Monkeying Around

Good morning all!
I can't get in to my craft room at the mo so I've been doing a
bit of much needed mooching around to sort out a few things on my laptop!
I've come across quite a few cards I haven't shared with you.
This is one of them!

I am friendly with the family who run our local Chinese takeaway
& I make them a card every Chinese New Year!
This year, is the year of the monkey!
These cute little monkeys were cut using a Tattered Lace die.
The card base is DL size Linen embossed CS.
I printed the sentiment panels & matted & layered.
The card still has pride of place in the shop, which makes me giggle
every time I go in!
Thanks for popping in today!

I'd like to enter this card in a couple of challenges:

Happy Chinese New Year

Good Morning all,
I'm back with another card to share with you!
This one is for Chinese New Year!
So to everyone who celebrates,
"Gong Hay Fat Choy!"
I'm hoping it's okay as I normally use traditional red & gold but
I just really wanted to play with these colours this time!

2015 is the Year of the Sheep (or Goat) & I thought this little pair
Even better, you can pick them up for free at the moment!
I used my promarkers to shade them a little, then cut out with a Spellbinders
die then inked with distress ink whilst still in the die.
The sentiment was done on the PC.
The gorgeous papers came my way when a DT friend Sammy, was having a
blog candy giveaway, so I'm sorry I can't tell you where they are from!

I finished off the card with three buttons from my stash.
I didn't have time to decorate the inside as I wanted to catch the light,
but I have done so now!
Thanks for popping by, I hope you like my little creation!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Good Morning lovely bloggers! I hope you're all well!
Gung Hay Fat Choy!
Happy New Year!
I just stopped by to share another Chinese New Year card with you!
Today is officially Chinese New Year!
2013 is the Year Of The Water Snake!
I know, he's in a tree but he's suspended over water!
Check out the koi carp & the water lillies on the background paper!

I used the image Ringo from Just Inklined.

I coloured Ringo with Promarkers & Flexmarkers & a touch of liqiud chalk in the sky,
cut him out with a Circle Nestie then inked the edges with a liquid chalk inkpad.
I added a scalloped circle matt & some punched leaves which I embossed
to give some dimendsion.
The papers are from my stash, not sure who they are by as
they have been there for a very long time!
I added some twine & 3 orental coin charms!
The sentiment was made on my pc & attached with foam tape.

I decorted the inside just a little too! The punched border
was done using a Matha Stewart border punch.

Just Inklined To Hop Out Of The Box

Good Morning Bloggers! I hope you're well!
Welcome to the February Just Inklined Blog Hop

Our host this month is the lovely Joyce who has chosen the theme
"Out Of The Box"
If you are already hopping, you'll have come via the beautiful & amazingly
talented Karen J. where I'm sure you were treated to something amazingly beautiful
Here's my creation!

I've gone for a super fun image called "Ringo"from Just Inklined
as you can see his forked tongue has been left
 "Out Of The Box"
I coloured Ringo up with Promarkers then cut him out with a nestie.
For those of you who don't know, it's Chinese New Year soon.
2013 is The Year Of The Snake.
I did a bit of research & discovered it can also be the
Black Snake & as black symbolises water, it's the year of
the Black Water Snake!
My  snake is in a tree above the swirly paper which symbolises water!
Now if you're in a hurry to hop on, your next stop is the awesomely talented
Tammy who I'm sure won't disappoint!
Before you do go though........ don't forget to leave some love at all the stops
as we have a prize for one or two lucky people who comment!

Here's a closer look!

I added some Chinese coin charms & twine from my stash

Here's the inside of my card! you can see the paper a bit better here!
It's by Papermania & is from the Licorice Sherbet Capsule Collection

Enter The Dragon

Hi folks,
I have a little Chinese New Year card to share with you today!
I had to make a couple of these, but as they were for totally unrelated parties,
I was able to use the same design for both!
 A great time saver!

I trawled the internet looking for a suitable image to use but I just
couldn't find anything I liked.
Then I remembered Dilbert Dragon from The Crafty Pad Designs!
He's a cute little dragon is he not!!!
I didn't intend to go cute but there you have it!
I couldn't stop singing "Puff The Magic Dragon" as I was making these!
I made the sentiment up in my graphics programme
then added Dilbert to the centre.
The base card was cut using a Grand Scalloped Circle Nestie which I
then scored & folded in half!

I cut a smaller scalloped circle of gold mirror card with a regular nestie.
I cut Dilbert out using an Inverted Scallop nestie & inked the edges.
The image was coloured with Promarkers & I added a touch of Glamour Dust
to Dilberts wings &  horns!
I added a couple of Oriental Peel off's which are supposed to represent water,
also a feature of this Chinese New Year I am informed.
The numbers were die cut but I can't remember the name of the alphabet!
Thanks for stopping by!
