To say "Tribal" design is here to stay is quite the understatement. Ethnic and tribal influences have existed in art, textiles, furniture and fashion for centuries. These motifs have always been the perfect way to add some design interest to an otherwise bland space, or wardrobe for that matter! Well The Habitat Shop in NYC has gotten this not so temporary trend right, with their fantastic array of tribal and ethnic inspired merchandise from clothing and bags, to home accessories and jewelry - they are a must see if you're in NYC!

Love it! - Braided picture frame
I'm pretty picky when it comes to picture frames. I tend not to like frames that are too ornate, eye catching or thick. It's really more about the photo and while a decorative border would be lovely, one that is neutral in color, monochromatic and one continuous pattern makes for a great back drop. This gold-plated, braided frame by L'Objet gives you just enough design without being overpowering and instead enhances the most memorable of photos!

Love it! - Beaded frames
For a last minute Mother's Day gift, I chose a store that most have access to, and one of my faves, Pottery Barn. Always a classic, a silver-plated beaded frame will make any childhood photo look like an heirloom to be cherished through the years. Print your photo in black and white or in brown-sepia for an added touch of timelessness. By doing so the photo will be neutral and subtle - complimenting, not competing with the detailing of such a feminine frame.

Love it! - Leather digital frame
I'm still trying to catch up to technologies now available to the everyday person. Long gone are the days where expensive electronics were only for the rich. Accessibility to the masses has become a way of life - though I don't think I'll ever embrace the "Blackberry" - a plain cell phone suffices! However, digital frames have caught my attention, but they always look too obvious and futuristic - lacking the warmth of a good'ol fashioned picture frame. So when I saw this leather digital frame, I actually felt it had the warmth to balance its technological features. Give it to Pottery Barn to take something current and make it traditional in the best of ways!

Love it! - Chain link frame
I love love love anything chain link. I've seen many antique Victorian frames with a single thick chain link border, so when I saw this one on MichaelCFina.com with multiple rows, I jumped out of my seat! Three words - classic, timeless, stylish. This design will pass the test of time, just like the memory it'll frame!
