Wood and Wire

Paddock fencing, East Gwillimbury

Hazy sunshine and pristine snow are for me treasures.  Yes, it IS cold...but hey!  It's also January in Canada.

 Needs some TLC

Further down the road, this fencing surrounds another horse farm - or maybe it's actually the same farm as above - I can't remember at the moment.

Stouffville Farm

Near Stouffville

Although much of the region  south of where I live is quite built up, a few farms remind passersby of what most of the area looked like not THAT long ago!

Fence Decor

 An East Gwillimbury Fence

Hasn't the recent snowfall enhanced these decorations nicely?

 Closeup of one post

Looks like were gonna have a white Christmas this year.

Walkways

Raised walkway on the way out to Georgian Bay at Collingwood

It's very rocky below this walkway and there's housing at one end for senior citizens so this fenced boardwalk - along with sturdy benches - makes this a safe way for  visitors of all ages to enjoy beautiful Georgian Bay.

Santa is ready to greet you (if you arrive by boat on the Trent-Severn Waterway)

Concrete walkway on the way out to Georgian Bay at Meaford

I love the shadows here, both those on the concrete posts that make the horizontal rails look bent and the shadow on the walkway.

Rusty Blossom

 Handmade gate

Sadly, this gate is getting rusty but I think it's still quite lovely. It needs some TLC.

The top 7 horizontal lines on the gate are actually the gate.  The bottom 3 are part of the reflection.

Guard Rails on Ridge Road

We still have some leaf colour, although leaves are falling from the trees.

Serpentine Fence

Curvy fence on bridge over McKenzie Marsh, Aurora

A main road spans one end of the McKenzie Marsh, and this time of year colourful trees line the north side of this wavy fence.

Ontario Dairy Farm

 Dairy farm fencing

The grass has stayed very green throughout the growing season, which I am sure has made the cows very happy this year.

A longer view

The leaves are turning red and the goldenrod is nearly done flowering.

Autumn Sailing

Whitby Harbour in late September

Diehard sailors are still out and about even though it's now officially autumn.  It was late in the afternoon and this sailor had stayed out on Lake Ontario as long as possible before returning to harbour.

I like this fence (which I admit I have photographed many times) decorated with anchors.

Horse and Buggy/Friday Fences

Buggy decor somewhere south of Beeton, Ontario

Last week the trees and grass were still quite green here. In addition to the green, you can see two fences.

Wrought-iron Gate/Friday Fences

Left side of gate to private property

I love this gate and wish I owned an impressive property with a long road into it so I could have a gate similar to this one.

Cattle and Corn/Friday Fences

 Eating grass, not the corn

Can you see the electrified fencing between the cows and the road?

At first I was very impressed with these well-behaved cattle.  The corn was right there but they seemed content eating the grass.

Can you see the reason for the good behavior?

But then I noticed what was between the cattle and the corn. Yep, I would have behaved too.

EG Farm/Friday Fences

East Gwillimbury horse farm

Although this is an old farm, the owners are making many changes lately that make this property look green and prosperous.

Sunset/Friday Fences

Summer Sunset

I made this photo because I loved the light on the fence and field.
