogworld,

It does seem like a long time since I posted for MAWTT - it's because I volunteered to change teams and so had to wait two weeks before joining in again with a challenge.  But, as they saying goes, all good things come to those who wait and here I am!

The theme this week has been chosen by our lovely Teamie Janice and she's picked 'cats' - so anything with our furry friends on please!  This great new Hampton Art Stamps Wooden stamp called Kitty Tiles is the prize for the winner.

And so onto the old card.  Now Mr (Mrs, Miss, Ms?) Mojo is still away on their jollies and so this is a very simple card.

The Front Shot:

The Close Up:

The Arty Farty:

I used:
Digi stamp:
From Pollycraft (sadly closed down)
coloured with my ProMarkers

No dies
No papers

Anything else?
3d gloss on the eyes
We Are Memory Keepers - Whiteout - for the chipboard sentiment

Before I go, Janice also asked for piccies of your putty cats, if you don't object - so to start us off here's my rouges gallery:

Oscar loves climbing in things - boxes or cupboards or cars or even prams!

This is Tinker:

Tinker had kittens - these are the two of them we kept:

Ewok:

Worried (she was called that as a kitten and it's stuck as she is a very worried cat!!)

I'm really going to enjoy wandering around blogworld with this one!

See ya soon,

Sarah

Thursday, 2 January 2014

So,

2014, eh!

First proper post of the New Year and it's for the new challenge over at MAWTT - this week the lovely Claire has picked the theme which is 'Thank You'.

It really should be Emily's (my daughter also known as She Who Must be Obeyed (SWMbO)) name under this card.  I do like her to do thank you cards for Christmas and Birthday -so she picked the image, I printed it out and she put the glitter on the snowman.  Simple, quick and easy for a 6 1/2 year old to do.

So whaddya think then?

How many of us have New Year Resolutions then.  I know I have - shall we see how many I can keep, hmmm?

Gotta dash, got a poorly daughter calling - will be back to finish off later.

It's a Winter Wonderland

well no not here it's not, not really - but over at MAWTT it is the theme of our challenge this week.

Hi blogworld,

So we would like to see snowy / icy / wintry scenes please.

Shall I tell you the tale of woe behind these cards, or shall I just pop them up and let you admire them in blissful ignorance?

Hmmmm, well you all know how much I love to share - so I shall tell you the tale of woe.  These were meant to be my batch cards for Christmas.  I made these two and showed them to The Hubby - well he smirked!! He then denied the smirking incident and said they were 'fine' but by that point it 'twas too late and I would rather go buy cards than use them.

I have since created other creations and these are consigned to the 'acquaintances' pile.

Here see what you think:

I used:

Sentiment stamps:
Wild Rose Studio

Various Memory Box Dies

Anything else?
Black card - shiny star - white embossing powder

Did you enjoy my tale of woe?  I do hope so - I do strive so to entertain.

Currently I am at SWMbO's school Christingle service.  I will no doubt be back soon,

Sarah

I wonder if you guessed the theme I choose?  Well it's 'Girly - but no pink'!  My bloggy friend Susan is going to love this one!!!

So here you go - this is my card:

Any furry friends?

Hi blogworld,

You'll be glad to hear (I'm sure!) that I am nearing the end of painting duties.  Second coat on the two end walls today and then the only painting left to do is woodwork, which there is still a lot of but nowhere near as much as those walls and darn ceiling (5 coats on that ceiling - just goes to show you should buy good quality paint.  Which we did not!!!).

Anyway I'm supposed to be here showing you my DT card for Moving Along With the Times not going on about our D.I.Y. efforts!

This week my Teamie Tammy has chosen the theme of 'Furry Friends' - so we'd like to see animals on your cards / projects please.

You would not believe how tortuous this card was to make!  It started out with loads of layers and patterned paper - but ended up as you see it now, very little paper and no embellies.  I don't know what I did (wrong papers, wrong colour card used to matt the layers, wrong Mojo!!) but it just didn't work - so I took it apart and started again.

Here have a looksie.

The front shot:

The close up:

The Arty Farty:

I used:

Stamp:
Lili of the Valley - Milly Cuddle Time
coloured with my ProMarkers

Dies:
Nestie (for the image)

Papers:
Not sure - it's a scrap

Anything else?
Frame from my stuff
We Are Memory Keepers - White Out collection; rub-on sentiment

Ha, and just as I'd finished it I decided to add the rub-on sentiment - well I almost went through the card rubbing on!!  It still looks rather dodgy in real life!

Hope you get a chance to come join in and will be back at the weekend probably with more D.I.Y. in progress pictures.

See you soon,
Sarah

Wot no.......

papers?

Hi blogworld,

Well this one took a while to work out!  It's Thursday which means a new challenge over at Moving Along With The Times, our Teamie Sue picked the theme of 'No Design Papers'.  Arrrggghhh!!!  How can I cope without my PP's??  I did it but I'm not over pleased with how this one came out - it doesn't look like it did in my head, but I'm there!

Here you go - see what you think.
The Front Shot:

The Close Up:

The Arty Farty (trying to show here that I bent the die-cut out for a bit of depth):

I used:

Just a pen for the doodling

I'm sure that everyone out there will have much better ideas than me - I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Noooooo

I'm doing this post with my eyes shut as I refuse to have anything to do with Christmas this early!

Good morning blogworld,

It's a new challenge over at Moving Along with the Times and this week we want to see (look away now) your 'Christmas Cuties' creations.

Nooooooo - it's not Christmas yet, that's months away, isn't it??  Well it is for me - and it will be for at least two months yet.

Anyway, aren't I doing good typing with my eyes shut!, here's the card:

Front shot:

His close up (trying to show the glitter on his hat, only succeeding in showing how I got chalk on his hat instead!):

I used:

Digi stamp:
Pollycraft - Maurice Christmas socks
(but you'll never find it it was a freebie three? years ago)
Am sooo sooo sooo sad that Paula is shutting up shop again - I will miss Pollycraft - but there are bargains to be had!
coloured with me Promarkers and background chalked.

Dies:
Go Kreate
Die-namics - for the border

Papers:
Bo Bunny (probably - I will check)

Anything else?
Twine and chipboard deer - from my stuff.

So who else fancies making a Christmas Cutie then?  You know you want to, don't you!!  Come join us over at MAWTT and feel Christmassy - you'll make me feel better ;-)

Sarah

PS - You might not see me much next week, it's half-term already and SHMbO is off which seriously cuts into my crafting time.  Back to normal the week after.

A challenge, or two:

Sketch n Stash - Challenge 123

What a 'mare!!

Hi blogworld,

Well just as I decide that I'm going to get back into cards and blogging - the internet goes and disappears on us!  Not only the internet but the phone as well!!

What a quiet couple of days we've had - just goes to show how much I rely on the internet to waste my time :-)  Instead I read a bit more, paid a bit more attention to my Emily and actually talked to hubby - shock horror!!!

Of course hubby was completely lost without the 'net - he had to actually get on with something!!!

Anyway we're back now and I'm here, although belatedly, with my post for the new Moving Along With the Times challenge - we've all had a long summer break and are now back, refreshed for our challenges.  We've lost a few Teamies along the way, but had some new people join us - so why not pop on over to the blog and have a lookse - we've also got a very easy challenge this time: it's 'Anything Goes'.

So here is my card:

Front shot:

The close up:

The Arty Farty shot:

Hmmm, I'm trying pleats again - tho I don't think with a huge amount of success!!

I used:

Digi stamp:
Pollycraft - Lil' Dumplings - Fleur
coloured with my Promarkers

Papers:
First Edition - Blank Canvas and J'Adore

Dies:
Nesties
Die-namics - for the corners
Memory Box - for the fancy edge

Anything else?
Chipboard embellishments from my stuff

Would love to see you over at MAWTT!

Sarah

A challenge or two:

Pollycraft - Challenge 8: Birthday Girls

I love Promarkers: Challenge 188 - Songs.  Now I was thinking I'd go with I wish I was punk rocker with flowers in my hair by Sandi Thom but while I was looking for a clip to link up with I found this little song (The Lumineers - Flowers in Your hair) and I thought is was a beautiful song!  So I hope I'm not breaking rules by saying either song please ;-)

Inky Chicks: Challenge #14 - use two different die-cuts.

PS - We grew pumpkins for the first time this year - look at what we got! Don't know if they're completely ripe but they fell off the plants, not picked, so down to the house they came. Now any recipes for pumpkins, anyone???  All suggestions gratefully received.
