Guest Designer - Marsha Drain

It's time for some guest designer inspiration, and today we're sharing the work of Marsha Drain of Gramma's Room. Marsha not only made an adorable birthday card, but she also included directions and a template for creating a step card! I love the bright, happy colors of her card, and especially like her fun design.

Here's what Marsha says about putting this cheerful card together:
"Most of the time I do my cutting with a guillotine type cutter but in order to make this side step card, I pulled out my smaller cutter .  I started with a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of orange cardstock.  After cutting the two lines as per the template, I moved the card to my Scor pal and scored all the lines.  After making the base and adhering the dotted patterned paper with Tombow Adhesive tape, the really run part began - stamping the cake, the cluster of balloons and coloring them.  Both the cake and the balloons are cut out with coordinating dies.  The large balloons were cut from cardstock that matched the Copic colors I used on the small balloons.  The sentiment piece is cut with a Spellbinder circle die and backed with a Spellbinder scalloped circle die. After coloring the cake, I added liquid pearls to the dots on the cake
All the balloons and sentiment are adhered to the steps with Scor Tape.  The last step was to pop the cake up with dimension foam tape."

Products used:
Paper Sweeties stamps and dies
Stamploration balloon dies
Spellbinder circle and scallop circle dies
Scor pal
Copics

Far Out

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a super fun card I created that includes a galaxy background and an action wobble spring!  Instead of starting off with white watercolor paper, I decided to use a piece of dark blue card stock as the base......

Here's how I created my background:

Next I:
  • added some Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges
  • added some white paint spatters to resemble stars
  • stamped several images from the Changito in Space (Stampendous) stamp set on watercolor paper
  • colored the images with Prismacolor pencils and used q-tips and baby oil to blend the color

  • I fussy cut and popped up the rocket with mounting tape
  • Using a circle punch, I cut out the monkey astronaut and added dimension to my card front by popped him up with an Action Wobble Spring
  • I added some accents and the sentiment by stamping in Versamark watermark ink and adding white embossing powder
  • I stamped a few more images inside the card and colored them as above

Now it's your turn to share your creativity with us! Stop by our CURRENT CHALLENGE and link up any project that includes a product or two from companies in the Cropstop store! Hope to see you there!

Guest Designer - Marsha Drain

Time for another guest design spot here on the Cropstop blog. Today we're sharing another lovely card created by Marsha Drain of Gramma's Room. This time Marsha created a bright and cheery birthday card in pinks using designer paper as one of her main elements.

Marsha says: "The sparkly embossed flowers are part of the designer paper but I added Liquid Pearl centers. I added Stickles to the little bow die cuts on either side of the paper flower.  I used scor tape to adhere the two papers (embossed spots and dots and the designer paper) together as well as under the ribbon. I used Bow Easy, to create the bow and the  Cuttlebug Spots and Dots Embossing Folder for the embossed top."

Thanks for sharing your talent with us, Marsha!
