Thanksgiving Pilgrim Hat Popcorn Craft



Here's a unique Thanksgiving Pilgrim hat craft I found online.

Materials:

  • black construction paper
  • orange construction paper or craft foam
  • popped popcorn
  • glue

Directions:

  1. Draw an outline of a Pilgrim hat with glue on black paper.
  2. Cover the glue line with popcorn.
  3. Cut a rectangular piece from orange paper or craft foam and glue in the middle for the hat's buckle. Allow to dry.

Thanksgiving Day Toilet Paper Roll People Craft


Here are some great looking Thanksgiving Day Pilgrims and Indians(Native Americans) made from toilet paper rolls. These are simple and fun to make.


Materials:

  • toilet paper roll
  • various colored construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue
  • markers

Directions:

Pilgrims:


  1. Wrap the bottom 1/2 of the toilet roll in black or brown paper, glue in place and push the excess down inside.
  2. Cut a little "v" in a piece of white paper, cut out and glue around the middle of the Pilgrim for a shirt.
  3. Roll and piece of yellow paper around the roll for size. Cut out and cut little slits for hair.
  4. Glue the hair on your roll. Leave a space for the face in the middle.
  5. Wrap a thin black strip at the top and attach a black square sticking up in front for a simple Pilgrim's hat. Don't forget the buckle.
  6. For a girl Pilgrim, use a white strip and a white oval for a bonnet.
  7. Draw a face with a marker.
Indians:

  1. Wrap the top half of the toilet roll in white paper and glue in place.
  2. Cut a zigzag pattern on one side of brown paper. Wrap and glue on for the Indian's clothes.
  3. Cut out a strip for the hair from black paper. Cut little strips for the hair. Wrap around and glue on. Leave a space for the face.
  4. Wrap a blue strip in the middle and a pink strip on bottom to decorate the clothes.
  5. Decorate face, beads, and headband with a black marker.
  6. Glue on a little brown strip at the top for a headband. Cut out some little feathers and glue at the top.
  7. Draw a face with markers.

Here are some great looking Thanksgiving Day Toilet Paper roll dolls. This craft is a fun way to teach about American history and also use recycled materials.

Materials:

  • toilet paper rolls
  • various colored construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue

Directions:

Pilgrims:

 
  1. Trace the end of the toilet roll on black paper. Trace a slightly wider circle around that. Cut out both. This will be the Pilgrim hat rim and top.
  2. Wrap the toilet roll in black paper, glue in place and push the excess down inside.
  3. Color a piece of paper with peach marker and cut out a small rectangle for the face.
  4. Glue the face on and draw the details with a black marker.
  5. Roll and piece of yellow paper around the roll for size. Cut out and cut little slits for hair.
  6. Glue the hair on your roll.
  7. Cut out the front of the shirt and glue on.
  8. Put on the hat rim and tape the circle on top.
  9. Cut a thin strip for the hat brim with a buckle and glue on.
  10. For a girl Pilgrim, make a little bonnet hat from white paper. A small half cone shape with a fold.
Indians:

 
  1. Wrap the toilet roll in brown paper and glue in place.
  2. Color and cut out a rectangle for the face and glue on.
  3. Cut out a strip for the hair from black paper. Cut little strips for the hair. Wrap around and glue on.
  4. Decorate face, beads, and headband with a black marker.
  5. Cut out some little feathers and glue at the top.

Thanksgiving Pilgrim Bonnet Paper Craft


This is a very simple Thanksgiving Day Pilgrim bonnet craft you can make from a single sheet of paper. You just need scissors and string.

Thanksgiving Pilgrim Hat Craft

Here's a great Thanksgiving Pilgrim hat craft that's easy and fun to make.

 
Materials:

 
  • black and yellow construction paper
  • white paper
  • scissors
  • glue
  • something to trace circles or a drafting compass
  • tape

 
Directions:

  1. Trace a circle on black construction paper to match child's head. Trace a larger circle around that one, a couple of inches wider. Cut out both so you have a ring for the brim and a black circle.
  2. Roll a sheet of black construction paper into a cone. The bottom should match the inner circle of the brim ring. Use the black circle to make the top of the hat.
  3. Cut about 1 inch deep slits all around the edge of the black circle. Fold down the edges.
  4. Glue this piece into the top of the cone to make the top of the hat.
  5. Cut a buckle piece from yellow paper.
  6. Fold a sheet of white paper into a strip and insert into the buckle.
  7. Glue the strip around the base of the cone.
  8. Cut little slits around the base of the cone an fold up. Use this to glue on the brim.
  9. Put the brim ring down on top of the hat and glue in place.

Thanksgiving Pilgrim Girl Paper Plate Craft


Here's a pilgrim girl paper plate craft for thanksgiving to match the pilgrim boy.

Materials:

  • Pilgrim girl template(from link below)
  • 1 large paper plate
  • 1 small paper plate
  • black and brown construction paper
  • skin toned paint
  • paintbrushes
  • scissors
  • glue
  • crayons

Directions:

  1. Paint a small paper plate beige and allow to dry.
  2. Print out the templates
  3. Trace and cut out a large wedge piece for the collar and 2 other pieces for the bonnet from the large paper plate.
  4. Trace and cut out the black collar piece and glue to the large wedge.
  5. Glue the small wedge to the back of the bonnet piece.
  6. Trace and cut out the hair from brown paper.
  7. Glue the collar wedge to the bottom.
  8. Glue the hair to the top and the bonnet on top of that.
  9. Draw a face on your pilgrim girl

Thanksgiving Pilgrim Boy Paper Plate Craft

This is a great pilgrim boy craft you can make for Thanksgiving.

Materials:

  • pilgrim boy template(from link below)
  • 1 large paper plate
  • 1 small paper plate
  • beige or skin toned paint
  • black, yellow, white, and brown construction paper
  • scissors
  • tape
  • crayons
  • glue

Directions:
  1. Paint the small paper plate beige and allow to dry.
  2. Print out the templates
  3. Use the template to cut a wedge from the big paper plate.
  4. Use the other templates to cut out the pieces for the hat, hair, and collar with the appropriate colors.(the hair is brown)
  5. Glue the hat together.
  6. Glue the collar onto the wedge and glue it on the back of the beige paper plate at the bottom.
  7. Glue the hair on the top.
  8. Glue the hat on top of the hair.
  9. Draw a face on your pilgrim boy.
